Guide to Star Wars Documentaries and Special Features

I want to create a spreadsheet to list all of the Star Wars documentaries and special features, and links to where they can be found.

Link to Google spreadsheet:
Guide to Star Wars Documentaries and Special Features

This is most definitely a work in progress and far, far away from complete. I’ve been chatting with a few of the more knowledgeable members here and decided to create a thread for it now so everyone can contribute and comment. I think this could be a valuable resource and a lot of fun.

Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for contributing:

A top idea for a quality and helpful project this, Rodney-2187 👍

Wishing you all the best with this - and hope other members of the community here also chip in and help…

Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Thanks for those links. I was pointed in the direction of that information by a few people I consulted before starting the thread. I’m slowly adding more of it to the spreadsheet for easy reference. Also adding links to content as well as corresponding threads here on the forum.

Some of it is more than I want to include on the main spreadsheet. I wouldn’t want to try to list every interview on every show for instance. I’ve thought about additional sheets for commentaries and deleted scenes.

My hope is for it to be a group effort. Please keep pointing out what I’ve left off that you think is important and any errors found. oojason and a few others can also edit the spreadsheet.

It’s just started, but I think it will eventually be a great tool and a lot of fun. Thanks to ZkinandBonez, none, and oojason for helping me get going.

Thanks, just added it.

I was confusing “Star Wars: Behind the Magic” with “Star Wars: Making Magic” since they’re both CD-Rom based. There are a lot of similar titles and often variations on the same title.

Figured out that “Sculpting a Galaxy” is indeed a book, the “limited edition” of which comes with a DVD containing a documentary. Added it to the spreadsheet.

Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars Model Shop

Description of “Limited Edition” contents:

YouTube review of book and DVD:

Also added Star Wars: Feel the Force

does anybody know a higher quality of this video?

Thanks! I added a few more pages for deleted scenes, trailers, and commentaries. Still very much a work in progress, but I think it’s coming along nicely.

This thread itself isn’t very active at the moment yet, but I’ve received a lot of help though private messages.

I haven’t been able to find anything on these, only a book called “Star Wars Geektionary: The Galaxy from A - Z.” To my knowledge, it does not include a documentary like “Sculpting a Galaxy” does.

Arena: The Force is With Us? is already listed on the spreadsheet. This is the page it links to: https://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/arena-the-force-is-within-us/z4gq92p

The link you posted above leads to the same 6:33 long video.

Here is an entry for the episode on imdb:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7925696/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

(season 3, episode 16 - aired January 1978)

I haven’t found a link to view the entire episode. If you have one, please share.

Guide to Star Wars Documentaries and Special Features;

5757 -> wrong place -> vimeo at 1992 vhs -> right place link at vimeo

why you seperate the " a long time ago in a galaxy far,far away… " from STAR WARS and double the youtube, vimeo, amazone prime and ot forum column?

“Man and Machine” was already on the list. I added “Space Cowboys” and “War, Weaponry and the Force.” I originally thought it was one documentary with three segments, but they appear to have been presented as three individual episodes. Also added links to all three.

The top portion is mainly for documentaries and special features included with different releases of the movies. The bottom is for documentaries that primarily aired on television or were released separately. I didn’t feel the need to continue columns for certain media releases since nothing in the bottom portion will be in those columns.

Wow! Nice work on the spreadsheet guide, Rodney-2187.

Some impressive effort has gone into this, you’ve obviously been hard it at 👍
