STAR WARS Descored/Rescored Yoda Vs. Sidious With New Score By Isaac Vail (Released)

I am attempting to creat a fan edit without the music and a version with new/changed music

as in: new music for duels with no music
changing music for scenes with a cue that would sound similar to the existing one/changing the music to fit the scene better.

John Williams score to Return of the Jedi Remastered/Remixed:

the careful construction of a musicless version would be a brilliant resource for any editor. you could easily recruit help for this too.

demuxing hypercube transcoder.... blaaaaaah...sounds briliant

could i have a copy of the descored audio track when its done? which movies are you doing for this? a certain infaminous discontinued project springs to mind....;)

I would love to see this done for the prequels. It would also be great if you could isolate voices from sound effects as well.

i have always wanted a crack at a reborn style edit, so the clean audio track would allow for alternative scoring. one of the key issues with ID and TJ efforts was the dialogue track.

any chance you can post some samples? this is really exciting stuff if you can pull it off!

Wow.  I wish you all the luck in the world with this project.

If ID and I got our hands on scoreless soundtracks.......................   well you never know.

Good luck with this project. I was thinking hard about doing this myself. Editing these movies is so much easier without music in them. I do audio editing but all I can do is make crappy songs sound like decent mp3s.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

You know having taken many audio classes in college I can say on some authority, I have a really hard time believing this is possible. Removing sounds is a matter of frequency slecting, then toning out said frequency. So far all you've done is claim what you "want" to do, or "if" it is possible. Please do yourself a favor, post something thats already done before announcing it, if you have a selection of film that has all the audio elements removed and seperated, then show us cause until then I chalk this up to wishful thinking. Sorry for being the voice of disbelief on this one, but I just dont think what you want to do is possible.
