This show is really heating up. Descent was the best episode yet. All of the character building will benefit the story for the big event about to go down.
It’s going to be a great year for Star Wars with this, plus The Mandalorian, and then Episode IX!
This is the most kiddie of the series they’ve produced so far, but man the end of the most recent episode has got to be one of the darkest moments I’ve seen on any of these shows by far.

The fact that we see Hux’s speech and immediately followed by Hosnian Prime’s destruction might contradict Restructured, but in my head I would just argue that his speech was placed before the destruction for the broadcast. Speaking of which, how exactly did the First Order record that footage of Hosnian being destroyed? Eh, nitpicky question.
I imagine they’d want to have cameras or whatever recording and broadcasting to strike fear throughout the galaxy and such.

Can I skip season 1 and still know what’s going on? Also, will I like the second season if I didn’t like the first one? I watched a bit of season 1 and hated it for its slapstick comedy and pedestrian conflicts.

The show’s still on season 1 (finale is next week I think). But you could probably jump in midway through the season and not miss much. The slapstick comedy doesn’t really go away (though it is less prominent), but the conflicts are definitely much less pedestrian.
Honestly, I could possibly see a tv-to-movie edit of the first season being done. I don’t think the humor is really that bad, but maybe could just make a 2-hour movie that just kept the gist of the season. Though I think one benefit of it being covered over an entire season is how you see the First Order slowly taking control of the Colossus. It isn’t something that happens overnight, but they flex their authority overtime see how far they can take it.

Though the cynic in me thinks whilst they’ll release this on DVD… yet for those that want it in HD they’ll have to cough up the $3 per episode on Amazon Prime Video - or the $40 for the whole season - or fork out for the coming Disney+ service.
I do hope we see a blu ray soon.

Disney releases some of their Disney Channel stuff on DVD only like the Descendent films and it’s really annoying
Also Lucas’s Strange Magic was DVD only
After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.
After the way Disney treated that movie, it’s no wonder Lucas was a little pissed in that interview where he made the white slavers remark.

I am very excited for season 2! Apparently Daveed Diggs is in it. Plus I am hoping to see Kix from TCW, as he is in the Crimson’s Corsair’s crew. Also Hutt hype!

A good start to season 2 of the show.
I will not post spoilers but liked that the new episode continued from the last moments of the season 1. A shame it was not a double episode to start the season - and looking forward to next week.

I mean they might be, but this wouldn’t really be an indication. It’s a fairly common marketing tactic these days (I believe they even did the same thing with the first episode of season 1).
Anyone know if this is on Disney+ and if so if they have all the up to date episodes? Wondering if they’ll end up there as they air, would be nice to finally watch on my TV (one of the reasons I’m behind).

Finally caught up and while there are some great episodes which explore some deeper themes, they’re largely left alone and the majority of the episodes are filler at best.
I’m sure after the seasons been completed they could be edited into an interesting film.

I completely agree - the past few episodes have been amongst the best they’ve done - and also seem to coincide with events from around TROS too which is a nice touch. The fan editor geniuses on here should have no problem making a decent movie-length edit, or even a mini-series.
The penultimate episode of the season (earlier today) was neatly done too - and am looking forward to next week’s finale.
