SW fonts

Hi! I wanted to start this thread to explore which fonts were used for the opening scrolls throughout the SW saga, and which ones are available for download. If a font is not available, then perhaps there are alternatives that look similar enough.

I ask because I'm trying to redo the crawl for Ep. II for my edit, but I'm running into some trouble finding the appropriate fonts (particularly for the title)

There were once two free fonts called "SWCrawlTitle" and "SWCrawlBody" available for download on theforce.net. The links are broken now. Just wondering if anyone happened to have these.

Both are available from www.pfonts.com

The actual fonts are News Gothic Bold and Univers Light Ultra Condensed. News Gothic Bold is used for the crawl and episode number. Univers Light Ultra Condensed is used for the film title.

And in case you're interested, ITC Franklin Gothic Demi Bold is used for the subtitles.

Well, while we're talking fonts...

I know these have been clarified before, but I'd like it done here in this thread - for good. In the prequel style logos - the ones that have "EPISODE III" above, and then the title "REVENGE OF THE SITH" below - what 2 fonts are used? I have the fanmade font that has one typeface for the capitals, and the other one for the lowercase - but what are the names of the actual fonts? I believed them to be Albertus MT & Trajan - is this correct?

You're talking about this logo, right?

I believe "EPISODE III" is Trajan Bold. It looks like "REVENGE OF THE SITH" could be Albertus MT as you suggest. I can't find a large enough image to confirm that for sure, but I think that's correct.

I've also seen the same logo done using Trajan Bold for both. However, I don't know if those are official or just fan-made.

Thanks! Do you know if there is possibly a place where I could obtain these free of charge?

I am looking for the OT logos such as the Return of the Jedi & Empire Strikes Back to create my own disc art. Does anyone know where these can be downloaded?

I have News Gothic Bold, PM me if you still need it. I wouldn't mind having Univers Light Ultra Condensed and Albertus MT if anyone has them. Another font that I'm looking for is Baucher Gothic URW T Alternates.

Does anyone have this font or family of fonts?

ITC Franklin Gothic Demi Bold

If so, can I get it/them from someone?

Thanks ahead of time.

"Subtitles are currently being added to Star Wars: Episode I by Art Department Coordinator Blake Tucker. The translations are for Ben Burtt's Huttese language, the voice of choice among Mos Espa locals. The lucky font used is ITC Franklin Gothic Demi Bold, 69 point with -30 tracking, a match to the titles used in the original Star Wars Trilogy."

Any chance I could get hooked up with the fonts? I posted a message in the general discussion... but, I'm recreating the opening titles for a fanfilm. I'm interested also in the font used for "A long time ago", anyone know what that is? Also, does anyone know the exact colors used in the OT and the PT for the opening titles?

I'm trying to recreate the crawl, but I'm not liking the results in After Effect 6.5 Pro. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sledge

I see that in the other thread you are still trying to establish the 100% correct font to use. When you know for certain which fonts you need, just let me know and I will get them to you.
