Just do it yourself! It shouldn’t be hard if you know what you’re adding.

A lot of editing softwares need to be paid so they wouldn’t have watermarks. Even Filmora has watermarks until I have to fully pay it. I can’t do that with my family.

There are a lot of free editing programs or lite versions, that are worth looking into. For example I am using DaVinci Resolve for color grading, although I have iMovie, because DaVinci is just better, although it is free.

I use Shotcut but splicing together multiple video files often causes audio pops and such so I don’t recommend it much.

I use Final Cut Pro which I Definitely, Absolutely Legally Paid For.

I’d kill to have Palpatine stuff be added (specifically that part you added in bbghost) into Hal9000’s cut of TFA

I have thought about getting around to doing my own standalone cuts of the sequels separate from my 3-in-1 edit, and things like that would definitely be added. I’ll let you know if that comes about!

Spitballing an idea here, try removing Poe’s mention of the dreadnought being a fleet killer. Yes, I understand that he’s making up excuses so Leia could let him continue attacking the dreadnought, but I think this is part of what adds to the misinterpretations that Poe was in the right for attacking the dreadnought… and letting the bombers die, even though they could’ve fled with the Resistance fleet.

I really want to end my TLJ edit by irising out on the group shot of the Resistance inside the Falcon, but the shot isn’t long enough to fit the music. It’s only a few seconds too short - I’ve seen people here extend shots using interpolation software, but I don’t have the technical know-how to do it myself; is there anyone who could give it a crack?

I flipped the shots of the Falcon in hyperspace and the group shot and the music lines up perfectly. You just need to add sound effects for the hyperspace shot.

This is the way.

Are there any edits where Darth Vader is heard breathing in Luke’s final flashback? Has it been done?

Just change the music. Or better yet, take DZ-330’s suggestion.

Here’s my video, my editing software doesn’t have the proper credits transition but the point is there:

Oh my god, I would never have thought that would work. But it does. Perfectly. Thanks!

It still feels a bit odd to jump from an interior to an exterior right back to the interior.

In The Director and the Jedi, there are some unused closeups of the droids and Chewie from that wideshot. Perhaps one of those shots could be used to pad out the timing. The shots are at 1:28:16 in the documentary.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

If you have Adobe Premiere, you can use the the Rate Stretch Tool (and it wouldn’t be too noticeable if it’s only a few seconds you need to extend it out.)

Strongly agree.

If something can be done about his physical presence in TLJ, Snoke could be made into Palpatine’s Wizard of Oz -esque fakeout. In fact, just have him holographically flicker out when Kylo bisects him.

Is there any way around Finn trying to desert the Resistance in TLJ? I still want him to meet Rose.

Off the top of my head, I think it would be possible to make it sound like he’s exclusively trying to find and warn Rey, not actually leave permanently himself. But then his character arc over the movie wouldn’t have a clear starting point.

I actually had an idea a while ago that could be used to supplement that: Make it more about Rose’s journey. Basically, remove most of the instances of her optimistic theme music, have something more sinister play when she’s talking about how she hates Canto Bight, and remove the part where she releases the last Fathier and says “now it’s worth it.” Then when she talks about “not fighting what we hate” it would be like she’s only just figured it out. Although I’m not sure if that would quite work with the way she’s played.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

That’d be weird though. It’d be derailing the trilogy for a story about a side character who immediately becomes irrelevant in the next film. Finn is a main character in all three, so it makes sense to center that plotline around him.

Here is a 5 minute clip of Luke and Leia dying together. Mods if this is too long of a clip, let me know.

This is strictly an experiment, an idea I came up with last night. Never liked the way Luke dies in ‘Last Jedi’ and never liked the Idea of Han showing up, normally this is reserved for a force ghost. What if Luke and Leia were able to bring Han back in Kylo’s mind, in otherwords, overwhelm him with the light side of the force. They sacrifice their own lives, Leia for her son, Luke to redeem his mistakes that were made with his nephew. Editorially thinking, the moment Leia rubs the medallion, it allows us to bring in Luke for a pretty decent link.

Again, just ideas in action. I plan to do Mandalorian type episodes with the sequel trilogy and I may try and use this. But wanted to throw it out as it is an idea and execution I have not seen before. Curios if anyone else likes it.

I’m not sure quite what the cost would be to the material these shots were taken from, as it’s a fairly radical departure, but as a standalone thing, this is actually really good. Having Luke and Leia bring back the spirit of Han works, and then as you say it’s quite powerful having the OT’s big three back together for this one single purpose, the redemption of Ben Solo.

Appreciate the thoughts, EddieDean. I don’t think the cost will be too high. I’m working on the Crait battle now. Might remove Luke from this battle entirely, but really like the moment between Luke and Leia and wink to 3PO… not sure how I will proceed yet. The battle will open this particular episode similar to the battle on Hoth.

Even with the above clip, I may go back to put in the cringe force healing. Being close to death is a powerful motivator of change. Maybe almost drowning is enough… The plan was to remove both this Force healing and that of the serpent in the cave. I just don’t like the idea of Force Healing being so easy and Rey is already too powerful. Baby Yoda and Kylo at the end of 9 is already more than enough for me with the healing.

Definitely some decisions to make, not for everyone… But what edit ever is.
