Holy fuck that trailer. I am so fucking jazzed for this movie.

I’ve been jokingly saying I’ve been looking forward to Rogue One moreso than Episode VIII, and I’m not sure that’s a joke anymore. This thing looks incredible.

The Star Destroyers look so much like physical props!

Remember Saw is from Onderon, Jeebus!

I love how they just couldn’t help but use the same rendition of the force theme from that final TFA trailer.

It’s okay, I was kinda hoping they would. 😄

Change “December” to “whenever the hell I’ll be able to watch it”, and this sums up my thoughts as well.

It still looks cheap and some cgi aren’t quite finished, but it seems better than expected. Edwards’ visual style is clearly there, I’m still sure it’s gonna be far more interesting than the highly overrated Ep7.

What part of my 2-lines post are you referring to ? The cheap looking ? Well, compared to the other movies of the saga. Better than expected ? Well, compared to the previous trailer.

Maybe I’m overthinking this, but is anyone else getting a Jerusalem vibe from this shot?
(I guess such a visual comparison makes sense if this is on Jedha, as it’s supposed to be a holy place for Force believers. Didn’t someone mention in an interview that there are many different types of Force believers that come to Jedha?)

Also, why is the Death Star up-side-down in this shot?

There is no upside down in space. It’s all three-dimensional, remember? 😛

Sure, but I still think it’s weird that they choose to show it from that orientation. Also doesn’t that technically mean that we’re seeing the planet with the north pole facing down (relatively speaking)?
It’s a neat shot anyway, it just struck me as kinda odd.

I won’t lie visually this looks more interesting than TFA. They seem to be going a little out there in terms of the locals which is always great as the unfamiliar should be a part of every new Star Wars film. The only real concern about the film I have is with the story seeing as how we know how it’s going to end. How they can make it suspenseful like STAR WARS (another movie in which the ending was obvious) is going to be interesting to see.

Another thing thing that I noticed in the trailer;

I feel like a lot of the film is going to take place on Jedha. I aslo think it’s interesting that the DS apparently goes to Jedha (hence the eclipse). There’s a shot in the trailer of Jyn and Cassian flying away from huge explosion so there might be a scene where the DS actually attacks Jedha. Of course it’s not referred to as “fully operational” until the events of ANH, so I guess this scene might show us what the unfinished DS superlaser is capable of. This also implies that the shot of the DS that was posted earlier, which I said looked up-side-down, is probably it aiming down on Jedha. The shots of Krennic with the view of Jedha I’m assuming is him ordering it to attack.

That was enjoyable, interesting and quality - wish I had a time-machine to go see the film right now - haven’t said that about a trailer for a long time.

Oh, you didn’t like TFA? Thanks for clearing that up, we weren’t sure based on your other 10,000 posts saying the same thing.
