“I need to show Jedi can’t be in love and have sex with other people. What should I do? I know! I’ll give the woman a very tight, dominatrix-like dress!”

Brilliant.

Yoda fighting like Sonic in AotC should get a mention.

Yes it should, I don’t know how it hasn’t yet. But also in ROTS.

No. Both are bland and pointless and devoid of any heart and soul. They’re full of completely uncompelling characters and exist purely to cash in on names and imagery associated with a much better film (Star Wars).

Yeah I don’t see a single thing you said I agreed with, but I’m sure there’s no reason to continue.

I just don’t appreciate being called a delusional troll in my own thread.

And of course oojason is nowhere to be seen.

I apologized already, but if that’s not good enough for you I guess you should report me instead of complaining that a mod isn’t here all day.

Did no one mention Greedo shooting first? Really? 😮 Still, my vote is either Han stepping on Jabba’s tail or the casino/hacker subplot in Episode VIII. They both make me cringe. 😛

Since George refuses to acknowledge the existence of the originals, I refuse to acknowledge the existence of the SE. :p

I thought he was a myth.

Seriously though isn’t whining about the mods in off topic more than enough? Especially since this was less than nothing and already sorted out between the two members, neither of which I’m sure officially complained about it anyway.

I’d have to put the Bor Gullet scene at the top, and the lead-up to it.

They told me they’d fixed it!

I think the Yoda vs Palpatine fight in ROTS would have been better received if we hadn’t already seen Yoda fight (and achieve absolutely nothing) in AOTC.

For me it’s definitely everything that happens between Finn and Rey meeting Han and Chewie and their escape on aboard the Falcon. The whole sequence plays out like some sort of farcical slapstick with the stupid rathtars and the space gangs, I felt as if the movie turned into a parody of itself.

A close second would be the conversation between Anakin and Palpatine in the Opera house. Seriously, this guy with no apparent ties to the Force is revealing himself to be very knowledgeable about the Sith and talks a great deal about how the dark side is better whilst making no effort whatsoever in hiding his contempt for the Jedi and Anakin, a Jedi Knight, does not find it the least bit suspicious, instead calmly listening to everything he says.

I don’t see how anyone could say that that’s the lowest point of the prequels. Anakin hates the Jedi too so I can see why he isn’t offended. The main problem with it is that Anakin acts shocked at the reveal later.

I personally would say that the droid assembly line sequence in AOTC is the worst sequence ever to appear on screen in a Star Wars film. It’s long, bland, inconsequential, and ultimately completely forgettable. Do you agree? What would you say is the worst? The Ewok movies don’t count, the Clone Wars animated movie or TV shows don’t count, the Holiday Special doesn’t count, and Rebels doesn’t count. We’re only counting the live action films: episodes I-VIII and R1.

Funny, to me that’s one of the best sequences in the prequels. Memorable, and one of the few scenes in which I felt something. Anything.

To chose just one worst is impossible for me. I’ll try one for each movie.
TPM - the podrace
AOTC - hard to chose, maybe the fireplace scene between Anakin and Padme?
ROTS - almost all of them?
SW - absolutely nothing
ESB - absolutely nothing
ROTJ - the song number, Lapti Nek or Jedi Rocks, both suck IMHO
TFA - I hated the whole “Death Star 3.0, now even bigger!” subplot
R1 - bumping into the Mos Eisley cantina aliens, and the whole tentacle monster subplot
TLJ - Way too many scenes to chose from, but the biggest insult was the casino planet subplot. Way too long and absolutely pointless to the overall story, and too political

Wait wait wait, you think the AOTC droid factory scene is one of the best scenes in the prequels but Canto Bight is pointless?

Correct. If you are suggesting that the droid factory is pointless too, I agree. Still, as I said, that was one of the few scenes in the prequels which evoked any emotional reaction in me. Canto Bright didn’t.

The factory scene is quite terrible for many reasons, but the droid stuff is the worst part within. Without it, it’s just a dumb action scene that serves as a transition from “our heroes walk in the bad guys lair” to “oh, now they are in big trouble !”. Not pointless, just… not very good.

As for Yoda’s fighting in RotS, he doesn’t jump like Sonic anymore, so the scene is better (and besides it has a symbolic value which is almost none existant in AotC). The most terrible sequence for me in RotS is the scene where Anakin makes his choice, especially the lightning part with the melting face. I like the movie as a whole, but this sequence was so embarrassing… (thanks to fanedited versions for having that corrected in a way I’m more at peace with now).
