General Star Wars Questions — Page 3

Given the earlier discussion, especially the mention of Qui-Gon cutting the door, I feel this ought to be mentioned. Honestly I’m a little surprised it hasn’t been.

Concerning Cinemasins, I think you can at least get a laugh out of them, even if you don’t always agree with what Jeremy says. Shaun is working himself over nothing. It’s not meant to be taken seriously…at least I hope not.

If you watch more of Shaun’s (and other’s) videos about cinemasins, you will see evidence that they are serious about what they say and that many people see their videos as serious criticism of the movies. And even if it’s all supposed to be a joke, they simply are not funny.

It’s makes me happy that this thread has become the CinemaSins (or whatever it is) thread so the real random questions thread can still be used properly.

Red letter media is utter crap and they are as annoying as all hell. Just watch the beginning of their abhorrent Rogue One review. Their review is complete whiny garbage!

I agree that their R1 review was dumb. Bafflingly so even. There’s plenty of real reasons someone might not like that film, but most of the things they brought up just don’t make sense as complaints.
But usually I love their videos.

Even though I disagree with their RO review, I can at least see that they put some effort in it, unlike Cinemasins, who are absolutely lazy and dishonest.

RLM is great, so was their R1 commentary and all the related videos.

This.
I don’t always agree with RLM’s reviews (and often haven’t seen the films anyway), but their opinions always seem honest and their reviews are well thought out and all of the guys are fun to watch n’ listen to. Usually.

Why did Obi-Wan lie about not knowing R2? I know that it’s because the prequels were written after the OT and it was a mistake, but what’s the canon justification? I’m just curious.

The Person in Question

He wasn’t lying; just being a smartass. R2 was Anakin’s droid, not his, and, for all we know, he may have technically been the property of the Jedi Temple.

Author
Time

He very well may not have remembered. He doesn’t seem to give a shit about droids in the prequels.

He actually never says he doesn’t know R2.

Yeah, this is a nitpick I got over years ago.

I’m more concerned why Owen didn’t recognize Threepio.

He also never gives any indication of knowing him, or C-3PO. I would be bothered by that if I took the prequels seriously.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Because they had the genius idea of making him silver in AOTC and therefor completely unrecognizable. Heh
