Need an Original Trilogy Discussion Category

I think we need a category strictly dedicated to the OT; SW77, TESB, and ROTJ. We should move all topics related to it such as early drafts, script re-writing, preservations and fan-edits, artwork etc., into this new category. This is OT.com afterall.

A good idea! More Original Trilogy discussions in view on the site is best 😃
I like and enjoy the rest of Star Wars, but the Original Trilogy is why I am here, and many others too?

So I guess this happened?

It is a slow process and will take a good while to sift through each of the 5000+ threads (202 pages) and put everything in the correct / most relevant section.

There may be some overlaps / crossover for a few threads or topics of conversation - though we’re always happy to hear all your thoughts and views on them, and in which section some threads may be more suited.
 

We’ll let everyone know when all the moving of threads is finally complete (or we think it is all done! 😃)

(26th December Edit: all the threads from the old ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ section have now been moved into their new sections… please let us know if you think we have made any mistakes and some threads are in the wrong section - thank you 😃
 
 

The main aim of this change was to slim down and re-organise the main ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ section; 5000+ threads was just got too large a place. With more new Star Wars releases on the way we thought it best to separate the Original Trilogy discussions (and also what the site is about - being able to watch the unaltered theatrical versions of the Original Trilogy, the suppression of the OOT & why, George’s claims & decisions, the various OT releases - and continuing changes made to them, and early site history / evolving OT preservation projects & OT fan edits etc) - from the other Star Wars content.

In doing so it seemed logical to also have an ‘Expanded Universe’ section too - featuring discussions on Star Wars books & comics, games & gaming, soundtracks & music, documentaries & spoofs, homages & fan films, fan clubs & cons, theme parks & rides etc.

Hopefully it should also make threads / discussions on certain subjects a little easier to find too…

I love the new sections, especially having an Original Trilogy specific forum. But man, I got a take a break for a while - so much negativity and toxicity around of late. I hope to be back soon when it dials back a bit.

All the threads from the old ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ section have now been moved into their new sections…

30th December Edit: The Index Threads for the three ‘new’ categories have been updated too 😃

Please let us know if you think we have made any mistakes - that some threads are in the wrong section etc - or if you’d like certain threads added to the Index Threads etc thank you 😃

If there is enough demand to separate them… this may change - though we don’t think it’ll happen anytime soon, mate.

Thank for explanation above, ooj. In the future would the mods please consider separating the ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ from ‘The Expanded Universe’ - placing them into a different section?

It would make it a lot easier to navigate through the topics in there and make them more distinct from each other.

Perhaps, move the ‘General Star Wars Discussion’ section in with the quieter ‘Toys & Memorabilia’ section instead?
