I’m wondering if the trailer could be delayed because of Lucasfilm waiting for the director’s guild to approve Ron Howard as the the main director or not.

I don’t see why that would delay a trailer, unless they really want to include the words “From Director Ron Howard” in it or something.

I’m pretty sure the trailers for the other three movies were released before they received official ratings. Certainly the teasers, anyway.

That’s not true, we got TFA a year out, it had no rating. The first trailer for TLJ had no rating back in April I believe.
Since we are so close to release, I’m sure they are waiting for something, like attaching Ron Howard’s name, a rating, or something. It’s really close according to the director.

That synopsis is a joke. It tells us nothing we didn’t already know. He’ll meet Chewie and Lando in the movie. The Falcon’s in it.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad or anything. I actually think it’s hilarious how little anyone knows about this.

I didn’t know Han would “meet” Chewie in the movie. I was hoping that had already happened before this story begins.
I still fear this will be a feature length version of the opening to Last Crusade where we see Indy get all of his defining traits in a single scene.

So what? That opening is just a big wink and nod to the audience, and a fun one at that. Why is that a problem?

Because it’s lame and reductive. It takes away what should be years of development a boils it all down to one moment. People don’t become who they are in an instant.
Learning how he met Chewie and Lando, won the Falcon, made the kessel run, fell into debt with gangsters ect. could be doled out over time through several stories. That would be much more interesting, fun and believable.
Just my opinion, of course.

Isn’t this film supposed to cover several years of Han’s life?
I think Kennedy or Iger said something like that a while back.

Yes, like 17 (racing his speeder with that girl), then jumps to 25 (when he wins the Falcon from Lando, frees Chewie, and wins the Kessell Run)
But something more interesting I was thinking about. Isn’t it strange that we see Ewan McGregor sporting a beard and looking alot like Obi-wan, around the same time reshoots are coming up, hmmmm. Go ahead and totally deny it Lucasfilm. Nothing is going on here.

Ewan looked like Obi Wan in the Jesus movie he did a couple years back too. Something not lost on those making fake Obi Wan movie trailers.
Just be glad we’re not getting the young unkempt Han hanging out with the Wookiees Lucas was going to pull for Episode III. 😉

I don’t know who Mike Zeroh is, but i did google him before i posted that link, and he seems like some kinda social media guy, so maybe i shouldn’t have posted it. I generally avoid twitter and youtube so I am in the dark to some of this. Is he generally worthless?
