I came across the Proxy Edits for Star Wars Prequels years ago, I have never seen them mentioned on this site or on the IFDB site. Are they generally obscure? I see they are not on this list either
I kind of remember them - yet for some reason they don’t seem to have a thread on here (that I can recall). A pity as they looked intriguing edits… with a unique and novel approach. 👍
The Proxy Edits trailer was pretty decent too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfY3iyn0DRc
This site had a good write-up for them : http://thetoybox1138.blogspot.com/2017/12/star-wars-proxy-edits.html
^ the download links provided in both the trailer and above site do NOT work - and haven’t for some years.
Hopefully someone one here may still have a copy somewhere that they’re willing to share - and certainly feel free to create a thread for the Proxy Edits if you think it may help achieve that. Good luck with it. 👍
I have all three but was originally considering deleting them as the cutlist doesn’t match what I look for in prequel edits. I agree they seem quite unique though, and learning that their availability is so scarce, I think I shall make a thread for them so people can PM to get a copy.
Nice one, Miles00x - much appreciated. I’m a bit of a TFU fan (and Proxy is a much-underrated / oft-forgotten droid) - so I’ll certainly be PMing you for a copy. 👍
can i get a link pls
Why not simply send a PM to NeverarGreat - as requested in the opening post of his quality project thread?
This is a comprehensive fanedit of The Force Awakens based on Hal 9000’s TFA Restructured, and is available via Private Message.
In general, simply sending a PM (unless asked otherwise) is the default way of asking for fan projects on here…

I have Blender 2.79, and Davinci Resolve 17, but I don’t know how to make the SW crawl. Are there step-by-step instructions anywhere? Any help I could get?
I don’t know much re Blender or Davinci Resolve… although there are a number of related threads on making Star Wars crawls in the following category of this Index:-

“There’s nothing in there that’s some juicy tidbit just for the hell of it. Everything has to be organic. That’s been our attitude all the way through: not to be cynical, and to take it more seriously than anybody ever took it. Even while we’re changing — some people feel as though it’s changing a lot — but even while we’re changing the grammar of what you can do, we’re trying very rigorously to be more serious about this shit than anybody ever has been.” - Tony Gilroy (Gizmodo).
“This has been the most important thing I’ll ever get to do in terms of how much imagination went into it, how much work went into it, how much of a better writer I became doing it, how much I learned doing it, and how important the subject matter was and the scale of it. It’s hard to imagine that a situation like this would ever come around again.” - Tony Gilroy (Playlist)
Thanks for the kind words, guys (and to everyone in the PMs as well). ❤️
Massive credit to puzosep and SnooPac - plus many others with some kind & most useful assistance. A true community effort.
I’d also like to thank Atom-88 - who has very kindly allotted me some significant online storage space to host some of these projects.
It has certainly evolved and grown from the 30/40 projects I initially thought of listing up and trying to make easily available!
The new 4TB hard drive is already nearly full - so will soon be casting an envious eye on those lovely looking 8TB drives on sale… (Edit: 8tb drive now bought and quickly getting filled!) - with the GoFile online storage also close to being full (~3TB). Although there is still a little more online space being kept aside for a few additional projects to hopefully be included soon…
We’re also now at 194 2️⃣6️⃣2️⃣ projects listed up and available in here (as of Tuesday 8th July, 2025).
As always, if anybody out there reading this would like to share any projects they have for other OT preservations on the OriginalTrilogy•com not already listed above, please PM me. 👍

I loved watching this again recently - though hadn’t realised Jonno had completed projects for both The Empire Strikes Back (a 7.50gb mkv file) and Return of The Jedi (a 5.50gb mkv file), too.
Found them all on Myspleen - and were a pure pleasure to watch. Thanks Jonno. 👍
Edit: Plus, the other films in and outside the GFFA too - on his quality youtube channel: www.youtube.com/@jonnof77/videos
Kinda nice to see this bumped. I can’t remember if I ever said, but my plan (which never happened) was to Backstroke all of Frink’s trilogy for him…but he never seemed to care (which really frustrated me, along with other aspects of his strange personality), so it became like more of a hobby which slowly fizzled out for me.
Anyway, I put a HUGE amount of work into making a gigantic glossary and putting things in proper order. In doing so, I got a lot of insight into the “logic” of the original Backstroking. There were so many times where things would come up and I’d think ‘oh yeah, I get where they were going with that…’ It helped me to finalize a lot. And now I can confidently Backstroke just about anything, not just Star Wars.
Aaaaaanyway, I’m looking in an old folder, and I’m not sure I posted these before; one scene from ESB, then two from…
I’d love to see the whole Saga ‘Backstroked’ and released - it’d sure be a lot of work… yet also seems like a lot of fun to be had with it, too.
Bomberman (via a SNES emulator - still has that lovely retro ‘midi’ sound)…

Finally had a chance to watch some of the preservation of the October 1982 broadcast of Star Wars on ITV and I am absolutely blown away by the luminous colors . Simply beautiful ! Even with the tracking issues and slight PAL speedup of the audio , I’m amazed by the quality compared to the NTSC broadcasts we got here in the states . Not sure who initiated and made the final transfer /project a reality , but thank you ! This was a real treat !
Hi there, apologies for any forum etiquette failures, I’m new here.
Is there a downloadable version of the UK 1982 ITV broadcast?
If not, could someone who might have a copy tell me if Luke misses with the grappling hook?
Apologies if this has been asked a million times and causes a laugh or facepalm, I’m desperate.Cheers
Hi and welcome, HappyToast. Both the ITV UK Premiere screenings of… Star Wars (shown on 24th October, 1982) - and Empire Strikes Back (shown on 25th December, 1988)… are available in here (check under the ‘TV Screening Preservations’ category):-

There is a ‘30+ post requirement’ to be able to acquire any of the projects listed in there.
Unfortunately we don’t have a copy of the ITV premiere for Return Of The Jedi (shown on 26th December, 1989)…
Re the grappling hook scene in Star Wars… Mocata summed it up pretty well above.
A thread on the topic, here: my memory isn’t that bad, is it? (in SW '77 - Luke misses with the grappling hook?)
