Star Wars (1977) Filming Locations - Then and Now

www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVxJEJsm02g - a 13 minute video form the gluecement youtube channel.

The blurb: ‘Pretty much every filming location from the original (“Despecialized”) version of Star Wars. Big shout-out to https://www.starwarslocations.com for finding and documenting many hard-to-get-to places.’

I love the shot matching ‘then-and-now’ comparisons - a cool video that brings a smile to the face. Kudos to the amount of work that went into making this.

Finally got around to watching Season 7 of Black Mirror - and am glad I did… I wasn’t expecting much given the underwhelming few previous seasons… though this was a welcome return to form of the early material; pulling no punches, thought-provoking and chilling - with pockets of welcome dark humour throughout.

I guess it also depends on what size of ‘box set’ you want? How it looks on your shelf or display along with other media etc?

I’m not up to date on the case covers - though there used to a good range of cases what could hold 6 discs - yet not so much option when it came to 9-disc cases.

^ If possible get a case with a [USB flash drive ‘tab’ in it](A Star Wars USB Drive - Box, Case, Tape, Tin, Frame, Figure & Cover Thread…](https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/A-Star-Wars-USB-Drive-_Box-Case-Tape-Tin-Frame-Figure-and-Cover_-Thread/id/53879) - I found them to be most useful over the years when storing content together (especially if any of the discs fail over time).

Please post up your finished ‘box set’ when complete - would be cool to see.

Good luck with it, mate. 👍

The blurb: 'You watched Andor. You thought you got it. But couldn’t shake the feeling you missed things, we all did. I checked out all the other analysis out there and I was disappointed.

This human-written channel is dedicated to peeling back every layer of Andor. Scene by scene, moment by moment, to uncover what Tony Gilroy and his team really built. This isn’t a recap channel. It’s not about easter eggs. It’s about subtext, structure, power, politics, silence, rhythm, rebellion, and why every line matters.

The Upstairs Lounge is a place most people don’t even know exists, and to most of them, it’s closed.

But you’re in. Welcome.’

Leia vs. Vader
Time

Shopping Maul said:

Yes, another very interesting aspect of the ever-evolving SW narrative back in the day - thanks for a fascinating read.
For me the biggest disappointment was making Leia the ‘sister/other hope’ - apart from making no sense generally, I felt it robbed her of her agency somewhat.
I do recall she got a shot at Vader in Splinter of the Mind’s Eye but I don’t remember if it was handled well.

I’m surprised SOTME hasn’t yet been been made into an animated form (a la Heir To The Empire) - or even being made into a ‘fan film’ - given the main focus on the three characters on a single setting.

One day, maybe…

I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to show the OT to somebody who has never seen it before and is maybe on the younger side. I couldn’t handle them saying that the films are boring and the special effects outdated lol.

Best show them the original theatrical cut - and none of the various Special Editions, then. 😉

Plinkett's Prequel reviews

Somehow, Mr Plinkett returned…

(with pizza rolls!)

Mr. Plinkett’s What Happened To Star Wars?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xeMak4RqJA - a 53 minute video from the Red Letter Media youtube channel.

The blurb: ‘Mr. Plinkett is back! And this time he’s here to quickly guide you through the last 15 years or so of Star Wars history from the Prequels, to everything that’s happened after the Disney acquisition. How can one universe contain Andor, The Acolyte, Baby Jedis, and Legos? I don’t know? Do you compartmentalize your Star Wars in your brain like a psychopath? Do you just watch Star Wars content that fits your particular taste in a Star War? How can we take the dark side seriously anymore? Is it all too much too quickly? If you keep shoving sh*t into a wet paper bag eventually it’ll burst. I guess only the world’s rich elite 1% will find out… Join Harry on one final adventure into Star Wars.’

Why not simply send Master Lawdog a PM - as he clearly states in the opening post if his quality project thread?:-

In general, simply sending a PM is the default way of asking for fan projects on here (unless indicated / instructed otherwise in the project thread)

❕ I have found a Fan Edit / Preservation I am interested in - but I don’t know how to get / acquire / download it? ❕

Please note that cluttering up the project threads with ‘link request’ posts is not only poor form - but is also against the rules & guidelines here - the reasons for which can be found below…

ATTENTION NEW MEMBERS: “Link begging” posts will be deleted without notice - in Announcements

^ Not being able to send a PM because your account is new… is NOT a reason to make ‘link request’ posts on here.

Along with…

Welcome to the OriginalTrilogy.com | Introduce yourself in here | Useful info within | About | Help | Announcements

❕ ‘How Do I Do This?’ on the OriginalTrilogy.com; some info & answers + member FAQs ❕ | Site Rules | Fan Project Rules

Hopefully the project threads will soon get back to being discussions about the actual projects themselves - queries, feedback, reviews, exchange of ideas, suggestions for future versions etc - and not be full of endless & unnecessary ‘link request’ posts (which has led to a number of both fan project creators & contributing members leaving the community here in recent times).

Good luck with it. 👍
