I finally got BitTorrents to work, and am downloading "Balance of the Force" on my father-in-law's DSL line.

MagnoliaFan:

About Dooku's lightsaber being switched to yellow- You said that in response to someones concern about it being yellow, you said that he wouldn't simply throw it out just to show his new allegiance. Well, couldn't he have simply switched lightsaber crystals? Swap whatever was his old sabre color crystal (lets say yellow) to red. Or are crystals not canon? I mean if they are, better to have his saber stay red, considering you have made a lot of changes that already try to make him seem less of a sith.

Sorry about the request, but can someone please PM me the links to the MagnoliaFan edits? I tried searching on myspleen but couldn't find em. I'd like both (ep I & II) but can't find them. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

Thanks MBJ, that helped... able to find Ep I. Still can't find Ep II though, tried clone and wars and variations of it. What'd you use to find Ep II? Much appreciated.

The Clone War is not a torrent yet.

Yet. It will be in a few weeks I hear.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Hey, I just finished downloading the TR47 version of ESB off of myspleen, and I burned it to a DVD. Now, ANH worked great with no noticable errors. ESB on the other hand is plagued with lock ups and pixelization. Did I download a nuked set? Any ideas? Thanks.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

Sound like a bad burn man - so far it's been downloaded around 60 times with no reported flaws

Already have two wasted DVDs... I'd rather not try for a third. The actual VOB files are damaged I believe. I tested the first one with PowerDVD and it skips and jumps in the same places.

Try de-muxing the video using something like TMPGEnc. If the VOB file is corrupted, it is unlikely to extract correctly. If it does, you most likely have a burn problem. I've seen a downloaded copy of TR47's ESB play flawlessly burnt on TDK DVD-R, choke on Imation DVD+R written at 4x, and play fine on the same media burnt at 2x - all from the same files. YMMV...

That is weird it plays fine on my PC and I seeded these - If your VOB's are damaged that's gonna be on your end somehow - MAYBE you had to restart your PC while the torrent was running or something.........

I know the feeling. It was dealing with downloading 225 MB video files every week that pushed me to finally go get DSL a year ago.

^ I imagine that would take some time and hinder anything else you wanted to on your pc at the same time!

Looks like I better work out where is best for the cable company to start drilling holes in my wall and whereabouts I want the laptop based

Hopefully the benefit of this torrents lark will soon pay off

Description: ‘VHS rip of the little-known cult classic. I’m not entirely sure which release this is. The box says it was released in 1984 but the tape might be from a bit earlier. Either way, it’s Star Wars before all the weird computer generated shit was vomited all over it.’

Added: 2024-02-17 14:14:24 GMT

Description: ‘The 1984 release of the 2nd Star Wars film. Though this printing has a promo at the end with 1986 copyrights. This rip didn’t come out as crisp as the Star Wars rip. I don’t know how much of that I can blame on the official video transfer or the degradation of the tape itself (this was definitely a well-loved copy). But it’s not too bad, maybe I’ll seek out another copy and see if I can do a better capture at a later date.’

^ it is still a pretty good capture, IMHO.
