^ Still no trailer for season 2 - so here’s a little reminder for what is likely to come…

www.youtube.com/watch?v=48yRM9XDjG8 - a 2+ minute video from the SWFT youtube channel.
The blurb: ‘A short montage about the implementation and consequences of the Public Order Resentencing Directive in Andor.’
A quality ‘countdown clock’ for the start of Andor’s 2nd season…
Skinny jeans are an awful attempt to being back the drainpipe jeans of the early 80’s and make them ‘fashionable’ again. Just no. Feck off.
Plus they should be cheaper than regular jeans as there’s a lot less material used.
In summary, while some scientists and philosophers argue that Free Willy is an illusion due to the deterministic nature of the universe, others maintain that Free Willy can be real even within a deterministic framework. The existence of Free Willy remains a contentious issue without a definitive resolution.
and it is this conversation that isn’t…

Said with so many positive waves that even Willy could surf them into reality (not that he’d need to, of course).

www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SAlc8Qhtrc - a 5 minute video at the Obsolete Video youtube channel.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoV-9eKrW_M - a 3 minute video at the SWNS youtube channel.
The blurb: 'The owner of the UK’s longest surviving DVD rental store is surprised that business is thriving - 40 years after they opened.
Colin Richards, 71, opened TVL Allstar Video in Haverhill, Suffolk, UK in 1984 and it originally started as a company that leased video tapes to other shops.
He then decided to start renting films and the store now has around 8,500 DVDs including Forrest Gump - which has been borrowed at least 2,000 times.’

Nice - thank you (and good luck with the project). 👍

‘An Interview With Former Star Wars Modeler Lorne Peterson’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WP5MKWGCrs - a 41 minute video at the Adam Savage’s Tested youtube channel.
The blurb: 'Adam Savage interviews Academy Award-winning special effects artist Lorne Peterson, whose work includes Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Last Ark, Star Wars and E.T. An industry veteran, Lorne gives Adam his thoughts on the current state of filmmaking and shares what it was like being a pioneer of modern-day cinema, thinking out of the box and mastering the art of creative problem solving. What an honor!
NOTE: This video was filmed before 32TEN Studios was closed permanently, and its contents auctioned off. More interviews conducted by Adam in this iconic building are forthcoming; more on the closure here: www.northbaybusinessjournal.com/article/article/its-a-fade-to-black-for-historic-marin-county-movie-studios-known-for-sta/'.

The blurb: ‘Original soundtrack composed and conducted by John Williams
Performed by The London Symphony Orchestra’.
Some more background music from the OT era…

‘Star Wars: Original Trilogy Music Mix (Relaxing, Nostalgic) VHS Sound Quality’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMywm5W8T9c - a 2 hour video from the Helix youtube channel.
The blurb: ‘Sit back and enjoy the nostalgic sounds of the original VHS-audio soundtracks–specifically a relaxing mix of low-energy or calm theme songs without combat music or too much drama. For some of us, Star Wars was just the Original Trilogy for over 20 years, before any serious new movies came out. 20 years of games, books, comics, shows, and more…all dreaming of what the original three established for us. This music mix is for a quick trip back to that time–a time when we still didn’t even know what the Clone Wars looked like, and we could only dream. And a time when crossed wires and old, heavily-used tapes from Blockbuster sounded a little rough. But we made do. 😃’

‘Is the Fanhome R2D2 Still Worth It One Year Later?’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=opoRw3A1yDQ - 20 minute video at the Your Geek Fix youtube channel.
The blurb: ‘Fanhome is re-launching their “Build Your Own R2-D2,” a fully functional ½ scale model of the screen used prop. This is the same R2-D2 you can watch us build box-by-box to completion. We also plan to build another R2, thanks to Fanhome, and will attempt their recommended paint apps and weathering. Join us as we review our experience and give advice to those considering purchasing this model.’.

‘Was Fanhome Worth It?’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra3uTh3ZF2U - a 24 minute video at the Your Geek Fix yuotube channel.
The blurb: ‘After two years, we have completed the Fanhome R2D2 and Iron Man. Now it is time to answer the question we asked two years ago, “Is it worth it?” Join us as we review our experience and give advice to those considering purchasing these models’.

‘Star Wars Myths! | MythBusters | Season 9 Episode 28 | Full Episode’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=puLSHtiK_XE - a 49 minute video from the official Mythbusters youtube cvhannel.
The blurb: 'Not so long ago, in a workshop not so far, far away, a band of rebel scientists, striking from a hidden base in San Francisco tested 3 Star Wars myths and restored common sense to the galaxy!
Using science as a tool, Hollywood special effects experts attempt to debunk rumours, urban legends and popular myths that have captivated the minds of many individuals. #MythBusters #FactOrFiction’

‘The Biggest Vintage Star Wars Collection Goes On Sale!’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MQQXDP_ROE - 17 minute video from the The Padawan Collector youtube channel.
The blurb: ‘The Jacob vintage Star Wars collection recently went on auction with some of the rarest Star Wars toys on the planet. Let’s see what the top vintage items sold for.’
A bit too much of ‘the highest possible grading in the world’ for me 😉 Yet an insightful video all the same… especially given some of the eye watering prices that some of these OT pieces went for (plus a few vintage pieces from outside the GFFA).

‘The STAR WARS Trilogy | A Complete Retrospective - 1’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMF1PgaIdJk - a 2 hour 40 minute video from the Prime’s Theater youtube channel.
The blurb: 'It’s the mid-1970s, and George Lucas is working on his most ambitious movie yet: a space opera following rebels, imperials, wizards, and space-ships.
Little did anyone know that it would become one of the biggest and most revolutionary movies of all time.
Take a journey from 1973 to 1983 to witness the creation, triumphs, and defeats of the original Star Wars trilogy. From the creation of the story to the dawn of ILM and even to the great reception over time.’
I haven’t watch it myself as yet - but have heard good things about it from people that have.

‘The Best Scene in Star Wars’:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4_sehO3VM0 - an 8 minute video from the EC Henry youtube channel.
The blurb: ‘Star Wars is full of great writing and amazing scenes. But is this scene in A New Hope the best scene in the saga? It just might be, but maybe for reasons you wouldn’t expect!’

‘Star Wars Home Video Trivia: Questions 1 - 10 (Hosted by Nathan P. Butler)’ - 11 minute video:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-9cwQwn0xw
The blurb: ‘Nathan P. Butler asks Star Wars home video trivia questions (and provides answers at the end). The audience is invited to play along and post their scores. Each video includes 10 questions, and viewers may keep track of their score for a single episode or the series as a whole (hence numbering each episode for the next 10, rather than starting back at 1 each time)’.
I got 7/10 (and am quite happy with that).
A lot of fun - and well presented and hosted by Nathan (as ever). Looking forward to more…
You may want to ask any questions for 4K80 in the 4K80 thread? - In the Star Wars Preservation forum. 👍
It may also be worth skimming through the 4K80 thread to see if your questions have already been answered.
| If anyone would like links to any of the available Original Trilogy preservations listed in here… send me a PM - thank you. 👍 |
|---|
^ So please do NOT make any ‘request for links’ posts in this thread - and actually send me a PM, instead. Thanks.
The reason why there is a 30+ post requirement for these 300+ projects… is to try and encourage members to engage more as a community on here - to join in with the discussions across the various forums. Maybe learning about how projects are made, and consider undertaking their own project - or just chill out and talk about the OT, the GFFA, and film & TV… or life in general.
A bit like it used to be on here - before the influx of newer members only asking for links - not leaving any feedback or reviews - nor joining in with any of the discussions across the forums. Not even trying to help fellow members by answering questions or pointing them to relevant threads and useful info. Or often not bothering to read the rules about the place - or look up or learn on how to ask for a project on here… instead just filling up project threads with unnecessary ‘link request’ posts… and little else.
^ So this is an attempt to remedy that… to get back to how things used to function quite well on here… and also serve as a reminder that anyone can become a helpful and valued asset to the unique community… that is this old-school Rebel base. 👍
You don’t have to be a fan editor, preservationist, tech wiz, artistic or skilled etc… just be a member that is making an effort on here.
