True, however, I think that quote is simply being used as a bullet point heading. In 1977 Vader was not Anakin so the problem is a post ESB one. Obi-wan isn’t shocked to see his friend on the Death Star because his old pupil was always just Darth Vader. Once he’s changed to be Luke’s father in 1980 there are more gaps to fill. Obviously there have been further retcons since and they meet in a TV series.
I don’t think the quote was simply being used as a bullet point, as OP made a specific entry for it. Point 14 already addressed what you’re saying about Obi-Wan and Vader, so there was no need to add point 15 unless it was to talk about that particular quote.
And since I’ve already seen the quote used incorrectly a few times (for example, I remember seeing people use it to justify Obi-Wan and Vader meeting in the Kenobi show, because “how could Obi-Wan know Vader’s more machine than man at the beginning of ANH?”), I just wanted to point it out.
By the way, I’m not trying to defend the many inconsistencies that exist between the OT and PT, it’s usually the thing that annoys me the most about the franchise!
The quote was indeed used as a bullet point, as far as I can remember (it was written / compiled some time ago) 😉.
The intent / context was ‘how does Obi Wan know Anakin is Vader’ and the evil and twisted exploits being carried out by Vader. It wasn’t meant as a literal Kenobi comparison quote from ROTJ - because as everyone knows… Kenobi has already fought him on the first Death Star (though as Mocata stated above, at the time of Star Wars '77, Anakin and Vader were indeed two completely separate characters; I never like to miss a relevant opportunity to bring that up). 👍
I probably shouldn’t have used a literal ROTJ quote for that bullet point if it somehow led people to mistakenly jump on that - seemingly the context and relevance of that bullet point post got lost in using that ROTJ quote to try and illustrate that aspect of the actual topic; plus the ‘best guess’ scenario as Obi-Wan may have heard news and rumours about Vader and his exploits whilst living in hiding - yet was unable to do anything about it. My apologies for any confusion.
It is also probably worth remembering this is an ‘unfinished draft’ - as stated in the opening sentence of the thread (and it was really never finished; only really being posted ‘as is’) - which is also highlighted later in the thread, too.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone complaining about that.
It really isn’t ‘complaining’ to chronicle and highlight issues that fans had with the disconnects and issues between the Original Trilogy and the Prequels, is it?

“Dan Gilroy wrote an amazing, entirely self-contained episode that was episode 209,” Gilroy reveals, referring to his brother and Andor writer. “It was an amazing episode that was like a horror movie.”
So what exactly happened in this scrapped K-2SO horror movie episode that was originally slated to be episode 9 of season 2? “It was the K2 story,” Gilroy explains. “They had to bring this huge ugly tanker ship to Yavin, and there was a KX unit that was trapped inside there hunting. It was sort of like a monster movie with K2 on it. It was really cool.”
As for why the entire episode never made it to the filming stage, it came down to a matter of economics. “We could not afford to do it,” sighs Gilroy. “It was made clear that it was out of the range, so we had to abandon that and consolidate things.”

“We made as many concessions as we could, but it was still a huge gamble on their part to keep going and still a huge ask. So thank you, Disney, and thank you Lucasfilm. It was lot of tough conversations and a lot of anxiety, but really, in the end, they really backed our play.”

In general, simply sending a PM is the default way of asking for fan projects on here (unless indicated / instructed otherwise in the project thread)… Reading through the actual thread also helps - sometimes there are kind members helping each other out with links.
^ Fellow members are more likely to help you out if you are a participating member of the community here; you don’t have to be a fellow fan editor, preservationist, tech wiz, artistic or skilled etc… just a member that has made, or is making, an effort.
Please note that cluttering up the project threads with ‘link request’ posts is not only poor form - but is also against the rules & guidelines here - the reasons for which can be found below…

Why not use that time to look around and see how this community forum functions, our site rules & fan project rules, read through any of the pinned ‘Index & Help’ & ‘How Do I Do This?’ threads, as well as any of the fan project threads that may be interest you - and join in the conversations on here.
Leave some feedback or reviews for projects you have previously seen. Or join in the discussions about the Original Trilogy - or the wider Galaxy Far Far Away. Or participate in the discourse here on film, tv, music, art, books & comics, gaming, tech, history, sports… or life in general etc. Read up on how some of the many fan projects on here are made / evolve / come together - or check out the talented artists’ cover artwork, and budding authors’ stories, script-writing, and re-writes.
Simply becoming an active and participating member of the community on here means a significantly better chance of others helping you out in acquiring any fan projects you may be looking for…

The whole film festival looks really intriguing and if it anything like their previous film festivals you’re hopefully in for a treat. The BFI certainly know how to put on a good show - and their love of film and respect for film fans really comes across.
Even their old outdoor film screenings are something else - and so much thought and work goes into them.
The blurb: For this early release of the podcast, I’m taking you behind the scenes at the BFI National Archive in Berkhamsted. The reason for the early drop? Tickets for the BFI’s excellent Film on Film Festival go on sale to the public tomorrow, 9th May 2025, and I wanted to give you a bit of insight into what makes this event so special. The Film on Film Festival runs from the 12th to the 15th of June and is dedicated entirely to screenings on physical film – from 35mm to 16mm, and even nitrate. It’s a rare opportunity to experience films as they were originally shown, in all their analogue glory. While at the archive, I spoke with several of the experts who help make the festival possible and who work daily to preserve the history of cinema. You’ll hear from:

Last night’s episodes were amazing. I know that is the word going around online as well. Just… wow.
Compelling, wasn’t it? I was glued to the screen for all 2.5 hours; the stories, immersion, tension, build-ups, acting, monologues, costuming, action sequences, payoffs, the unpredictability, the surprises… as well as the usual high-end standards of direction, cinematography, editing, and sound… the whole range of emotions… it was exhausting to watch - in such a great enveloping manner.
The whole series has been a joy to experience - and feel like a big kid again in waiting impatiently until next week’s finale.
All credit and kudos for them sticking the landing with respecting and adhering to the ‘canon’ - with both more recently portrayals of events - and also the long past EU from the era of WEG Sourcebooks etc… beautifully and organically executed.
The whole show is a masterclass.
