Your number of visits to the cinema to go see the Star Wars films...

Was talking with a sci-fi fan earlier today - she was too young to see the Original Trilogy when they first came out in the cinemas, but told me that on seeing Episode I she went to the cinema and saw it 4 times!

This was because she thought the excitement and all the hype of the The Phantom Menace for a long time got in the way of her enjoying the film for itself, so in the days that followed she went and watched it again, and again, and erm… finally again.

So, how many of you lot went to see Star Wars films (OT and PT) at the cinema, and how many times did you go back for more again, and why?

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Well, I was to younng to drive myself to the theaters for the original trilogies so only once for the first two and twice for Return of the Jedi. By Phanton Menace, I was working six days a week. I was able to see it in theaters two times. Attack of the Clones was so bad that I only watched it once in the theaters and only once since on video.

I saw ANH in theaters once, ESB once, and ROTJ twice.

I saw the SE of ANH once, the SE of ESB twice, and zero for the SE of ROTJ (I've only watched the video of ROTJ SE once).

I saw TPM once and have not seen it since (even on video), and I saw AOTC twice (and several times on cable).

I've seen ANH in theatres 3 times, ESB 4 times and ROTJ once. Once for TPM and twice for AOTC (including the IMAX Experience).

As a side note, I actually saw TPM bootlegged on the internet before seeing it in the theatre.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I saw only the SE versions in the theaters once each, and am much to young to have seen the OV in theaters.

I saw both TMP and AOTC in theaters twice.

I was about 2 months old when ANH 1st came out, so I missed it it's 1st time out. My dad took me to see ESB I think 3 times total and then I saw ANH up on campus (at Penn State) once (after seeing ESB). I think I saw ROTJ about 7 times. I can't count how many times I've seen the movies on video.

As far as TPM, I saw it 3 times. The 1st time I was too geeked to really see the film for what it was (and saw it at the 2nd showing). Saw it a 2nd time and enjoyed it and then when I was in LA saw it once on a really nice screen out there. I've seen it on DVD 3 or 4 times since then and just realized it was just OK at best. In terms of AOTC, I've seen that about 4 or 5 times in the theaters. I've got to admit, seeing it at the midnight showing was the best movie experience of my life. The fans were great and really enjoyed the movie. I saw it a few more times in the theater and then once on the digital screen in Boston. I've seen it since on DVD about 3 or 4 times and that's where I really see the flaws of the film, but still enjoy it pretty good.
