Time

Creator Tony Gilroy on Giving ANDOR a Hopeful Ending | Series Finale Deep Dive

www.youtube.com/watch?v=21FS7CVClxo - 46 minute video interview from the IndieWire youtube channel.

The blurb: ‘The “Andor” creator reflects on his decade-long “Star Wars” journey, from the blunt email that got him the show, to the decisions that lead to Season 2’s unusual structure, and of course deciding where to leave each of the fascinating characters. Watch the master storyteller explain his craft on this episode of the Filmmaker Toolkit.’

^ also with some handy chapters and descriptions. Some really intriguing and insightful points made by Tony Gilroy here.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM_Ayry2ypM -a 35 minute Q&A video from the The Imperial Communique youtube channel.

The blurb: 'One in a series of programs and special screenings presented at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. This seminar celebrates “Andor,” the Disney+ sci-fi series which is a prequel to the theatrical “Star Wars” spinoff “Rogue One.”

The panelists touch on such topics as: how working on a series that was fully written before production began gave the actors greater liberty to track their character’s story arc’s across the entire season; the epic scale of the production and Diego Luna’s appreciation for the production team’s attention to detail in creating an authentic universe, including practical sets and working props, for the actor’s to inhabit; how the covid pandemic informed Tony Gilroy’s writing process; Adria Arjona’s approach to pivotal scenes; Genevieve O’Reilly’s memories of filming “Mon Mothma’s” stirring speech from the third block of episodes in season two, and more.

Questions from Paley members then lead to a discussion of the following topics: how the actors collaborated with the costume designer on Andor’s stunning and intricate costumes, and whether a soundtrack including the fan-favorite EDM/rave-like music from episode three will be released.’

Watch clips from the new season, along with behind-the-scenes insights — into the characters, the show’s bold narrative structure, its political undercurrents, its human-scale storytelling — and stories from working with stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Forest Whitaker, and more. How Andor Broke Every Rule of Star Wars (And Won)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_OzCitR6Vc - an 18 minute video at the Robbo youtube channel.

The blurb: 'First released in 2022, Andor has reached widespread acclaim from both inside and outside the Star Wars fandom. But it is not their success that’s surprising. It’s their approach.

Because while every other show has tried to BE Star Wars, the creators of Andor wanted their show to be Anti-Star Wars. So, how does a show that breaks every rule that Disney has for Star Wars, create arguably the most widely acclaimed Star Wars show ever made?’

You Don’t Have To Know Anything About “Star Wars” To Watch “Andor” - Tony Gilroy

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGAWOF5TtnE - 8 minute video from the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert youtube channel.

The blurb: ‘Peabody-winning writer and director Tony Gilroy is the creator and executive producer of “Andor,” a series that Gilroy says is accessible to everyone, whether or not they are a “Star Wars” fan. “Andor” is streaming now on Disney+.’

It’s time for Star Wars to move beyond the legacy characters.

“I am so grateful to George [Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called ‘Star Wars’ ‘the most expensive low-budget movie ever made. We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I’m appreciative of that, but I think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.”

OK
I am back here after 7 days , But author last activity is a year ago! how can i get the links? if you have them send me thank you.

So you chose NOT to become a member of the community - or make any effort on here at all - and instead chose to return here after 7 days expecting to be given the links for these projects?

Did you not read the actual posts in the links above? In there, it states what to do if a fan project creator is not around the site anymore to give out links to their projects.

It also states that ‘simply becoming an active and participating member of the community on here means a significantly better chance of others helping you out in acquiring any fan projects you may be looking for…’

Sorry - but I won’t be sending you or anyone else who only turns up here… to simply ask for links to projects and give nothing back in return… not even any effort made to contribute or participate on these forums. IMHO, that is not what this community is about.

Others on here may feel differently - you may have more luck getting the links from them. I wish you well with that. 👍

Star Wars Original Trilogy Polish 1995 VHS Voiceover Knapik Raw Unsynced Capture HQ - by Wahajec (at MySpleen)

Description: 'In my opinion these are the best Polish OT voiceovers (by Tomasz Knapik, RIP). It’s a previously unavailable capture, made by me around 10 years ago, the quality is much better than the Polish tracks included in 4K77, Harmy’s Despecialized and possibly other SW projects. I intended to sync this to GOUT to properly release it, but I never got around to do it, so I’d rather just put it out as is, it’s already way overdue. Maybe somebody likes these enough to work on the sync.

Capture was done using stereo RCA out from some LG 6-head VCR and Asus Xonar DG audio card. 48KHz 16 bits PCM, encoded losslessly into final FLAC files.

The files are complete audio captures of the tapes and include various stuff at the beginning of each tape, like interviews with George Lucas and X-Files promos.’

Size & Format: 2.01 GB (2,161,884,371 bytes) : FLAC files (audio only).

Added: 2025-05-28 13:35:34 GMT

The project is available on MySpleen and 📍 250+ available Original Trilogy Preservations - some from a long time ago . . . . 📍

The annual ‘nutters throwing themselves down a hill’ party…

Runners trip, stumble and roll their way to victory in annual downhill cheese chase - AP News

'BROCKWORTH, England (AP) — A German YouTuber tripped, stumbled and tumbled his way to victory for the second year running at one of Britain’s zaniest sports contests.

Tom Kopke, of Munich, was king of Cooper’s Hill in the annual cheese rolling competition as runners plunged down a 200-yard (180 meter) perilously steep pitch in pursuit of a speeding wheel of Double Gloucester cheese. Kopke was the first to reach the bottom of the hill behind the cheese.

“All the people at the top said they were going to steal my title but this is mine,” a shirtless Kopke declared as he clutched his prize — the 7-pound (3-kilogram) circle of cheese. “I risked my life for this. It’s my cheese. Back to back.”

The contest, traditionally held on the late-May public holiday near Gloucester, about 90 miles (145 kilometers) west of London, dates back at least two centuries, maybe longer. It’s attended by thousands, who pack the woods flanking the hill or take cover behind fences at the bottom, as competitors from around the world risk serious injury in the hope of glory.

Gravity and acceleration combine to leave few runners on their feet, leading to epic wipeouts that can result in twisted ankles, broken collarbones and concussions.

Ava Sender Logan, from London, won the women’s race after somersaulting and rolling at least a dozen times as she clutched her head.

“I will probably feel it tomorrow,” she said. “It felt quite long coming down and then I hit my head. I’m down, that’s what matters. I’m fine.”’

Yeah, it was Frank Oz who came up with the idea of Yoda speaking in the manner he does throughout the film - based off that line from in the script. Frank then suggested to George that he do the whole role of Yoda like that - and George agreed.

George is, once again, being disingenuous (or an ‘unreliable narrator’ again… you’re shocked, right?! 😉).

There’s a good 2018 interview with Frank Oz on the subject, here:-

Frank Oz on the Challenges of Bringing Yoda to Life (Part 1) - circa 6 minutes and 45 seconds in (though the whole thing is well worth a watch, giving insights on the importance of the characterisation by the performer as well as the voice - and Part 2 of the video), as well.

Edit (found it): At 30m 35s into this 2013 interview with Frank Oz: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BN-l4r2eIA (the whole interview is very much worth a watch discussing many aspects of Fran Oz’ life and work):-

Frank Oz: "He [George] wants me to bring alive the character that he and Larry Kasdan wrote - that’s what he wants. He wants something that transcends what’s on the paper. He doesn’t want a voice. He doesn’t know what he wants at that point because it has never been done, first of all.

Interviewer: Who invents the Yoda language? Who invented the language?

Fran Oz: Larry and George wrote the language, but they didn’t see it through all the way, and I asked George if I could really hone in on the language and he said ‘yeah’… so I made it very specific… and carried their idea throughout. But this voice thing is very… it’s a red herring, not for you, for everybody, because by the way, George Lucas didn’t want my voice in the beginning. I gave him a tape. He said ‘no, thank you’. (interview continues on)

^ That’s not to take anything away from the likes of Kasdan, George, Kershner, Peter Suschitzky, Stuart Freeborn and his team, Jim Henson’s input, the Yoda puppeteering team, stage crew, and also Mark Hamill (whose performance helps sell Yoda, greatly).

And I think it is mentioned in Alan Arnold’s superb 1980 book 'Once upon a Galaxy: A Journal of the Making of the Empire Strikes Back’ - though I’m not 100% on that, I’ll look it up later (I don’t have it to hand). It was in JW Rinzler’s ‘The Making Of Empire Strikes Back’ book (which references Alan Arnold’s book & tapes numerous times), on Page 244:-

I think where some people may get confused is they saw George’s quote from the same above book by JW Rinzler (on Page 44)

… where George says he “started Yoda’s backwards style” and then take it as verbatim; when if fact there is much more to Yoda speaking in the manner he does throughout the film… as Frank Oz himself has consistently stated in numerous sources over the years (with a few examples given above and below).
