It’s not often that I listen to every recording released by a person, especially a fairly new artist. I was introduced to Agnes Obel a little while back by a friend, and I fell in love with the music, but music often has a way of hitting you differently depending on your mood. Well, I was in the right mood, and I got that wonderful click of inspiration. I wanted to play, I wanted to sing. I find myself humming these songs. I find myself transported by these songs. It’s exciting, and yes…I listened to every album this woman has released, and I want more.

I recommend any of you to listen to random tracks from Youtube, and see what you think. It’s not something where I can chose a song I think best defines her work, I think any will do.

Agnes Obel - Philharmonics
Phil
Agnes Obel - Aventine
Aventine
Agnes Obel - Citizen of Glass
Citzen

Nice one ESF - just spent an afternoon listening to Agnes in the background whilst at work on the pc (a youtube mix of her stuff so far) - some decent tunes and interesting delivery - will be listening to her bit more in the future. Many thanks for recommendation/info 😃

Kind of a silly lawsuit, but imagine if somebody sued over the SE’s being passed off as the originals? 😉

😃 Good luck the the person who ordered the 007 boxset with ‘all’ the James Bond films in - companies should be more careful with the words described to sell their product to the public.

They do actually have the list of films in the box that are included… The whole lawsuit is completely just being stupid.

Yet, it clearly states that:-

'Product Description

Collectible box set featuring all 22 James Bond films on Blu-ray disc in one complete offering for the first time.

Collection includes all 22 James Bond feature films from Dr. No to Quantum of Solace and more than 130 hours of bonus features including never-before-seen content from the Bond archives, and more.’

So ‘all’ means not ‘all’ - because there is a long list of films and bonus content afterwards? - which after seeing ‘all’ you probably wouldn’t read through that list as you’re already safe in the knowledge that you’re going to receive all the James Bond films in this boxset…

I think the lawsuit is quite petty - though if it results in companies have to be more accurate and careful in the way they word/sell their products then the better it is for us, the consumer…

A Star Wars USB Drive - <em>Box, Case, Tape, Tin, Frame, Figure &amp; Cover</em> Thread...
Time

^ & ^^ - Thank you for the kind words lads - they are much appreciated 😃

I think I found the Rogue One logo here on this old article - http://www.slashfilm.com/disney-wont-promote-star-wars-rogue-one-until-after-mission-impossible-opens/

(it says it is by Michael Cohen of ‘The Rebels Podcast’ fame - https://twitter.com/arkwulf/status/576092216935886848 - so all credit to him)

There is also this similar logo for TFA - from http://popfurypodcast.com/110-star-wars-the-force-awakens/

The Faces pieces are based from these 3-in-1 dvd covers that LordStarkiller and I knocked up (and a lot of talented people before us) - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Star-Wars-THX-Faces-DVD-Covers-Finished/id/11481/page/3

Got to admit the Definitive Edition style logo is my favourite - it fits/suits the USB Box well. Though anything a little different or ‘out there’ is all good too 😃

and sometimes something simple does the trick…

^ both images just found in a simple google search.

The Premiere cinema in Cardiff (UK) £4 a ticket, any film, any format, any time!

I think it’s £3 for a child.
So for a family (2x adults + 2x child) £14.

Quality that mate - seems the owner has a decent business model and doesn’t mind cutting his profit margin if it gets people and families back in (and may likely make a little back in the longer run) - better that than it laying empty and decaying for 10 years 😃

My local is £6.90 an adult, £5.40 kids all days and times - bar Tues & Wed when it’s £5 adult, £2 kids. Doing well too and getting in people in from various community groups, people just looking to meet up with mates, and those who want to just get out the house etc.

Finally, wasn’t Peter Cushing too tall? I seem to remember him being barely taller than Carrie Fisher, and she was rather short too. He towered over nearly everyone.

^ Seems Cushing isn’t too far off Vader’s height (with Vader having a helmet and boots - and Cushing likely wearing his slippers - as the Imperial boots were apparently uncomfortable for him to film in for any length of time)…

ScruffyNerfHerder said:

…I can’t believe that the Empire would dismiss the stolen Death Star plans so readily in the next film. “It doesn’t matter what technical plans they’ve discovered. This station is now the ultimate power in the galaxy…” Really?! The Rebels sent their entire fleet to get those plans, don’t you think they did that for a reason?

The full conversation from that conversation in the next film is:-

INT. DEATH STAR - CONFERENCE ROOM

Eight Imperial senators and generals sit around a black
conference table. Imperial stormtroopers stand guard around
the room. Commander Tagge, a young, slimy-looking general,
           is speaking.

                                 TAGGE
Until this battle station is fully
                     operational we are vulnerable. The
Rebel Alliance is too well equipped.
                     They're more dangerous than you
                     realize.

The bitter Admiral Motti twists nervously in his chair.

                                 MOTTI
                     Dangerous to your starfleet,
Commander, not to this battle station!

                                 TAGGE
The Rebellion will continue to gain
a support in the Imperial Senate as
                     long as....

Suddenly all heads turn as Commander Tagge's speech is cut
short and the Grand Moff Tarkin, governor of the Imperial
outland regions, enters. He is followed by his powerful ally,
The Sith Lord, Darth Vader. All of the generals stand and
bow before the thin, evil-looking governor as he takes his
place at the head of the table. The Dark Lord stands behind
           him.

                                 TARKIN
The Imperial Senate will no longer
be of any concern to us. I've just
received word that the Emperor has
                     dissolved the council permanently.
The last remnants of the Old Republic
                     have been swept away.

                                 TAGGE
                     That's impossible! How will the
                     Emperor maintain control without the
                     bureaucracy?

                                 TARKIN
The regional governors now have direct
                     control over territories. Fear will
keep the local systems in line. Fear
                     of this battle station.

                                 TAGGE
And what of the Rebellion? If the
                     Rebels have obtained a complete
                     technical readout of this station,
                     it is possible, however unlikely,
that they might find a weakness and
                     exploit it.

                                 VADER
The plans you refer to will soon be
                     back in our hands.

                                 MOTTI
Any attack made by the Rebels against
this station would be a useless
                     gesture, no matter what technical
                     data they've obtained. This station
is now the ultimate power in the
universe. I suggest we use it!

                                 VADER
Don't be too proud of this
                     technological terror you've
                     constructed. The ability to destroy
a planet is insignificant next to
                     the power of the Force.

                                 MOTTI
Don't try to frighten us with your
                     sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your
sad devotion to that ancient religion
has not helped you conjure up the
stolen data tapes, or given you
                     clairvoyance enough to find the
                     Rebel's hidden fort...

Suddenly Motti chokes and starts to turn blue under Vader's
           spell.

                                 VADER
I find your lack of faith disturbing.

                                 TARKIN
Enough of this! Vader, release him!

                                 VADER
                     As you wish.

                                 TARKIN
                     This bickering is pointless. Lord
Vader will provide us with the
location of the Rebel fortress by
the time this station is operational.
We will then crush the Rebellion
                     with one swift stroke.

^ So… the Empire doesn’t really dismiss the stolen plans at all… it is just Motti who is somewhat overconfident and also displays little regard for his own Imperial Fleet - whilst boasting about the power of the Death Star given the conversation above - and also resulted in Vader choking him seconds later.

Rogue One has it’s faults - many are seemingly quite subjective (and a few could possibly be explained by the re-shoots/changes) - but the height of a character and one Imperial officer in the next film with a hard-on for the Death Star becoming the basis for ‘I can’t believe that the Empire would dismiss the stolen Death Star plans so readily in the next film’, aren’t quite there.

(not discounting your premise that Motti would somehow know that it was the entire Rebel fleet at the Battle Of Scarif - which it likely wasn’t).

Because people give up and buy it off of him, if it were easier to acquire that would be a different story.

I agree it is a bit tedious but it really shames me that fans are WILLING to put money into this. I mean
the versions I got my hands on were from TUIG and yeah it sucks they have no menus but I can wait until I get into a private torrent site. The barebones versions are plenty to tide me over and they did take me a while to figure out how to convert MKV files to a blu-ray format but after that it was smooth sailing.

Some people find it easier to just buy them, some of us don’t have the internet speed to download 200+GB of data or blu-ray burners etc. I’ve had this argument before, but it’s just supply and demand. Until there is an easier way to get these, which I doubt there ever will be, because if that ever happened it would for sure get shut down at that point, people will always try to find a way to make an extra buck or two.

You don’t need a blu-ray burner. All you need is a DVD burner and some Dual-layered DVDs to get your hands on high quality versons of the DE’s/SSE’s. The AVC-HD versions on TUIG (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yLsvexWBVM8IYSGopKuSfsGk5YIgCwQWd23bqb5ryD4/pub) and do the multi-part rar download. If you have good internet speeds then it will download in like an hour or two, if not then it might take 3-4 hours. Then all you need is something like ImgBurn and burn it to the Dual-layered DVDs. If you’re really that desperate why not take a day to figure that out with the help of an extensive guide and a community more than willing to help you along the way. The AVC-HD versions are perfect for Dual-layered DVDs because they’re only 8-9 Gigabytes. Why wait for 5-10 days to get it in the mail for 200$ or even 50$ when you can do it for the price of some dual-layered DVDs and take just a few hours of your day. Seems perfectly acceptable to me.

Or let it go overnight or even a few nights…everyone (or so it seems) wants things instantly these days and can’t be bothered putting in some time and effort to actually obtain things that are so worth the time anyway. It actually took me something like 3 weeks to get all the files for these custom BDs and I am still yet to get onto sourcing a burner, discs and printer to print all the covers and whatnot but what is a few weeks to the many years I’ve been denied the experience of watching the theatrical versions on my TV / home cinema in a decent resolution and having it sit nicely on a shelf when not watching?

.Val

I’M SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO UPLOAD IT’S NOT MY FAULT I’M TOO CHEAP TO SPRING FOR A PAID MEGA ACCOUNT!!!

😉

LOL, this was in no way a dig at you…just a great example at hand to use. I only have appreciation for yourself sharing them with me and trying to reciprocate that kindness and community spirit by sharing with those that I believe will also greatly enjoy harmy’s and njvc’s creations and respect njvc’s wishes not to distribute these willy-nilly to try and protect against the profiteering going on.

Can’t wait to finish moving into the new house myself and get started on the next stage - actually making my own custom boxset! 😄

.Val

Good luck with your box set! I’m starting to assemble mine as well. Are you going to design it yourself, or use one of the designs available from people here on the site?

On this topic I’ve downloaded njvc’s provided box art and I’m puzzled on how your supposed to get the art applied on the disc, a special printer perhaps?

There are some printers that can print right onto a printable discs. You can also get sticker label, which I have used before, but some people have said they have problems with them. Those are the only two options that I know of. Good luck!

Option 1: The only 50 GB printable blu ray discs i can find come in bulk on Amazon for like, 100 bucks…

Option 2: I suck at applying screen protectors or any type of sticker that matter and most blank blu ray discs have a sticker label already on it with their logo or something.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K7LDZUY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AQDD1EODCLSQ8&psc=1

What would I do without this community…

Thank You!

Now to find a printer…

A Star Wars USB Drive - <em>Box, Case, Tape, Tin, Frame, Figure &amp; Cover</em> Thread...
Time

I also ‘made’ this simple poster frame to put my Star Wars usb drives in (or on) - for safekeeping…

It’s just a standard white Ikea Ribba picture frame (26cm x 20cm) which costs £4 ($5) - with a printed piece of A4 paper slightly trimmed to fit inside frame (24cm x 18cm)…

I’m not quite happy with the finished picture - and am going to attach some small white hooks to hang the USB drives onto - but am sure you get the gist…

(I also took the glass frame out of the front so it wouldn’t have any reflections / glare for the camera - it does look better with the glass in, honest 😃)

The ‘poster’ used…

Originally I was going to something with this Star Wars Kenner/Palitoy ‘poster’ below for a USB Ribba picture frame - with a few small screws or hooks to hang the USB drives on - but I didn’t have a spare black frame…

Maybe someday soon I’ll get around to it - it’ll probably look a lot better in black than white - but either is good 😃

Obviously Ikea (and other similar stores) does all sorts of differing sizes and shapes of picture frames to fit on our shelves or wall etc - and one of the cool things is with using picture frames is that we can use any Star Wars art that we want for it 😃

A Star Wars USB Drive - <em>Box, Case, Tape, Tin, Frame, Figure &amp; Cover</em> Thread...
Time

^ cheers mate - hope it comes in use for you 😃

I recently bought this for £4 ($5) delivered on ebay - a set of Star Wars cufflinks with it’s original flip-top triangular box.

I’m not a cufflinks kind of man - but the box it came with looked pretty decent - and has 2 stretchy bands in the box to firmly hold the cufflinks in place…

Now the box no longer has any cufflinks in… and instead houses a USB flash drive full of backed-up Star Wars films that look decent on the shelf next to the dvd cases and other usb boxes 😃

Any small box that could securely/firmly hold a USB drive in place should be good - whether it’s a box with Star Wars logo already on it - or applying a sticker or gluing some printer art to it etc…
