I really dig the Remnant Stormtrooper. I would love to see the post-ROTJ flesh out some different Remnant factions more that all have a different look to them.

Kenner just found a use for all those old faded stormtroopers from the Original Trilogy they’ve had lying around the factory for years! 😃

Cool figures, I hope we see more Mandalorian merchandise soon.

Me three on having separate threads for each season (for whatever it is worth 😃) It’d sure make it easier to find certain topics from the show - 20 pages on season one already - it is a lot to go through.

And not put off anyone coming late to the series for whenever they are able to get or receive Disney+ too.

Just my preference - no biggie.

The FE Renegades thread; from the people who post ‘go kill yourself’, ‘fuck you’, ‘let’s throw abuse’, and more at OT staff & members. Four years on and still throwing accusations, slurs and abuse at the OT & anyone outside their Salacious Crumb filled clique. + FE Discord “to vent” more at the OT. Wook’s take.

I strongly suspect a couple of those figures will be on my desk at work very soon. I am digging Cara. She really took on some nice depth in the last two episodes. Hope to see more of her next season.

I just posted this on the Beyond the OT Documentaries thread, but figured it made sense to share it here as well.

The Virtual Production of The Mandalorian, Season One
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUnxzVOs3rk - from the ILMVFX YouTube channel (4:40 mins long)

The blurb:
“A behind the scenes look at the groundbreaking virtual production technology used on The Mandalorian, Season One. Over 50 percent of The Mandalorian Season 1 was filmed using this ground-breaking new methodology, eliminating the need for location shoots entirely. Instead, actors in The Mandalorian performed in an immersive and massive 20’ high by 270-degree semicircular LED video wall and ceiling with a 75’-diameter performance space, where the practical set pieces were combined with digital extensions on the screens.”

So Phil Tippet has expressed interest in The Mandalorian. It’s just a twitter conversation between him and Favreau so far, but it’d be fun if something actually came out of it.

I suppose Tippet could make another holochess effect like he did for TFA. Other tham that I’m not really sure what else he’d could de on a modern show like this.

So I’m rewatching the show and it just occurred to me, we never find out who it really was that went back for the body of the dead assassin lady on Tatooine, do we?

I tried pausing it and it really does look like it might be Mando but it’s impossible to tell for certain.

That is one beautiful talented lady, and a decent actress too. I’m not familiar with her MMA work, yet she brings not just a physicality to the show but also a great spirit to it.

Looking forward to seeing more of her character in season two 😃

I will admit to having a crush on her myself. Her first episode was a sort of stock tough girl shows the tough guy a thing or two. It was well done, but not surprising. That said, even near the end of that episode she was already shown as a bit deeper than the average tough girl. I enjoyed the episode and enjoyed her work.

She quickly became a deeper character. With the season ending two parter, she just about stole the show. Excellent work. I think I stated somewhere else how fantastic I think she is in the show. And yes, she’s absolutely gorgeous.

Regarding the above speculation: I really don’t know who it may be. Could be Fett, but I hope not. Not a fan of him post-TESB.

If it was Mando, why keep it mysterious? Why not show us?

It’s Boba Fett.

Probably. Ugh…I REALLY hope not, though.

If that’s legit, I will be beyond excited as Ahsoka is my favorite Star Wars character! Also the fact that Rosario Dawson has been interested in being cast for live action Ahsoka for some time now, she must clearly care about the role.

Unpopular opinion but I think for a show that’s already 60% fan service, this is a little too much on Filon’s part.
I could be wrong though and if it serves the story well it could be fantastic, we will see.

It seems she’s mainly a voice actress, but couldn’t Ashley Eckstein play Ahsoka in a live action show too?

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

Oh boy… Here come the Jedis…
Boooo.

What’s wrong with Jedi? They’re literally the cornerstone of the entire franchise. It’s pretty unreasonable not to expect them in some form. Go watch Star Trek if you want soft sci-fi with no mystical powers.

I honestly wish Filoni would just let Ashoka die already. Or be uninvolved. Not that I dislike the character, but I think he’s already crossed into writing-fanfiction-with-his-OC territory.

Her sendoff in the finale of TCW season 5 was already a good ending, but she came back in Rebels. Her defeat by Vader on Malachor made up for it by being an even more emotional ending for her. But then she even survives that, to even after ROTJ! Then Filoni doubles down to before all this and says that Ashoka actually talked to Anakin after she left the Jedi Order, they apparently made up, and she led the Siege of Mandalore against Maul. Essentially, he took away the impact of both times her story ended, just to keep her alive or involved in the story. I think Ashoka was a great character, but Filoni has made her more important and powerful at the expense of a satisfying arc or reason. Her existence is purely fanservice at this point.

I kind of wished they did try to de-age Hamill for Luke or something. If Din really needs to meet a Jedi.

This. Use the guy while he is still alive and healthy, for the life of me I don’t get what’s stopping them from getting a young Luke and Ben series going asap.

lol Calm Down. It just suits my personal canon better the fewer Jedis we have running around.

If done right, (and I think it could be) I’d absolutely love that.

Not to be that guy, but wouldn’t Star Wars be the “soft” sci-fi in contrast to the “hard” science-fiction of Star Trek?

Both are soft. Once you look past the technobabble, Star Trek has almost no scientific accuracy. Hard sci-fi, at least in my definition, is stuff that has at least the scientific accuracy of the movie Interstellar. That movie is the bar that separates “hard” from “soft” for me.

Okay, I’ll relax. But I disagree with your idea that Ahsoka making a cameo means we’ll get a prequel situation with loads of boring Jedi everywhere. If you watched Clone Wars and Rebels, you’d know that Ahsoka isn’t your typical Jedi.

I’d also like something like that to happen, but I’m cautiously optimistic if it can be pulled off convincingly. Disney won’t keep pouring unlimited money into this show, so the effects will get more “TV” as the show goes on. De-aging effects look great in high-budget movies, but I’m not so sure if it can work here.
