That was a cream dream... also, I'm pretty sure that end scene in the trailer was the equivalent to a movie preview... just sayin'

Check out the videos.
Where were you in '77?

LOVE IT! Looks great!
And no SE ring around the Death Star explosion!
um... yeah I'm all over that. Looks awesome!

Whoa! Amazing. Hopefully I'll be able to just enter my bank account info directly into the game. Seriously, I'm gonna have to fight my kids to play this.
(Can we get a console version?)
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?
Um... I saw a ring and added lens flare... Besides the entire thing's rerendered in CGI even without a ring it wouldn't be the original so yeah...ray_afraid said:

Oh, really? You mean that wasn't footage from a restoration of the original film? You're saying it was actually footage from a new arcade game? I'm shocked!
On second viewing, I did see the ring go by real fast. Still, it's not based around the look of the awful SE explosion like all the OT games that have come since it's release. I always thought the original explosion was lame and adding that stupid looking ring made it worse.
Anyway, I welcome a new look instead of recycling the SE version over again.
The game looks great! Anybody know when we can expect to see this thing around?
Looks like fun, but it sadly looks like an on-rails shooter rather than an X-Wing or Rogue Squadron style flying game.

Just watched again and those are my thoughts as well.
Really pulled all the excitement out of it for me.
Yeah, that's how arcade games generally work.
So was Atari Star Wars, if you remember. ;)

I'm sold! When do they start shipping?
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.
This looks incredible. I'm reminded of the Trilogy arcade cabinet so much, but this is just like that only modern. Very excited! It's nice to see the arcade isn't quite dead yet.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.

My thoughts exactly.
I wonder how that screen works. Is it rear projection or something?
That looks awesome.. I'd really like to play that! My only nitpick is the HUD style - wish it wasn't circular in that way, and also it'd be more interesting if each craft had its own unique design.
I loved the Star Wars Trilogy Arcade game that came out in the late 90's and this looks like an updated version.
From what I can tell the game is on rails but you can control the movement to some degree. Looks like holding down fire when an enemy is within the large blue circle means you will automatically hit it(?). There's also a lock on for torpedoes where you can target a number of enemies at once and get a bonus.
So you control movement along a pre determined path and use the throttle to take corners sharper. Personally I'd just prefer the movement of a target around screen, but still, it's great that a new Star Wars arcade game has been made.
The graphics look stunning and I'm all for a game that puts you in the OT. I doubt it will get ported, but I'd snap it up even though it onlys lasts 20-30 minutes.
On a side note, here's an article about the canceled Star Wars Trilogy Wii game. It was to have been all the Rogue Squadron games with redone controls and fixes (the on foot sections of Rebel Strike?) The game was finished but canned at the last minute. Maybe one day it will get leaked.

But... but that's injustice!
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.
Seems ‘Star Wars: Battlepod’ has made its way onto the PC (via emulation; two years back - like ‘Star Wars Trilogy: Arcade’ did)…
‘Star Wars Battle Pod (2014) Arcade PC’:-

‘Star Wars Battle Pod - 1CC - (All Missions Completed)’:-

It seems there also unofficial mods for this and also the ‘Star Wars Trilogy: Arcade’ for the ‘Arcade1Up Star Wars Arcade Cabinet’ machine out there on youtube and the other usual gaming places too.
Edit: I’d no idea there was ever a ‘flatscreen’ arcade version of Battle Pod too (though I imagine it is still a little pricey)…

The standard single cab version is the one I played a few times-it sits at an extreme angle so the screen is tilted forward and you’re sort of looking upwards at it which gives a great immersion feel.
Unfortunately the game itself is like an extremely watered down on rails version of Trilogy Arcade mixed with Rogue Squadron that for players of either results in no real challenge.
The challenge for me is still finding non destroyed or messed up Trilogy Arcade cabinets. But I play even messed up ones because now it’s so darn elusive and getting a high score run with messed up screen, joystick, buttons or crosshairs can be a mega challenge.
