He was a very big deal here (Austin). There is a bill filed to rename a major road after him.

I can’t see the link mate - though hope he does get that road named after him. Seems a quality way to both honour and remember people from in and around local communities.

Despecialized Editions by Harmy : Index of 'How-To's & Help' Threads | Index of 'General Despecialized Threads' | ‘Where are they? And how do I get them?’ mega-merge thread...
Time

Just adding a little to what Chainsaw Ash put so well above - probably worth asking a friend, neighbour or family if you can use their computer or equipment to burn some blu ray discs if money is an issue. Also may be try the local internet cafe etc too.

Good luck with it 😃

PS - glad you didn’t go with buying the Despecialized Editions from one of the dark side scumbags out there…

Harmy made a youtube video to remind everyone that Fan Edits must never be bought or sold:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrwKZHv4OS0

As posted elsewhere on the site…

The people who sell these freely available projects do so on the backs of the Fan Editors’ long, arduous & hard work - all given for free. The same applies to those who designed the cover and disc art, and also the people who put together any extras such as interactive menus or bonus / additional content made for these projects as well.

Many of these sellers make considerable money from selling these Fan Edits - despite often claiming that they are only charging ‘for their time and to cover costs’. These claims are false - they substantially profit from their actions.

The quality of product you see in many sellers’ ‘unboxing’ or ‘promotional’ videos on youtube etc may be nowhere near the quality of what you actually receive; some people have received non-working discs, cheap quality discs, poor quality covers printed on standard letter paper, low quality ink settings used, broken disc cases, just being sent the discs themselves instead of in their protective boxes - and without disc covers and artwork too (despite some ‘review’ videos showing the contrary).

They also endanger the future of any and all future projects too. It is a golden rule of owning these freely available Edits that you must own the official retail release (or digital download) - and that no-one profits from the making & distribution of them.

Some sellers have even deleted comments on their sites from Harmy and other Fan Editors letting people know the above info - and that all these projects are freely available elsewhere…

I’m trying to have a sour grapes attitude about this, since there’s no way in hell I’ll ever be in a financial place to afford a visit. 😉

Same here man - plus, even if I had the money for such as thing I’d likely wait a couple of years - hopefully for the likely frantic initial interest and lengthy queues to die down a little… 💰

When this Hondo starts asking if you’ve seen John Connor you may have a different attitude 😉

Birth of a Monster | A Star Wars Story’…

www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0OfGeDkSlM - a 21 minute video at the Escape Velocity Content youtube channel

The blurb: ‘Birth of a Monster is a story of discovery and friendship surrounding a mysterious young boy and his loyal droid on the desert planet, Tatooine. What they discover will shape future generations in their galaxy.’

Beautifully shot and acted; with an engaging story too - a really enjoyable watch with an immersive Star Wars vibe running through the film.

A1000 Advanced Robotics | Walt Disney Imagineering’:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qteMlMAaNM

'A1000 advanced robotics are the next evolution of the A100 Audio-Animatronic figures that were first introduced by Walt Disney Imagineering in the mid-1980s. This standardized system for building humanoid robotic figures incorporates new electric functionality, replacing former hydraulic functions, producing extremely realistic, lifelike movement. Future figures in humanoid form can all use this system to ensure the same degree of realism and advanced levels of movement.

The advanced figures that were developed for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge - like this animated figure of Hondo Ohnaka, as seen in the Star Wars animated television series - are a hybrid of A1000 technology enhanced with custom-built elements.’

NJVC Custom Blu-ray Set of Harmy’s Despecialized Editions now available on Mega
Time

hi its Paul said:

Can some one just post the links to mega because I signed up for all of this stuff but the second one won’t let me in to get to the link to get to the files

No.

We are NOT a download or torrent site, and there are no posting of links to direct downloads on here.

Please take the time to look around the site, get a feel for the place, go through the various Despecialized Edition threads - read the guides (plural) on how to obtain them - just like many thousands of others have done so before you.

If you’re having an issue / technical difficulty have a look to see if other have encountered the same or similar difficulties and how they remedied it. If you’re still having issues then let your fellow members know the details of what the problem is… and they may well be able to help you.

Hopefully you’ll appreciate the long, hard and arduous work and effort that went into making the Despecialized Editions, supplying the step-by-step guides, making them available, the improvements made over time etc - along with the many people on here who time and again generously go out of their way to help countless others obtain them and answer any of the technical difficulties others may be experiencing.

And maybe weigh that up to your efforts to having ‘signed up for all this stuff’ and ask ‘…just post the links to mega…

Please also take the time to read threads such as the…

Some proposed changes to the categories in the Star Wars section of the OT.com...
Time

The General Star Wars Discussion section of the OT•com has grown into somewhat of an unwieldy beast over the past few years (5000+ threads) - especially with the addition of the Anthology films, Sequel Trilogy and animated tv series of late…

Given the forthcoming & future Star Wars releases - the Rian Johnson Trilogy, Weiss & Benioff Trilogy, The Mandalorian, a Cassian Andor series, a new season of Clone Wars, and likely even more content from the GFFA on the way - the moderators are considering splitting this part of the forum into more relevant and discernible categories.

Likely something akin to the following…

• General Star Wars Discussion
• Original Trilogy
• Prequel Trilogy
• Sequel Trilogy
• Beyond the Main Saga (ie, Anthology films, animated & live action tv series, future RJ & W&B content, Holiday Special, & Ewok films)
• The EU (ie, books, comics, games, soundtracks, music & radio dramas, cons & events, memberships)
• Theatrical Cuts vs. Subsequent Releases
• Toys & Memorabilia

Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Edit: it turns out there really isn’t enough traffic / threads / talk on the Prequels and Sequels to warrant their own sections. Though a combined forum (along with some of the other GFFA releases) would likely be the way to go, and see what happens from there…

Jokes thread : Reloaded
Time

A man was sitting reading his papers when his wife hit him round the head with a frying pan.

‘What was that for?’ the man asked.

The wife replied, 'That was for the piece of paper with the name Jenny on it that I found in your pants pocket.

The man then said ‘When I was at the races last week, Jenny was the name of the horse I bet on.’

The wife apologized and went on with the housework.

Three days later the man is watching TV when his wife bashes him on the head with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him unconscious.

Upon re-gaining consciousness the man asked why she had hit again.

Wife replied. ‘Your horse phoned’
