I know I’m harping on an Adam Sandler movie here, but do they really expect people to believe you could get a sweet Chewie mask like this out of a claw machine in an 1980’s arcade?

Having hung out in many an arcade in that era, I don’t think so!

Sure, but only if you defeated Polybius first and immediately ascended to Arcade Godhood.

I feel like that joke has been made before, on more than one occasion, but it’s still funny.

‘Han Solo ‘blaster’ fetches $550,000 in New York’…

Collectors everywhere may well be re-checking their goods after that… 😉

It looks plastic

A lot of the post-ANH props (incl. Han’s blaster) were made from model kits as opposed to real weapon parts. (Some of the miniatures where even made from SW model kits.)

Or it could be a stunt prop.

This video talks a lot about the parts that the original DL-44’s were made from:
Adam Savage’s One Day Builds: Han Solo’s DL-44 Blaster

Article says it’s mostly wood. It’s probably a stunt prop and not a hero prop.

I know a lot of the stunt stormtrooper rifles were casts (not sure what material, probably plastic or some type of foam rubber) of the original props.

So presumably it’s just a makeshift version to be holstered in the non action scenes then, rather than one that operates or the kind Harrison is using in all the publicity photos.

Well, a stunt prop is just that. It’s for stunts, long shots where the detail can’t be seen anyway, and scenes where the more detailed, expensive, and fragile hero prop might get damaged.

I think it’s an antenna for some sort of beacon/emergency transmitter similar to what Han was using when searching for Luke on Hoth.

I just realised that Danny the Dealer from Withnail is the same actor who played Ric Olié.

Also I only remember this random TPM character because of this forum. What a time to be alive.

“Don’t get uptight with me young man. Cos if you do, I’ll have to give you a dose of medicine. And if I spike you, you’ll know you’ve been spoken to.”

Don’t really know where to post this, just thought it was sad.

Aw man, it wasn’t his fault…it was George’s. And even if it was, he wouldn’t have deserved what I’m sure he faced.

Wow, I can’t even imagine what that was like. We all have our fun with Jar Jar, but to take things out on the actor behind the character is beyond the pale. There are some sick people in the fandom.

And Ahmed is one heck of a good sport voicing Jar Jar on Robot Chicken. He even got an an award for it!

Oh my god, that breaks my heart. To hell with the people who hated him because of that role.

Not enough people read the EU.
