It’s fascinating and tragic how people have been victimized by the Star Wars fandom. Kelly Marie, Ahmed Best, and Jake Lloyd have all been crucified by obsessed and mean-spirited fans.

Rian Johnson too - similar abuse to what the above have endured - including death threats and announcements of his death too. JJ Abrams received a quite a bit of abuse too if I recall. Kathleen Kennedy as well.

Don’t pretend that all of us haven’t individually and collectively played into this. It’s nobody’s and everybody’s fault. He was bound to internalize the criticism regardless of whether it was pointed at him personally or just the character.
Don’t pretend that some people aren’t much more responsible than others. Like this piece of [REDACTED].
Yes, its funny but more so pathetic that he takes random words from random people that seriously.
Oh, you mean “shit”?
precisely

Other actors have played characters that people despised without it becoming personal. Maybe if he opens up about it with his podcast(?) we’ll know more about the situation.

That’s right, and hell, George has gotten a lot of horrible stuff like that too for longer than any of them have. The list goes on and on and I think the list will just keep getting longer, unfortunately.

And you will. Just give the Zombie Apocalypse time to occur.
Wait, what?

Is there evidence Lucas was threatened publicly? The only specific creepy thing I remember was that one forum member a decade ago who was always going on about how he wanted to bury George with a shovel. That guy was disturbing as heck.

I remember Patton Oswalt having a bit about killing George Lucas as midnight with a shovel. It was obviously a joke, though, because it was during his stand up.

I don’t know. I just know he’s gotten the same abuse directed toward him that people like Jake Lloyd and Kelly Marie Tran and Ahmed Best have gotten.

Clone Wars is back, I guess.
Yeah, I just saw the trailer, but I’m not quite sure yet what exactly it is. I’m assuming they’ve finally finished the previously cancelled and half-finished seventh season, right? Or is this something new?
Wikipedia (currently) only says they’re releasing 12 new episodes.

After the sheer amount of fan begging there was for it, I guess it’s a pretty smart move on Disney’s part; it may be one of the few things they can do to bring the fandom back together.
That was unexpected. Certainly a win-win situation for everyone involved right now.
