LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales - The Halloween Special - a general discussion thread
Time

‘Today, Disney+ debuted key art and announced the cast for ‘LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales’, which premieres October 1 exclusively on the streaming service. The all-new animated special continues the rich legacy of collaboration between Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group and is a seasonal celebration of the villainous dark side of the Star Wars galaxy — just in time for Halloween.’

‘After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe Dameron and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. The crime boss has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé. Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.’

Puts on best Poe Dameron TROS voice - ‘Somehow, Darth Vader’s castle has returned…

Hopefully should raise a few laughs - and maybe even top the recent ‘Lego Star Wars: Holiday Special’.

Again, so you guys’ll listen.

It is a shame you don’t seem to be listening.

Your passion and energy for discussing Star Wars is a welcome addition to the site - in the Star Wars discussion sections. As has been explained previously… they are not suited to the Fan Edit sections - nor is your attitude, tone and demeanour towards Edits and Editors.

Despite multiple suggestions, requests, explanations, and warnings… all of which have seemingly gone unheeded… you still persist.

Take some time away from here to reflect on the contrasting approaches to Editing, the wide-ranging styles, differing aims and goals, the nuances of it. To say nothing of the dedication and resoluteness of many editors, as well as others involved and helping out on the edits - from people all over the world… all with differing ideas and opinions; all coming together to make something different, alternative, or simply more in-keeping with their expectations or wishes. Maybe even to just enjoy or experience an edit from a different point of view.

Hopefully the posts, thoughts, and suggestions by members on here who took the time out to engage and illustrate that to you will also sink in.

Star Wars: Detours (animated series) - a general discussion thread (Unreleased)

From a few weeks ago - yet still worth mentioning in here…

The unreleased Star Wars series that Disney doesn’t want you to see’:-

“There isn’t an interest in releasing this content on Disney+ from Lucasfilm,” says co-creator Seth Green

https://ew.com/tv/star-wars-detours-disney-lucasfilm-seth-green

Star Wars Detours Probably Won’t Ever Be Released and Here’s Why’:-

Co-creator Seth Green explains why the animated Star Wars comedy is likely frozen in carbonite

https://gizmodo.com/star-wars-detours-probably-wont-ever-be-released-and-he-1847205926

I’m still not sure why Disney+ don’t just release the 39 finished episodes - and then gauge the reaction / interest for them to see if it worth filming / completing the other unfinished episodes… oh, well.

Why ‘Star Wars Detours’ Is the Most Fascinating Piece of ‘Star Wars’ Media Missing From Disney+’:-

A George Lucas/‘Robot Chicken’ collab we may never see.

Good to see people helping Jonathan Rinzler out - seems they reached their goal quite quickly too.

Edit…

Remembering Jonathan Rinzler, bestselling author of ‘Star Wars’ books’:-

‘Jonathan Rinzler, who wrote under the name J.W. Rinzler, died peacefully on July 28 at his home in Albion after an 11-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 58.’

I think Rey can still want revenge against Palpatine without her parents needing to be noble. Firstly, they were still her parents, and despite the level of abuse/neglect implied by literally selling her into slavery, she’d still probably be opposed to them being murdered, especially since she doesn’t remember them well enough to harbour any personal grudge. Secondly, he’s Palpatine: he’s responsible for a huge amount of death, for turning Ben and starting the First Order (and thus getting Han, Luke and Leia killed), and is actively trying to kill the rest of her friends. Difficult guy to not want some kind of revenge on.

Why? The point of TLJ is that she doesn’t care about her parents anymore and now has to stick with the Resistance for validation, because she wasted all those years for nothing caring about awful, drunken parents who neglected her. She’d want them to suffer for neglecting her and believing she was nothing.

Having her go back to caring about them regresses that.

As Hal has requested this topic doesn’t continue in this thread for the time being, any further discussion of Rey Nobody should be done in the Rey Nobody thread.

TestingOutTheTest - I strongly suggest you follow Hal’s request, and CaptainFaraday’s reminder.

And stop continually taking this thread, and also other fan edit threads, off topic.

There won’t be any more requests or warnings.

Top 5 Frustrating Fox Star Wars U.S. Home Video Decisions (From the Star Wars Home Video Library)’

www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyGl9wa05S0 - a 33 minute video from Nathan Butler youtube channel

^ the 2006 GOUT DVD content starts at 22 mins 22 seconds into the video.

A decent recap / overview on the 2006 GOUT DVD release at the time. The whole of the video is well worth a watch. 👍

The OOT has been officially unavailable for almost a decade now’ thread from January 2021 is also well worth a read.

That the 2006 GOUT ‘bonus disc’ DVDs were meant to only be available for 4 months (September to December 2006) - and yet despite the obvious and well known quality issues with the content… it wasn’t until ‘April 2011, the 2006 GOUT DVDs ceased production, and were sold in stores up until September 2011, just before the Blu-rays were released.’

5 years being the “Limited Edition” - and also “for a limited time”!

The Sequel Trilogy: Trilogized (a Work In Progress)

Dr. Krogshöj said:

I feel that seeing the Sith fleet rise right after Luke restores the spark of hope in the galaxy would negate his heroics to soon after his sacrifice.

There never should’ve been a continuation of TLJ. Ever. The canon timeline, not just the main saga, should’ve just ended at the boy looking at the stars with hope. Period. End of story. Zilch.

Continuing the story and creating any new threats AFTER TLJ strips away any emotional impact from Luke’s sacrifice and inspiring the galaxy with hope, even if TFA and TLJ, themselves, remain untouched. Because what was the point of Luke’s sacrifice if TROS or DOTF or whatever continuation even exists? It was all for nothing since Palpatine came back anyways in TROS, or Kylo was gonna search for some planet-destroying Force ability in DOTF or the Resistance struggled against the FO in both Episode IX’s.

Nah, I’m just kidding. Do you not understand that everything is temporary? You really think it only matters if it lasts forever? By your logic, TFA destroys ROTJ’s ending by destroying the Republic and Jedi and resurrecting the Empire. Logan destroys the previous movie’s ending by turning the world into an apocalypse and killing off all the mutants. Civil War destroys The Avengers from 2012 by having them break up. Nothing ever lasts forever. Everything is always temporary.

Besides, TLJ was always gonna have a sequel.

You’ve had numerous requests and warnings to for this type of post to stop in the Edits section. Kindly knock it off - thank you.

Boonta Eve originated on Droids?

Yes mate 😃

General Grievous’ ‘wheel bike’ also first appeared on Droids, I think Bogden (the swamp planet) was first mentioned in Droids - and the Baobab family too (also mentioned later in the Prequels?)

‘Kybo Ren’ too.

Quite disturbing the useless information that stays in the mind - yet the more important stuff… no chance!

So happy to see this!

Is this the first time that the first story (The White Witch saga) has been commercially available?

Definitely been up and available on youtube 😉 I think it may have been on released on VHS - but not on the DVD releases?

the ugnaught, Video Collector, or pittrek would likely know for sure (they’ve all done preservations for Droids previously).
