I’m looking forward to Limited Run Games getting its hands on Jedi outcast and Jedi academy for PS4

After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.

Played a bit of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast on the PS4 and it’s pretty unforgiving (I didn’t even finish the first level)! You have to save very often (there’s no autosave) and you have to go to the menus to do so, it becomes tiring real quick. They should’ve mapped a quick save to a button on the controller. Health and shield refills are very scarce (they don’t refill automatically after a few seconds like in modern games), and when the stormtroopers hit you they hit you hard! I may have to activate the cheat menu…

One more thing for the purists out there: there is an option for the original 4/3 aspect ratio, thanks the maker. (16/9 is just stretched 4/3 and it looks ugly)

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

‘Hone your podracing skills in Star Wars™ Racer Revenge. This classic @starwars game gets a Limited Run for the PlayStation 4 this Friday, October 18 at 10am & 6pm ET on http://limitedrungames.com

A shame Lucasfilm don’t link up with the likes of Criterion for a release of the Holiday Special, Droids, Ewoks, or the two Ewok theatrical films… in the same way they link up with gaming companies who want to see some old classics out there.

So excited for Racer Revenge! I love collecting physical media and it’s just really cool.

Racer Revenge has been available in the Playstation store for a while. I snagged it last year and played the first couple races, but really I’d have preferred a port of the original, since that’s the one that I played the hell out of as a kid.

To be “that guy” and bring it back to tabletop again, has anyone screwed around with Fantasy Flight’s pen and paper RPG? I scored two of the three core rulebooks on sale a little while ago and would like to try to run a game for my D&D group; I’m wondering if there’s anyone with experience here that I could DM about it with.

Project Maverick…

Who are they kidding with that price! I think I paid that much a couple of months after it was released.

Any good? Pod Racing is the only thing from the PT that I like. Despite hating the drivers & the race itself, I love the designs & idea. Seems very Star Wars & hits my hotrod button.

Is it even a remake of Jedi Academy, or just a port of the old game?
Looks like a port. Looks awful.

It was fun, but I didn’t stick with it. Combination of being so used to playing the first game with the very different N64 controller, and just having other more current stuff to play, I guess. I’d like to pick it up again (and replay the original, if that’s going to be available too), but I’m quarantining at my folks’ place in my hometown and I left my PS4 at my apartment in New York and god knows when the hell I’ll be able to go back for it.

Speaking of quarantine, I found a really solid dice-based AI system for X-Wing the other day, if anyone else is going out of their skin wanting to play some tabletop stuff. It was designed for 1.0, but it works fine with 2.0 as long as you aren’t using any ships that didn’t exist in the first edition.

I know there are also systems for Legion and Armada, but I don’t play either of those so I can’t say whether or not they’re any good.

I never even knew EpI Racer had a sequel. But then again I was more of an F-Zero fan.

Looks about the same. An actual upgrade of JKII and JA together in the same package might be worth it, but proper remakes take more effort I guess.

That’s bizarre seeing a new N64 cart in a reproduction 1990’s Kenner Hasbro action figure blister pack.
Though the prices are nuts considering you can get an original cart for a fraction of that price…That said N64 prices are going sky high because of nostalgia. Racer and Shadows can go for well over $20 for carts only. Mario party, Mario 64, Goldeneye, Star Fox and Smash bros are cray cray prices.

I tried Racer revenge back in the day as a rental but remember it as being like super bombad racing: it felt like a generic racer with a SW skin on it.

I remember Clone Wars being pretty good on a friends xbox. The one I never got to was bounty Hunter and I need to fix that.

The good reviews for the Atari SW/ESB/ROTJ Arcade1Up are very nice to see. I’m amazed they were able to replicate the Atari controller. I’d love to try one out to see how it compares. Admittedly I’m spoiled in that my local arcade as a really good condition SW83 machine. Another farther out has a SW and ROTJ machine. I really hate the ROTJ game as it’s impossible and at that awful angle of play. I’d love to finally play ESB in person again-I haven’t played it since childhood in an arcade.

Bounty Hunter was actually really good. It was the only prequel related thing that actually felt like genuine Star Wars at the time. And it’s one of the only prequel related things I can think of that I’d actually be willing to pay money to revisit.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
I like this game: Beautiful graphics, plot, combat system
Overall no flaws
Finally, a more or less high-quality product has appeared in the Star Wars universe. Films that have been recently stamped with astonishing regularity are only taken with special effects and vivid fights.
Another thing is the game. And "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, to some extent compensates for the endless expectation of a huge army of Star Wars fans to get at least something worthy.

Now, players will be able to fly iconic Star Wars starfighters wherever they are in this new mobile game.”

Any ideas on how to fix the aspect ratio on the OS X (non-Steam) version of KOTOR? I fired it up for the first time in almost a year yesterday, and while it used to run pillarboxed in 4:3, now it stretches to 16:9 and doesn’t offer me any obvious way to adjust it (I’ve gathered from googling around that this issue has something to do with the update to Catalina). I can find numerous tutorials for patching the Windows version to open the field of view and run in true widescreen, but I’m seeing nothing for the Mac version. Of course, I’d love to get it working with real widescreen, but I’d happily settle for just getting it to work like it used to.

I don’t know, last time I tried to run original CD-ROM version of KOTOR (not even DVD!) it had all kinds of problems.

Clone Wars was okay from what I remember, though it felt like a step down from Rogue Squadron 2. At least the on foot parts where better then RS3 though. I don’t remember Bounty Hunter being great though.

The Pros and Cons of Buying This Classic ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy Sit-Down Arcade Cabinet’:-

If only they did the old enclosed sit-down cabinet, knocked a fair few $$$ off - or added in the SW Trilogy Arcade game, then…

If only they would have done this instead:

Many 10p coins spent on that as a kid 😃

Edit, just saw ooj’s line saying the same. Must read more before posting excitedly like a kid!

Beautiful cabinet, saw a video not long aog claiming only 2500 were ever built. I assume there are not many left at all now.

30 years since this was released, be great if they re-did / updated it…

It does indeed! And both the stand-up cabinet and sit-down cabinet are $500 😃

I think eveyone will order the sit-down cabinet if it is the same price!

It also looks like someone good with their hands could build an ‘overhead and back’ section for the sit-down cabinet, and make it look similar to the old site-down arcade cabinets from the 1980’s?

(It is still far too much money for me - but I love the idea)

I think I still have that buried away in a drawer somewhere - may have to see if it will still work.

A shame the talks for a later HD remake of it were shelved too:-

I’ve taken advantage of all this quarantine downtime to finally get set up with the Star Wars: Legion tabletop game. I just finished painting my core set squads last night. I’ve got a couple tauntauns for the Rebels and an E-web cannon for the Empire on order that should be here by the end of the week. Man, these are fun to do.

Those look great! I’m not a table top gamer, but I love miniature things and model building. I bought a pile of Bandai Star Wars models recently when BigBadToyStore had a really good sale on them.
