Well, i don’t know which systems the reviews I’ve watched were on but there were lots and lots of bugs like characters magically popping into cutscenes halfway through, npcs getting stuck in walls and floors and things, collision detection problems (passing through walls was a common one), and some really buggy ai for bad guys at times. And every single review I’ve checked has exhibited pretty much all of these problems and every reviewer has mentioned them in the reviews. Heck, that jimpressions video has most of all of them.

None of them look to ruin the game, but I figure if I wait a bit most of them will get sorted out hopefully.

I’m more interested in how potential DLC pans out. As much as I really wanna pull the trigger on buying it, I know it will be smarter to wait and see how it polishes up.

Correct. And you need to go back to your Visas Marr avatar!

Finished it tonight. Took me about 36 hours to 100% completion. LOVED IT! Easily the best Star Wars game since Jedi Outcast. It was fun, visually engaging and had a solid story that managed to utilize and tie together a lot of different things. I really hope they can keep this team together for another game. They absolutely nailed it.

I must be the odd one out. I’m finding it a really frustrating experience so much so that I’ve cranked down the difficulty. On PS4 it is filled with stuttering and occasional glitches. I’ll admit the games it apparently references in style aren’t what I usually play but I would consider myself an experienced gamer for many years and I’ll be darned if I don’t find myself dying over and over seemingly for no reason. Then having to endlessly backtrack and redo the things I just did time and time again is infuriating.
It feels to me like a modern game given a Star Wars skin. Overall I am reminded of the rebooted Tomb Raider games with perhaps a dash of Jedi Outcast in tone. It’s also one of the SW games that makes the lightsaber more like a general baseball bat style weapon that apparently everyone can magically repel.

Am I doing something wrong?

I wonder if the stuttering/pop-in issues would be reduced with an SSD. That’s my Christmas present to myself for my PS4 - so sick of the super long load times in The Outer Worlds that I stopped playing until I have the cash to fork over for one…

Having finished the game, I can say that you start seriously underpowered, so it’s rather very difficult early on, but as soon as you’ve learned some force abilities it become nearly too easy. Complete that skill tree, find the life & force essence, and learn to parry!!!

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

I realized the main problem was that I went to the wrong planet first…whatever you do when first given a choice don’t go to Dathomir like I did. You get to a point you can’t pass and the enemies are far harder for the start of the game. So now I’ve gone back and gone to the other planet and everything is much better.
I don’t know why they give you that option. It’s like someone saying: hey, here’s level 5 you can do a third of and die a lot if you haven’t leveled up.

This sounds like an open world game - like exploring the wasteland in Fallout and stumbling into a herd of Deathclaws when you’re at level 1.

Is this an open world game? I was under the impression that it was linear, a la Uncharted, etc.?

It’s not an open world, but you can revisit previous locations. And you can unlock shortcuts to somehow speed up later revisits. And you can visit accessible planets whenever you choose, even if it’s a bad idea!

In the making of documentary they said they decided to do that as a tease for how tough the game gets later on. I guess keeping the hardcore gamer skeptic in mind. I think the thought process was that players that dared venture there would quickly realize they weren’t ready and then leave right away.

Finished Fallen Order. Such a fantastic game. It felt in a way the spiritual successor to KoTOR and The Force Unleashed.

One thing that wish tho is more replayability. More unlockables for outfits. Come on, let’s have something more in vein of a Jedi outfit.

I’m still going to go back and play the game more cause it left me with that same feeling of wonderment that had from playing KOTOR for the first time.

What I liked:
-lightsaber combat
-customizing your lightsaber
-BD-1
-sensing memories

What I disliked:
-too many and too big spiders(hated the jumpscares on Kashyyyk…grrrr…)
-no option to pacify enemies like animals or natives
-very few peaceful animals or natives
-no padawan mode: Jedi Knight was way too difficult (I know: I suck), but story mode was no challenge at all
-the story: *Who are the Zeffo?
*Where did they go?
*How does their understanding of the force distinguish from the Jedi’s or the Nightsisters’?
*too few dialog options

Things I would like to see:
-a city or village to visit: the one on Dathomir would have worked, if you would not have had to slaughter everyone
-more serious lore analysis featuring Cordova
-more interactions with the crew
-some sidequests like helping Saw or the people of Dathomir (I am hoping for DLCs)
-some cutscenes to show the hierarchy within the inquisitors and establish them as a constant thread

I love reliving what was best about the classic films.

Running and jumping and timing your jumps and getting lost, then jumping.

So bored.

^ not quite sure what they mean by that (‘unique players’) - but sounds like a decent number of players!

The FE Renegades thread; from the people who post ‘go kill yourself’, ‘fuck you’, ‘let’s throw abuse’, and more at OT staff & members. Four years on and still throwing accusations, slurs and abuse at the OT & anyone outside their Salacious Crumb filled clique. + FE Discord “to vent” more at the OT. Wook’s take.

Awesome news!

I’ve read a couple of articles with rumors they are thinking of doing a sequel to this, and maybe even expand the franchise of Jedi: Fallen Order into other formats - probably book, comics and merchandise!

Has a sequel to this officially been announced yet?

(I can’t find any - but there are lots of rumours and unofficial claims)

Andrew Wilson the CEO of EA referred to Fallen Order as the "first title in an entirely new franchise” in a recent conference call.

This game is great, except for the way it seems to take place just a few years after the prequels and yet they have all the technology from Rogue One. Pacing is weird on the later worlds though. I’m talking about after you meet that one certain bearded guy. Oh and glitches and stuff are still apparent. Also how many ponchos does one man need…

I think the flashback of Cal’s training and the Order 66 flashbacks for Cal and Cere fit perfect for Revenge of the Sith.

After EA confirmed they “will continue to invest in the Jedi Fallen Order franchise” I do hope we will see a sequel as good as the original. Not a cash grab as with some other titles. Maybe the next J:FO will more focus on the Inquisitors or other worthy opponent?
