How can I help out around here…?

Some members, including those new here on the site, like to help out around the forum - in a welcome bid to contribute to the community here - yet are a little unsure on what to do…

Most of the information below is pretty straightforward stuff - though as this was something often asked in PMs to the site moderators - it is well worthy of inclusion in here, too. So the following is a basic overview of what I replied with when asked…

Simply helping others find what they are looking for…

Often you’ll see posts asking simple and straightforward questions - that can easily be answered by those who are familiar with the site - or know where the bodies are buried where the information / answers / assistance required in posts / threads are.

Even just pointing new members to the right direction / thread… (even if only to the ‘How do I do this on the OT.com?’ or to the relevant posts in the ‘How-To’s and Technical Discussions’ forum) can be of help to others.

Or answering any questions posted up in the ‘General Assistance’, the ‘Feedback Forum’ or in the ’ General Star Wars Questions’ thread.

^ (If answering a general Star Wars question please provide a reputable source, citation, screenshot, or quote as part of the answer)

Or simply saying ‘Hi’ and welcoming new members, and pointing any with queries in the right direction in the ‘Welcome to the OriginalTrilogy.com | Introduce yourself in here | Useful info within’ thread.

Posting up… news, articles, videos etc…

If you see an intriguing article online (or in print!) and think it may be of interest for discussion on here - then post it!

The same for news and insightful or informative videos or blogs - especially for the Original Trilogy - yet also the GFFA beyond… whether that be a newly reported series or film, video game, books & comics, or Disney+ news etc. Or articles and content on film preservation, film editing, and similar fan-made projects and endeavours… or even this communities’ own history. 👍

If you can, please include a screenshot / thumbnail, and official source link. Or provide a link from a quality / trusted source such as Hollywood Reporter, EW, Variety, Deadline, Wired, other trade magazines, or SWU / SWNN and other respected SW news sites. If posting up a video then please include the full title and channel, video length, and a brief description - thank you.

Yet, please… do NOT post up content from ‘The Fandom Menace’ / other toxic platforms… or clickbait / bullshit channels.

Also feel free to post up some humour & fun; memes, rare images or some Star Wars jokes or light hearted observations…

Project reviews and feedback…

Reviews are very much appreciated and valued by the project creators - helping them improve for any future versions - or for any other prospective projects.

Nobody is expecting a ‘War and Peace’ length review - or anyone to go to Dostoevsky levels of writing…

Just a few words, or a couple of lines or even paragraphs… of what you enjoyed, what you didn’t, any constructive ideas or suggestions for a future version or release; whether simple tweaks - or something on a more substantial level.

As well as mentioning any glitches or technical issues you may have come across while watching the project.

This post below may be of some assistance / interest / relevance…

Please leave some feedback for the fan projects on here - or even a review… (and join in with the discussions on this forum!)

Those with some technical expertise or know-how…

If you are proficient / experienced in technical matters and you have some spare time - then please feel free to help answer any queries asked or give relevant advice in the ‘How-To’s and Technical Discussions’ forum - or queries and advice in the four main ‘Fan Project’ forums.

This also applies for creatives in the ‘Case Covers, Disc Labels, and Fan Art’ and the ‘Script Writing and Re-writing’ forums - where members often ask for feedback or advice.

If you see someone struggling with a project… and don’t have much technical advice or expertise to offer… then even some simple encouragement, or advice to take a break - go for a walk, look around other projects to see how ‘X’ was achieved, or ask other respected or valued members here for their input, or maybe approach the issue from a different perspective - may just be the help, advice, or input they require.

If embarking on a lengthy or detailed post / info post / info thread…

Is there a topic you’d like to talk about - yet not already covered on here in a dedicated thread? Then find the relevant forum and start one… 👍 Or ask the mods / long-standing members around here if there are any standout topics not already covered / or subject threads that could benefit from more information or detail etc (or simply an update and ‘bump’)

Even when discussing the OT since 2003, there is a lengthy list of scenes and events in the 3 films that we strangely don’t have dedicated topics on; fairly big events or curiosities in the OT story - the original Mos Eisley Cantina scene, the Battle of Hoth, Slave I, Manny Bothans and the Rebels’ plan in ROTJ, etc - in the ‘Star Wars Scenes, Dialogue, Tropes, and Meta’ category of ‘An Index & Help Thread for Original Trilogy Discussion’.

If creating a lengthy post / ‘info post’ it may be an idea to use a small image / few small images to help break up ‘the wall of text’; to simply break down the content into more ‘bite-size’ chunks of info. It may also make it easier to find or navigate to certain sections of the info post / thread - or simply just for catching the eye or passing interest.

Perhaps think about including screenshots of quotes or brief snippets from online articles (+ newspaper cuttings and magazine scans etc), links, citations, or sources etc to also help break up any lengthy ‘walls of text’ - even links other relevant threads on here - or to use as re-enforce / give credence to any points you are attempting to make? Some members like to use ‘line breaks’ to break up any differing categories or sections to break up lengthy amounts of text - or a ‘banner’ to highlight where a new category starts - or so it can be found more easily.

It is likely worth having a look around at similar / relevant detailed posts or threads from fellow members whose posts or threads have caught the eye / that you may respect or enjoy. If getting into difficulty when creating a new thread / project… simply ask around - you’ll likely receive an answer or help soon enough.

An example of a lengthy and detailed ‘info post’ that is broken up into differing categories with line breaks, spacing, and images

📍 a few useful links for info and projects; some old, some new, some long forgotten… 📍 in General Assistance

This post below may also be of some assistance / interest / relevance for anyone creating a lengthy post or thread…

How to post an image or video on the OriginalTrilogy•com… (plus some useful markdown guides and advice on post layouts)

Dealing with trolls / WUMs / bad-faith actors…

Stay civil - don’t stoop to their level… they’ll often try to drag you down to their level and beat you with their considerable experience or well-rehearsed agenda!

When a troll, WUM, entitled or aggressive new member on here plays their face and starts acting like a moron… let a moderator know and they’ll handle it.

If it is a simple troll or WUM (ie, “you guys suck”, “this site is the pits”, “the OT sucks”, “PT/SE/Lucas/TFM forever” and so on etc…) then feel free to give a little push back - point out what the site is about and its long history; that they’re just the latest in a long line of sad trolls and WUMs to visit his place to try to stir things up and get some attention / create some negative waves on here… and that they won’t be the last.

This is also applicable if you receive any trolling / WUM / toxic / unwanted / sledging PMs - although also alert a moderator. 👍

Spam or troublesome posts

Occasionally the moderation staff may miss or overlook some of the considerable amount of spam that appears on here.

To help us, the site, and also the community as a whole… we ask you to please let us know if you do see any spam about the site… in this thread…

A thread for reporting any spam seen on the site’ in the ‘Feedback Forum’ should be of assistance.

As per the OT.com Forum Rules and Guidelines:-

Do NOT reply to, or engage with the spammer or spambot - and do NOT click on any link they post.

You can also click on the ‘Report’ button located in the bottom right of the spam post / troubling post. Thank you.

The same also applies for any ‘markdown’ posts you see on here - or any accidental double / triple / quadruple repeated posts.

Fed up with seeing the unnecessary ‘link requests’ posts throughout the Fan Project sections…?

Many OT members are annoyed with the endless and unnecessary ‘link request’ posts prevalent throughout the four main ‘Fan Project’ sections on here in recent times. Often made by newer users who haven’t taken the time to look around to see how to ask for a project - or by those who simply seemingly do not want to know - or care. Not even leaving a simple thank you, feedback, or review… nor even joining in any of the discussions on here, let alone helping others about the forum, or becoming a valued member or asset of this community. Just more and more ‘link request’ posts - and little-to-nothing else.

For anyone who wants to help change and remedy that; to try and educate or demonstrate to others on how to correctly ask for projects on here (and to also show how to become an active/contributing member on here)… then ‘copy & pasting’ the following threads in reply to any ‘link request’ posts you see on here - will be a significant help in reducing this annoying and disruptive practice - and also assist in seeing a return of more actual discussions about the fan projects themselves…

❕ I have found a Fan Edit / Preservation I am interested in - but I don’t know how to get / acquire / download it? ❕

❗ The correct way of how to ask for a fan project on the OriginalTrilogy•com ❗ (Read this before making ‘link request’ posts!)

In general…

If you see a good / intriguing / star of a post or thread… comment on it. Unfortunately the site software doesn’t have the capability for a simple ‘like’ or ‘thumbs up’ - so even posting something like a basic ‘I agree’ / ‘I love this post’ / ‘I’m in full agreement’ - along with some overviews, comments or reasons why etc… goes a long way to contributing to posts you may like, agree with, find engaging, or wish to discuss further.

If you find an intriguing article online (or in print!) and think it may be of interest for discussion on here - then post it up - whether news on the Original Trilogy, articles highlighting the call for an official release of the OOT, or for Star Wars in general, a rumoured or new show in the GFFA, or about other TV/Media in general.

Or even just some humour & fun; a meme, rare image or insightful video for the OT / GFFA, some Star Wars jokes or light hearted observations…

Plus maybe a few fun posts on certain Star Wars anniversaries - 25th May, 17th November (Life Day), or 10th March

Hopefully more and more new members will become valued members of the community on here - or simply interesting and engaging posters - and that the community here at the OT•com will benefit from all your input and contributions.

Enjoy it here - there is plenty of negativity, faux-drama, and toxicity in fandom elsewhere - after all this site and community stems from a love / appreciation for the Original Trilogy - and a wish to engage and talk about that with other like-minded fans.

A brief overview of the OriginalTrilogy•com down the years…

Hopefully the OriginalTrilogy•com Timeline Thread will help chronicle just some of the rich history from this immense and unique site - from humble beginnings as home and beacon for the petition (for a release of the theatrical cuts to be released on DVD) - with also becoming an effective resource for the fan pressure campaign shortly after - to then becoming a community hub for many like-minded Star Wars fans in general. It’s further evolution over time to be a home for some superb and varied fan preservations, fan edits and projects - plus documentaries, technical, audio, and archival endeavours etc. As well as discussing some of the more prevalent news and events from in and around Star Wars since 2003 (or maybe 2002…), and also some of the other intriguing ventures from Star Wars fandom since.

Those of us who have been on here from the start, with the successful fan-led petition campaign on here resulting in Lucas finally relenting on previous promises that the theatrical cuts of the OT would not be seen again on home media again, actually seeing such a release (albeit a lazy, obsolete and intentionally sub-standard quality release being the 2006 ‘GOUT’ DVDs - as ‘bonus discs’ as part of a repackaging of the 2004 Special Editions on DVD). By this time members of the OT had long undertaken their own projects to preserve the theatrical cuts of the Original Trilogy in the best possible quality, along with other similar projects in assembling a more complete and thorough Special Edition than Lucasfilm had rushed out with many baffling image and quality control issues.

Some members, especially those around at the time of the release of the Original Trilogy, also catalogue Lucas remarks and statements… from both around the time of the early Special Editions - and also in the years before… ranging from his re-writing of Star Wars history, his previous decrees that movies should not be digitally altered, that films belong to the public once released etc… to many of his disingenuous and debunked edicts as why there couldn’t be an actual quality release for the theatrical cuts of the OT. Even today, members still highlight and discuss Lucas’ divisive and gaslighting statements, and the nonsensical claims he continues to make (see the ‘Archival / Historical Discussions’ section of An Index for Original Trilogy Discussion for more).

Members contributions also resulted in projects such as ‘The People vs George Lucas’ documentary, the ‘The Secret History Of Star Wars’ book, and the ‘Saving Star Wars’ website, and the ‘Star Wars Visual Comparisons’ platforms (StarWarsVisComp)… amongst many other fine projects looking to give an authentic and accurate portrayal of Star Wars history and events. Such projects helping to highlight and redress many of the numerous retconned claims and mythologising by George… that even many of the more ardent Lucas-fans have now come to acknowledge and accept… such as Lucas certainly not having ‘it all planned out from the start’™ or that ‘Star Wars was always the tragedy of Darth Vader’™ etc.

The forum also served as a haven for those fans who were censored and banned from the official forums and other similar sites (notably TFn) in the early-mid 2000s - for simply wanting to discuss the theatrical cuts of the Original Trilogy, the issues with the Special Editions, and highlighting Lucas’ revisionism and re-writing of history. Unfortunately the site also became a target for some Lucas zealots and bad-faith actors - issuing threats to fans undertaking such preservation projects and edits, or even for simply debunking Lucas’ claims and statements over the years. Even today, threats to life are still issued by some Lucas zealots, along with dismissing efforts made by members on here over time. (See the ‘Other websites / communities supposed issues with the OT•com or the unaltered theatrical cuts’ section of An Index for Original Trilogy Discussion for more).

However, today… thanks to fan-made preservations on here and like-minded sister-sites… everyone now have an option and choice to view and experience the theatrical cuts of the Original Trilogy on 4K/UHD and HD - whether that be the 4K77 / 4K80 / 4K83 projects, Harmy’s Despecialized Editions, oohteedee 4K’s projects, TR2N’s 4K AI efforts, and a growing number of other quality fan preservations. Not to forget the countless other fan preservations made across the long journey on here - from laserdisc & VHS rips to DVD transfers, fan edits, and numerous other fan projects (a huge shout-out for the OT Filmumentaries).

Still the OriginalTrilogy•com remains and thrives - whilst persevering to hold George’s many baffling, gaslighting and divisive claims, oft-debunked statements, and ongoing retcons and rewrites of history to scrutiny and account…

…and continues to ask for that option - that choice - to have a high quality official release of the theatrical cuts of the Original Trilogy made available on a modern digital format… completed with the love, care and attention it so deserves.

Please leave some feedback for the fan projects on here - or even a review…

and join in with the discussions on this forum! Take those first steps into a larger world…

A great deal of time, love, dedication, and effort… goes into the making of near-on all the projects that appear on here.

So if and when you do watch an Edit or Project, please remember to leave some feedback for the Editor / Preservationist - whether on a technical level, or for ideas for additional changes / edits or alternatives, some constructive criticism, any glitches or technical issues you may have noticed, how much you enjoyed it, or even just a simple ‘thank you’…

For reference / example… there is a quality FanEdit Reviews - Post Your Reviews Here thread by Vultural, to peruse for ideas and inspiration etc.

Hopefully we’ll also see someone create a similar thread for ‘Fan Preservation Reviews’.

(Vultural’s A few reviews . . (film or TV) thread, in the Media forum, is also very much worth a look through.

For anyone technically minded or has completed a few projects themselves - and has a little spare time time, or wishes to help other creatives on here out - any assistance given in the oft-overlooked How-To’s and Technical Discussions is most welcome.

NOTE: Many editors & preservationists choose not to make their projects available to ‘hit & runners’ or people with a post history of mainly just asking for links to projects - which is completely up to them. That some people join up here looking to simply take - instead of give something back; not even leaving a simple ‘thank you’, feedback or review, or join in with the community here… and instead ask for more and more projects… is not encouraged. Such requests may likely be ignored.

When I was a moderator I was amazed at the amount of PMs I would receive asking for - or even demanding - to be given links to fan projects located on here. These were in the main from ‘hit and runners’ - from people with 10-30 posts to their name full of link requests… and nothing else.

No ‘thank you’, no feedback, no reviews…

Not even joining in various fan project discussions, or the discourse on ‘Star Wars’ boards, or hanging out and chatting with other members here in the ‘Off Topic’ section. They also seemed to be offended at the suggestion they would likely have a better chance of receiving such links for projects… if they were active members of the community on here.

Don’t be like them. Leeches. Without even a token or cursory attempt at joining in with, or being a part of, the community here.

Leave some feedback, a review, or even a genuine ‘thank you’.

And join in with the discussions on here… maybe even lend a hand / or give some advice or encouragement to others… 👍

Become a valued and active member of this community - it really isn’t difficult to do at all - just a little civility and effort.

No need to be funny, I’m well aware how forums work.
They were on the day that I first mentioned it and didn’t reply, so thought maybe it wasn’t available. Thought I’d ask others if they’ve seen it.

I wasn’t being funny - I was trying to be helpful… given it seemed you didn’t know how to send a PM / were unsure about it in your earlier post…

…Which is the type of thing covered in the thread I linked to - featuring some hopefully useful information on how to obtain a project, how to send a PM, and also some other similar content which may prove of some assistance too.

❕ An <strong>Index Of Projects</strong> + <strong>'Info &amp; Help Thread'</strong> for... <strong><em>Star Wars Fan Edits &amp; Other Projects</em></strong> ❕
Time

^ It’d be great to have a repository of such content - though would take an almighty effort to put together - and also maintain.

I don’t think there is such a thread that covers all of what you mention above - though am a little ‘post-blind’ after the recent re-organisation of the ‘Fan Project’ sections of the site. spoRv and none have done some great work down the years on database, archival and info threads - some could well be of use for something like this?

It may be worth asking creating a new thread to gauge interest - and commitment - from other members for such a project?

The 2020 re-organisation of the 'Fan Project' sections of the site - and more...
Time

The four main 'Fan Project’ sections have recently undergone a re-organisation of sorts - along with their respective ‘Index & Help Threads’…

Near on every thread in the four main ‘Fan Project’ sections is now marked up to indicate their purpose and also their status; ie, whether they are ‘info’ threads, ‘info or help wanted’ threads, ‘help: looking for…’, or project threads - whether at the ‘idea’ stage, a ‘WIP’ (a Work In Progress), ‘help wanted’, ‘released’, ‘unfinished’, or ‘on hiatus’ etc.

The pinned ‘Index & Help Threads’ in each of the four ‘Fan Project’ sections… can be used to more easily ascertain which projects are ‘released’, ‘a WIP’, ‘cancelled’, or ‘on hiatus’ etc. As well as featuring some useful or insightful information, discussion, ideas, and any unfinished project threads also listed:-

Star Wars Preservation : An Index & Help Thread for Star Wars Preservations…
Star Wars Fan Edits and Other Projects : An Index & Help Thread for Star Wars Fan Edits and Other Projects…
Preservation of Other Properties : An Index & Help Thread for Preservation of Other Properties…
Fan Edits & Projects for Other Properties : An Index & Help Thread for Fan Edits & Projects for Other Properties…

This re-organisation started in April 2020 - and was finished earlier this week; just shy of some 6,600-6,800 threads in total.

A polite request: That fan editors & preservationists keep their project threads (and thread titles) updated as to their status - whether their project is in the… ‘Planning’ or ‘Idea’ stages, if any ‘Help Needed’ is required, is a ‘Work In Progress (WIP)’, or hopefully ‘Finished’ & ‘Released’ - or even unfortunately ‘Unfinished’, ‘Cancelled’ or ‘On Hiatus’ etc.

The site staff also ask that fan editors & preservationists include information in the opening post of their project thread as to how they would like members to ask about obtaining their projects; whether that is by sending them a PM, or asking for link requests in the project thread itself, or by other means. Thank you.

If creating a new thread that is NOT a fan project… please give fellow members a clear idea of what the thread is about. For example, add ‘Query’, or ‘Info’, ‘Discussion’, ‘Help: looking for…’, ‘Help Wanted’, ‘Info Wanted’, ‘Has anyone done a project on X?’, or ‘Idea: for Project X’ etc to the thread title. It annoys members to see lazily titled threads that appear to be projects on here - to open them - and only to find it is some lazy git just looking for a project, or wanting a link, or more info, or wanting someone else to make a project for them etc. Please do not make new threads for which there are project threads already in existence.

If you’d like your project added to the ‘Project Index’ threads please post a link to it in the relevant ‘Project Index’ thread - along with which category it belongs in - and also its current status.

We do ask, as a reminder, that members not post requests for links in threads (unless asked to by the editor / preservationist) - in a bid to try and keep discussions & feedback flowing (rather than have a flurry of ‘Request’ or ‘PM sent’ messages disputing the conversations in these threads). Yet people don’t often take the time to look around to see how this place works (and doesn’t) - or read through the Rules, Help threads, or Indexes before posting. Some ‘hit & runners’ do not care / take any notice anyway.

As has been said before… the moderation staff could post the above link and info in every single project thread on here - and people would still post requests in these threads. Much like the numerous ‘request threads’ for the Despecialized Edits - 40-50 separate request threads merged into a single thread here some time ago (and many more in the site’s Trash Compactor).

There are some impatient or angry people who join the site - such as this pleasant guy here (his later “f*** off and die” etc follow-up post has been removed) - despite him actually being given links to info & links for acquiring the project he was seeking.

I have found a Fan Edit / Preservation I am interested in - but don’t know how to get / acquire / download it?

Also updated is the ‘Toys & Memorabilia’ section - and an ‘Index Thread’ created for it too:-

Toys & Memorabilia : Collections, Toys and Memorabilia - an Index of Discussion Threads…

^ Threads are now titled as ‘For Sale’, ‘Wanted’, ‘Quote’, ‘Info’, ‘Free’, ‘For Trade’ etc. Or as ‘Discussion’, ‘Info’, ‘Help’, ‘Auction’, & ‘Query’.

Many of the infamous 'Markdown’ posts which once frequented the forums have been removed some time ago. A few may have been overlooked or slipped through our fingers… though anyone is welcome to let the mods know of any such markdown posts remaining (outside of threads talking about Markdown, that is 😉 ) - and we’ll delete or edit them, accordingly.

The same applies for any accidental ‘Double’ or ‘Triple’ posts made on here - and obviously for any spam seen on the site too.

Older ‘DVD cover’ type threads - made before the OT•com had it’s own DVD Art / Case Covers, Disc Labels, and Fan Art section - have now been put in the correct category. This also applies to a few ‘Script Writing & Re-Writing’ projects, and also some older or misplaced Fan Project threads which nave now been moved to their correct / more relevant site sections.

Many of the more older-yet-popular / relevant / salient threads on the OT•com which contain broken / non-working url links to articles or other sites for information have had these links updated or fixed - or a link to an ‘archive site’ or ‘backup site’ has been provided (ie, Internet Archive / WayBack Machine - or archive•is etc).

Hopefully the re-organisation / sort through will prove beneficial to everyone interested in the Fan Projects featured on this site - as well as information, queries, and discussions on and about them.

There’ll likely be a few errors, mis-labelled threads, or possibly some overlooked projects even after this re-organisation (some threads were somewhat unclear if a project was actually finished / released, & I’ve very likely made a few errors too whilst going through circa 6800 individual threads). So please do let us know if you see any mistakes or faux pas - and I both deeply and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused for any mistakes I may have made.

As always… we are a community which both requires and benefits from the help and input of each other to maintain and improve this great place. To assist and enhance this Rebel Site and also the glorious band of Rebel Scum who frequent it… 👍

MTFBWY & thank you.

Complete Comparison of Special Edition Visual Changes
Time

doubleofive was recently on the Film Formally podcast talking about just how bad a film Superman III was something called Star Wars…

Episode 17 - Finding Star Wars feat. Drew Stewart’:-

http://sadhillmedia.com/filmformally/2020/5/3/episode-17-finding-star-wars

The blurb:-

'Ever seen the original Star Wars trilogy? Which versions? Multiple new “official” editions of the films have emerged since 1997, with the original films as seen in the 70s and 80s left without any official release. The work of tracking all these changes and preserving the originals has largely fallen to fans, one of whom, Drew Stewart, runs Star Wars Visual Comparisons, a compendium of every visual alteration to the original trilogy. Drew dropped by to talk about how and why all this happened to Star Wars, and how communities rise up when studios fail to protect the legacy of their films.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • The history of Star Wars Special Editions, and their changes both big and small.

  • Theories on possible ulterior motives for each new edition’s changes.

  • How fan communities develop and take extraordinary measures to preserve films.

  • The ethics of preservation — who is responsible to preserve which versions of these films?

  • Lots of nerdy stuff. It’s a Star Wars-focused episode of a granular podcast about film technique and theory, you know exactly what you’re getting into.

  • Maclunkey!’

Some great insight, info and discussion on there - and well worth a listen 👍

Need Advice on Mechanical Keyboard for Typing
Time

A friend has the Corsair K70 Rapidfire keyboard - which felt pretty decent for typing on as ‘a lend’ for a couple of days.

I’m not too sure how it would have fared for hours a day, five or six days week… though I’m happy enough with my boring and plain Logitech MK270 £20 keyboard & mouse 😉 (rock n’ roll)

A good customer of mine has a Razor ‘BlackWidow’ keyboard he swears by - though to me it it looked and felt quite cheap (even with the surrounding & matching LED lights in his ‘rig’).

If you are working from home and have someone else in earshot much of the time… be a saint and go for a quiet keyboard - especially if you hard hitter / banger on the keys…

There’ll be far less chance of experiencing the ergonomics of the keyboard close up and around the back of the head 😉

Not sure what FHD is?

FHD Full HD (1080p)
UHD Ultra HD (4K)

I was asking about the the 2020 FHD blu-rays that came out with the 4k ones. But I guess since those come from the same “new” sources as the 4K versions, the colors, the tighter framing etc. are identical to those of the 4k ones. Minus the higher resolution and HDR ofc.

Keep in mind those are only available in the box with the 4K, the individual releases are still the 2011 version.

In the UK, the 3-disc steelbook releases of the individual Original Trilogy films (exclusive to Zavvi; 1 4K disc, 1 blu ray disc, 1 bonus material disc) does apparently feature the 2019 SE version on the blu ray.

ROTJ - https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Star-Wars-Episode-VI-Return-of-the-Jedi-4K-Blu-ray/270368 : 10th August

^ Needless to say they sold out in ‘pre-order’ very quickly (hopefully they’ll do another re-issue soon due to the huge demand).

There are a few ‘unboxing’ and ‘review’ type videos out there on youtube about these UK steelbook releases too.

Just for info and anyone interested…

Some of the other main European countries may have had similar deals and releases?

Edit: Nathan P Butler confirms that the 3-Disc Australian releases of the individual films in 4K does indeed feature the 2019SE version of the OT films on the blu ray discs:-

A bit on the oft-overlooked people at Rebel Legion (seems the 501st Legion gets more publicity than the Rebels do)

The Star Wars website’s ‘tag’ for the Rebel Legion: www.starwars.com/news/tag/rebel-legion

'The Rebel Legion is an international fan-based volunteer organization dedicated to the construction and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Republic, the New Republic, the Resistance, the Jedi Order, and other heroes from the Star Wars universe. Founded in 2000, the group was formed in response to the decision of sister organization the 501st Legion to remain dedicated to Galactic Empire costumes. The Rebel Legion makes appearances at private and public events, including charitable events and official Star Wars promotional events. The organization does not charge a fee for appearances, instead encouraging a donation to a charity.

It is divided into “bases” located throughout the world, and as of November 2019, the Rebel Legion membership is approximately 8,000 members. Though not affiliated with Lucasfilm, the organization is sanctioned by Lucasfilm.’ - Wikipedia
