First time I really see Han Solo in Alden Ehrenreich. Excitement increases.
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

After reading The Art of The Force Awakens and The Art of The Last Jedi, I actually started to worry that they’re giving McQuarrie too much honor as like…the only and best source of ideas.

That hardly explains why it’s the same move. It also seems to be “filmed” from a different angle than the ANH scene.
I’d assume the intended joke is that even ten years later (in ANH) Chewie still hasn’t learned how to defend against that move.
