I thought having Evazan and Walrus Man was a little too much.

I very much agree.

And about the ā€œtransmissions vs. Data Tapesā€ debate, it make sense to me that both happened. They beamed the plans via ā€œseveral transmissionsā€ and then the crew downloaded that data onto tapes. Maybe Iā€™m missing something (Iā€™ve only seen R1 once), but I donā€™t see any problems there.

I have seen a few threads out on other boards where people say Rogue One messed up because the death star plans were transmissions - and not data tapes, and also the reverse

Yeah, those are the people Iā€™m talking about. I thought the film handled this just fine.
I would have loved to see them running across the beach with the plans to a transmissions tower though. Seems there are other things that could have been cut so that this would have fit. Maybe not though.

Same here, especially the beach running scenes, stormtroopers in the water etc, and the Rebels running towards the AT-ACTs šŸ˜ƒ

Iā€™d love to see more of scenes Donnie Yen referred to in a recent instagram post too - though that seems unlikely (https://www.instagram.com/p/BRPmCvthYwi/)

So, with the digital download available today, the total length combined of all the special features (minus the Target exclusives) has been reported as just 1hr 8mins. Thatā€™s pityful.

Sad to hear - doesnā€™t seem a lot at all. Given the poor dvd/blu ray covers, lack of deleted/alternative scenes, commentaries, and now very brief special features - this seems lazy and underwhelming work for a film that deserves more.

To be honest, mate, the more I hear from about (Iā€™m paraphrasing Gareth Edwards here) ā€˜the marketing people wanting the TIE Fighter scene on the balcony with Jyn - despite we told them it wasnā€™t going to be in the filmā€™ comment the more I think wellā€¦ are future trailers and adverts etc also going to show scenes that arenā€™t from the future films too?

Because if that is the case, they are deceiving us, and we - as fans - deserve a little more than that.

Historian Dan Snow has the best response to Fox Newsā€™ claim that London is ā€˜defeated and demoralisedā€™:-

^ contains video, also found here - https://twitter.com/thehistoryguy/status/845023778044293122

Fox said that?! Whose side are they on? Good thing they werenā€™t around during the Blitz!

It was Katie Hopkins, who is (if you donā€™t know) a kind of British Ann Coulter-wannabe. Except unlike with Coulter who has at least some limited support in her Country (as far as Iā€™m aware), every last person in Britain hates Hopkinsā€™ guts with a deep and abiding passion.

Dan Snowā€™s video and his other twitter responses to her ignorance are very funny but itā€™s best to just ignore people like her because offending nice people is how she makes a living.

So, another repulsive creature no man would touch, even if it meant saving the entire human race from extinction? Got it. šŸ˜‰

If she was all that was left to repopulate, then the human race has already died out.

It says a lot about the type of media willing to have her on to air her poison and views which often lack facts or credibility.

A fair few people in the UK were quite happy that Hopkins recently lost a libel case to Jack Monroe - unfortunately this likely means Hopkinsā€™ll now be saying anything to help cover the payout and costs.

Iā€™ll repeat this one last time. And itā€™s not directed at Fo because thatā€™s clearly a dead end.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/23/politics/adam-schiff-trump-russia-grand-jury/

The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee is claiming that he has been presented with new information on collusion between associates of President Donald Trump and Russia that would merit a grand jury investigation.

Rep. Adam Schiff told CNN Thursday that he had seen additional evidence, but would not specify what it was.

ā€œWe continue to get new information that, I think, paints a more complete picture of at least what we know at the outset of our investigation,ā€ Schiff said.

Asked to explain his comments earlier in the week when he said there was more than just ā€œcircumstantial evidence of collusion,ā€ Schiff said, "I do think that itā€™s appropriate to say that itā€™s the kind of evidence that you would submit to a grand jury at the beginning of an investigation.

ā€œItā€™s not the kind of evidence that you take to a trial jury when youā€™re trying to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. But weā€™re at the beginning of an investigation, and given the gravity of the subject matter, I think that the evidence certainly warrants us doing a thorough investigation.ā€

If anyone can point out the bias and inaccuracy in this, feel free.

No-one will or can - as there is no bias or inaccuracy in there.

We are seemingly in an age where people and organisations are trying to present their opinion as fact possibly more than ever before - and when those same people are questioned on it they often cannot come up with facts/evidence to make their point - they generally then claim it as opinion (often under ā€˜free speechā€™), or deflect or obfuscate.

Whatā€™s even stranger is, like in this case, when factual reporting (literally nothing more than what someone said) is somehow painted as either opinion or a falsehood. It kind of boggles the mind.

Reminds me of how Spicey operates.

Fully agree.

It leads to questioning the mentality/intelligence of the people who say that about factual reporting - or questioning whether they are trying to erode trust in the media - and to what end and purpose (usually to attack a media outlet that may not share values or editorial stance, or perhaps feel that they doing too much of an effective job against them on other matters? etc)

It also gives a ā€˜free rideā€™ and diverts attention/focus away from other media that peddle lies, misinformation, hate and intolerance - that do share their ā€˜valuesā€™ etc or want/need their supportā€¦

Perhaps this is a subject you and I should not engage in discussion about. I have no qualms with you but since you are not a licensed physician (as far as I know) I take offense to your accusation of my mental status. It is a personal attack and they are against the rules.

Mentality in as in mindset, outlook or way of thinking, not ā€˜mental statusā€™.

And the post is clearly not about you - it was about Sean ā€˜Spiceyā€™ Spicer as previously indicated by Frink to which I was replying to.

So you need not take offense, and there is no personal attack, and no rules were gone aginst here.

Thank you for clearing that up. I appreciate it greatly my friend.

No worries mate.

Eh, if Iā€™m being honest Iā€™m sure I wonā€™t stay gone, but I do think I need a break. It seems that the board is becoming more about hating most of Star Wars than liking any of it.

Also forgot to say try ignoring the people who bring you down, those who spin their opinion as fact, who tell you what will be ā€˜goodā€™ or ā€˜terribleā€™, and try to tell you what to enjoy or not.

Why do I even visit this site

Pretty much. This place is toxic. If we actually get the OUT after Celebration and keeping tabs on preservations ceases to be so important, Iā€™m gone.

Thatā€™d be a shame and loss here - and though you are correct this place does seem toxic at times - I hope you reconsider.

Not really since this thread was about collecting international logos.

You missed a bitā€¦

"Just a few links to some articles / videos / pictures for information and history on the Star Wars logo, titles, and fonts down the yearsā€¦

(hopefully it may be of use, interest or inspiration for anyone out there šŸ˜ƒ)"

I didnā€™t, I deleted it. You missed the first post which was asking vector graphics for international logos for people to use. Kind of like you posted a wall of posters on another guyā€™s artwork thread and many other threads.

Aye, and previously stated thereā€™s some information on the various logos (and fonts used) in a fair few of those links, along with some related info (in my humble opinion) linked to those graphics for logos.

If you have a problem with it then ask one of the mods to remove it.

If Detola has a problem with them Iā€™ll remove them myself.

Ā

If you are referring to me (and have a problem with me) posting Rogue One posters and promos in a thread by a user with 1 post, on here 4 months after his 1 post, in a thread titled ā€˜Rogue One Poster/Promosā€™, then ask one of the mods to remove it.

Ā

Can you point out to these ā€˜many other threadsā€™ to me where Iā€™ve posted a wall of posters not suited to that thread? (so I can take a look at them to see where I may have ā€˜gone wrongā€™ as it were?)

Or why, you havenā€™t previously said something like ā€˜hey, Jason, it may not be cool to post these pics in this particular thread becauseā€¦ā€™ ?
