Hey there, everyone, I don’t believe this has been discussed, I see Harmy only quoted it. If it has, just ignore me.
Apparently in the Disney+ release of Star Wars, which I hear looks excellent because of a new 4K scan or something, they once again altered the scene with Han and Greedo. Greedo still shoots first but now they added the line “Maclunky” that Greedo shouts right before he dies.
I can’t confirm this, though, since I’m not from the US and Disney + isn’t available over here, I thought it was a joke at first. This is why I thought I would discuss it here.
Why, in the name of the force, would they do that? Unbelievable.
On a lighter note, I’d like to thank you, Harmy, for all the hard work. I’ve had the privilege to watch the Despecialized Editions once again this year in preparation for The Rise of Skywalker. I will watch it tomorrow at midnight, I’m quite excited. Hope you and everyone have a great time when you see it. MTFBWY.

Rey: “I am all the Jedi”???!?!? She’s not even a Jedi how can she claim to be them all? And Palpatine claiming to be “all the Siths” literally makes no sense as in the prequels, and indeed the Original Trilogy as well, he literally destroyed all the Siths. He killed them first, then the Jedi. He showed absolutely no allegiance to the Sith order. In my favourite Prequel he sends an ill-prepared apprentice Darth Maul to his death with the false-promise that he is much stronger “they will be no match” he tells him. That’s one of my favourite things about Phantom Menace is how heartless he is towards Maul, he’s really testing him to see if he’s strong enough to serve him - it’s complete self-interest. Just like how he tests Luke in Return of the Jedi (but he isn’t prepared for Luke).
Oh dear this is what Star Wars has become. Bringing back a beloved villain, just to make a complete mockery out of him.
If we take these scenes in isolation - and without context - then we may not have the full understanding of what is occurring (or has already occurred) 😉
Without the full story (or events around this part of the plot / film) we’re just guessing - though you still may be right, of course.

It’s at 54% now on RT, and 53 on metacritic. The reviews on youtube are very similar in tone to the critic reviews. It’s looking to be a disaster. For reference TPM is at 53% on RT.

IMDB also temporarily pulled the ratings for The Rise Of Skywalker earlier in the week when many people started posting reviews/ratings of the film - thousands of people, apparently… as they were all at the US Premiere.
I have no doubt there’ll be some people bashing it who simply haven’t yet seen TROS - or won’t be seeing it. Yet bash on it they will - with some considerable time and effort put into doing so - both repeatedly and vocally… (just in case anyone forgets they don’t like it 😉)
As for MetaCritic - at the time of writing this, MetaCritic says… 11 reviews are positive, 20 are mixed, 2 are negative: link

No, as far as I can see pretty much the entire movie was leaked months ago, apart for a number of aspects, that were changed in the reshoots (many of which leaked in the last few weeks). I’ve been following the leaks for a while now, and I’m personally suprised how accurate they are.

Ah you can see from (most of) those photos there’s not proper cinematic masking, which gives away it certainly isn’t from the premiere screening. There have been deep leaks for ages, all of the screenshots confirm them. Heck even TFA’s plot leaked in full months in advance. The entire ROS plot leaked on Reddit, plain and bare, for all to see, around three or four months ago.

I’m looking forward to seeing the film itself - and didn’t bother very much with the leaks (and only watched a few of the numerous tv spots available).

Given Kathleen Kennedy’s recent comments on future Star Wars content not having to adhere to a trilogy format:-

Maybe we’ll get two films instead - or maybe four 😉
Bar calling out the toxic fans - the racists, sexists, homophobes, trolls, death threat makers and announcers, and bullies who chase people involved in films they don’t like off the internet etc… I haven’t seen quotes from Rian Johnson chastising genuine criticism of The Last Jedi - I’ve only seen quotes from him stating he was perfectly fine with fans expressing genuine criticism of the film.
Perhaps someone can provide quotes from him to the contrary? (I am somewhat surprised nobody has done so previously.)

Mod Edit: It has come to the moderators attention that JSteven is also previously banned members ForceGhostRecon & Mikeluv80 - and many, many other socks - to which FGR has himself admitted.

It appears you were banned on FE for creating sock accounts on there too - and also made homophobic slurs on there as well - just earlier this year.
FGR was a new account after he forgot his password for an old account back before 2016. Subsequently, he was banned years later in 2019 for having multiple accounts.
Since then, countless new accounts created have been accused of being him.
