I think that the force needs to be limited in what it can do. Otherwise certain people, you know who you are, will post things on forums like, “Why didn’t Vader just nab the Death Star plans when he was in that hallway at the end of Rogue One?” when they know full well that while said scene was going on he had a dozen Rebel Fleet Troopers trying to shoot him. You know come to think of it an infinitely better question would be is why didn’t Vader using the force in A New Hope sniff out the Rebel’s hidden fortress? When the force can do anything like corral a ship that has it’s engines on and is moving forward the writers of these movies opens up a can of worms and plot holes.

When has the Force been shown to corral a moving ship in the movies?

I never said that the force has corralled a moving ship in the movies now did I?! You misunderstood my post which was quite a simple one to be honest with you.

Then you might need to make it even simpler cuz I don’t understand what you’re saying if you are now saying that that is not what you are saying…

I thought they’d have some sort of safety switch on them too? - y’know, just in case one of these things accidentally gets brushed or touched and the Jedi loses his leg or something…

Do they have a safety switch?

Oh my, that picture is hilarious. Obi-Wan just had to be thinking that Luke was a complete idiot.

It was that pic or this one…

😃

You made my day!

He was saying that when the EU let’s the Jedi do crazy stupid things with their powers, it opens up silly plot holes in the movies. So the Jedi should never have such crazy powers.

I dunno why he couldn’t just say that instead of trying to make you look dumb. Not very nice. Or successful.

The force’s abilities are inconsistent throughout the movies. Just watch the cinemasins videos on the Star Wars movies. There needs to be limitations on what the force can do.

Some great points in there from Shaun (with a good accent there 😃)

For some reason I don’t think he rates Cinemasins too highly…

I don’t know how you got that impression, I mean yes, one video is called “CinemaSins is Wrong About Everything”, but are you really sure?

I’ve never seen a YouTube review of anything that kept my interest long enough to finish watching.

Sean - the lad who doesn’t like CinemaSins - also did a decent video on The Force Awakens last year… (featuring Star Wars overall, the ‘Mary Sue’, and other complaints at the time etc)

I read “Cinemasins” as Cinna-Masons somehow.

I knew CinemaSins was utter crap when I tried watching their Stargate video.

There’s also multiple instances (first shown, I think, in ROTS when Yoda is chopping up clones outside the Temple) of a character throwing a lightsaber, the blade impaling a victim, and the saber staying in place just like a sword or other physical object would, rather than falling to the ground and partially bisecting the victim.

When watching TFA, during the scene on the bridge, I had the thought about how a normal saber would have just cleanly impaled someone, but Ren’s saber was continually sparking random bits of plasma up inside Han’s torso, burning the rest of his insides as it was held there.

And now I’ll never be able to watch TFA without imaginig hundreds of holes being melted through Han’s organs during that scene…

Whenever I watch Han’s death in TFA I think back to how it should’ve been in a much different i.e. better Return of the Jedi.
