Update by Moderator (October '17)…

njvc withdrew making available his superb Custom Bluray Set of Harmy’s Despecialized Editions around May '17 - you can read through the thread as to his very valid reasons and concerns for doing so.

However, with the blessing of both njvc and Harmy - a very kind member of this community has made them available again once again.

For details on how to acquire this quality set please read the ‘How to obtain njvc’s Custom Bluray Set…’ section found at the end of this post - thank you.

How to obtain njvc’s Custom Bluray Set…

Solkap, a very kind member of the community on here, has made available the njvc Custom Bluray Set of Harmy’s Despecialised Edition up on Mega.

For more info - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/NJVC-Custom-Bluray-Set-of-Harmys-Despecialized-Editions-now-available-on-Mega/id/57042/page/1

Well in to solkap for doing so, and not only for getting permission from both njvc and Harmy beforehand, but for also putting together a quality and useful guide on how to acquire them - and also on how to burn them to disc too.

The Despecialized Editions are still available in their original format - with details on how to acquire them - in Harmy’s 1st post of each of his Despecialized threads, linked to below…

I am so on board sir!!! My legs cannot stop quivering with excitement!!!

Author
Time

I would love to get those too. They look really amazing, great work.

Author
Time

I would love to get a copy if possible

Author
Time

As would I! What versions are they?

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Author
Time

They’re all the latest versions.

SW v2.7
ESB v2.0
RotJ v2.5

Author
Time

Sounds cool. But will they get a do-over once v3.0 for all three movies are out?

That said, I’m interested in getting a copy as well.

Author
Time

Yes, the intention is to update them as the new releases come out.

Author
Time

I am interested as well! I have been meaning to burn these to disks, but creating menus was daunting and i wanted someone else who knew what they were doing to do the work, and here you are!

Author
Time

If these are going on spleen, i would suggest a different torrent per disk, so we can easily swap out ESB for 2.5 when it comes

Author
Time

I didn’t see it in there, maybe I missed it, but what size are they? They must be for DL BD’s, otherwise you’d be sacrificing a significant amount of quality to fit what was already 20-23 gb’s files with all that extra stuff on a single layer BD.

So why are all the official commentaries missing from SW save for the Bluray “archival interviews” commentary?

I like your choices for the special features

Will there by a AVCHD (BD9) version of this?

Probably not an official. However, BD Rebuilder should do so nicely.

On another note, any MEGA recipients that would be willing to make some donations to my spleen would be appreciated. I can only plant seeds so fast.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

The 3 disks are BD25s. The video stream from Harmy’s MKVs was converted to a 720p bluray compliant format that Adobe Encore could understand, but bitrate for the film was kept as high as possible.

The special features and commentaries were chosen by me. They are lower-res, to fit on the disks, but still very watchable. For more official commentaries, you can listen via the MKV release.

All commentary tracks were recut to fit the theatrical editions.

Author
Time

Oh OK. Didn’t realize it was multiple discs, that makes sense then.

Sounds awesome.

Harrison Ford Has Pretty Much Given Up on His Son. Here's Why

Author
Time

I’d love a copy, these look amazing and downright professional. And I was wanting to sync the RLM tracks up myself, but was too lazy to recut them from the SE. This would be awesome. This is what should have been released to begin with.

 (Edited)

These look AWESOME. Thanks for such amazing work.

…but…

Would it be possible for me to swap out one of the audio tracks on SW for the isolated score (not asking you to, just wondering if it’s possible for me to do)?

“You don’t really mean you’ll kill me, do you?” - Juror 8
“Silence, Earthling! My name is Darth Vader. I am an extra-terrestrial from the planet Vulcan!” - Calvin “Marty” Klein

Author
Time

Probably not possible to swap out as far as i know, but ill put the isolated score on the 3.0 disk once it’s done

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but weren’t the video streams already Blu-ray compliant?

Would there be a way to swap the original stream back in, but keep your awesome menu intact?
