NightStalkerPoet's Quick and Dirty PT OT-ified (* unfinished project *)

I love the concept of Emanswfan’s project… but I’m an impatient person 😉. So impatient that I went to work on a grain addition/OT color scheme attempt of my own.

This project is definitely different in that I have not scene by scene color corrected - instead, I have spent hours trying to find a one size fits all color correction for each film. As such, I’m not striving for perfection nearly as much as I’m looking for a far better starting point for myself and other editors looking to make PT fanedits. These are the official Blus, just visually changed to match the OT. No deleted scenes are included, though when I have finished all three films I may go back and do them as well.

I will update soon with images in the second post (internet currently down at home so won’t have screengrabs for a little bit.

However, my TPM is finished, just running through x264 to drop down from the 300+ GB file it currently is. I will first be releasing a DVD-9 AVCHD, and if it is deemed of acceptable quality by the community, I will release a BD-25. The audio I’ll be including on these is 640 kbps english ac3 to provide more space for higher quality video, while still providing adequate audio quality in a format compatible with most editing programs.

Expecting to release TPM in the next couple days. At that point, I will possibly exspleen where to get them.

I definitely know what you mean. In comparison, it is incredibly different. However, viewed in motion I've been pretty happy with the results.

Yes, the vast majority of my settings were applied in After Effects using Hue/Saturation settings. I've struggled with finding the correct Brightness and Contrast settings, as the lower saturation causes the brightness to make the film appear washed out. However, having color corrected mainly with saturation, hue, and individual color brightness, upping the master saturation causes pretty bad artifacts.

I color corrected against Harmy's despecialized Star Wars.

Would be interested to see a clip of it in action!

Been a while, new monitor, fresh eyes. Wow, I was pretty down on saturation - though, it did hit some of the colors I wanted.

Can someone take a look at this and let me know if this is a step in the right direction?

Yeah that looks quite a lot better.

Yes, it looks much better without the horrible magenta tint and the sunburned faces.

Any way you can keep the length identical to the original so those of us who want to mux in the original DTS-HD audio can do so? Thanks in advance! :)
