So I just finished taking over 500 screenshots from the TN1 16mm scans of the Classic Creatures and From Star Wars to Jedi documentaries and I’d like to share a link to the photos. What’s the best way to do that? I normally upload photos to imgur if I want to share them here, but for so many I’d like to make an album of some sort and just post some of the highlights. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Never mind. Making an imgur album was easier than I thought. I’ll post the link and some highlights later today.

Have those been released? It drove me crazy that prints of both docs popped up on ebay last year when I was strapped for cash. I’d been searching for them for years.

Yeah, they were both included with 4K83 as bonus features.

Ah! That’s why I didn’t see a thread for them.

Some of my favourite Ackbar images. I especially love how mesmerized that kid looks in the third picture.

I think that shot of George boarding the plane is where my old off air VHS recording cut off.

Does the 16mm have bumpers for where the pledge breaks went when it aired on PBS?

Are you referring to these?; https://i.imgur.com/sXcC1OC.png

Classic Creatures aired on CBS and I don’t recall bumpers for it.

SWTJ had at least one PBS pledge break before they got to the aerial shot of the barge set. It was a black frame with the SWTJ title and added text Will return. It may have been only in prints made for PBS, but it was definitely on the film. All the VHS/LD releases don’t have it.

I still need to figure out if there are any differences in the two versions of Classic Creatures besides the closing credits. The 2011 Blu Ray set dug up an ancient video master with credits on film, but all the old video releases have video generated credits.

Thanks for posting that though!

I forgot to point this out, but the 16mm version does the same. It’s pretty abrupt and strange, especially since it happened after the end credits.

BTW, the order of the screneshots got all messed up in the imgur album so I’ll have to re-upload a lot of them. I’ll post the link to the whole album some time tomorrow.

It’s just a fun little tag that simply goes to black when George enters the plane. My old VHS cut him off before the last words. I think I ran out of tape.

That slug was an enemy on the SNES RotJ game. I remember one of my friends complaining about them adding creatures that aren’t in the films. I knew it was & got to point it out n’ feel superior for a bit.

There were a couple creatures in Star Wars SNES that I was unfamiliar with.

So, rearranging 525 pictures manually in an imgur post isn’t exactly my idea of fun. So unless there’s an easy way to share an imgur gallery that I don’t know about, I’m going to have to do it another way. Any suggestions? I’d prefer an option were the images can be arranged by name, otherwise the whole thing will be a complete mess to scroll through.

why would you upload pics from a making of that can everybody watch?
isn´t it better upload stuff that isn´t watchable, only exists as pics?
only a suggestion…

Because I figured it’d be nice to have pictures as well? Some of my screenshots might be a tad excessive or unnecessary, sure, but sometimes docs show things/details that aren’t available in image form so I figured why not take screenshots? That’s just me though, I like to have pictures of these things.

If people wish to post some images from the various ‘Making Of’ & ‘Behind The Scenes’ type documentaries up here in these three OT image threads that’d be great - and also serves as a welcome pointer and information on the documentaries themselves.

There are a new generation of Original Trilogy fans who likely don’t know about these documentaries, or how the unaltered original theatrical films were made back then - so having that information on here and highlighting them is more than welcome.

Of course, the images don’t have to be from every frame of these documentaries - but an overview of images from the many differing scenes would help make this thread a worthwhile resource (as well as being a cool and intriguing collection of BTS / Making Of images) 😃

(There is also a few of us have likely forgot about these documentaries too - or at least some of the footage from them 😉)
