Ukraine official dub for the 1997 Special Editions of the Original Trilogy - as shown on 1+1 TV through 2004 to 2007.

The following info has been kindly provided by the superb team who made this project available: Old TV Elektron youtube channel…

Regarding 1+1 TV Channel ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%2B1_(TV_channel) ), unfortunately, there was no dubbing during the initial broadcast of the trilogy in 2002, albeit a top-notch multi voice over beloved by the viewers both back then and now.

The movies were that of 1997 Special Edition.

Thus, within 2004 - 2007, 1+1 TV Channel broadcast the movies employing three voices:-

  1. the voice of Volodymyr Necheporenko IMDB (though on IMDB the transliteration is as in Russian; therefore, it should be the way we’ve put it). He voiced Darth Vader, Master Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and the rest of the older characters.

  2. the voice of Andrii Tverdak IMDB. He voiced Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, C3PO and the rest of the younger characters.

  3. the voice of Olena Blinnikova IMDB - She voiced all the female characters.

Specification

Size - 12gb total (SW: 3.9gb | ESB: 3.95gb | ROTJ: 4.14gb).
File Format - MPEG.
Source - SECAM; VHS / home video taping (no adverts during the films)
Image - 4:3.

The project can be acquired in: 📍 A few available Original Trilogy Preservations - from a long time ago . . . . 📍

Some additional info on later Ukraine audio dubs for the Original Trilogy - from Old TV Elektron youtube channel…

In 2009, ICTV TV Channel ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICTV_(Ukraine) ) broadcast the movies with respect to 2004 SE DVDs.

The voicing was done by studio TV+ commissioned by ICTV.

The voicing cast is bigger:-

  1. Andrii Fedinchyk (again, we provide transliteration the way the proper names initially are spelled in Ukrainian, not Russian) https://www.imdb.com/name/nm7624180/ - Luke Skywalker

  2. Mykhailo Zhonin https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2698289/ - Han Solo (our unsolicited opinion - an excellent choice for Han)

  3. Liudmyla Ardelian https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8819218/ - Princess Leia

  4. Anatolii Zinovenko https://dubdb.fandom.com/wiki/Anatoliy_Zinovenko - Obi-Wan Kenobi

  5. Mykhailo Voichuk https://kinobaza.com.ua/persons/mykhailo-voichuk - Darth Vader

  6. Mykhailo Tyshyn https://kinobaza.com.ua/persons/mykhailo-tyshyn - C3PO

  7. The following actors were also employed Yevhen Pashyn ( https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0664542/ ), Borys Heorhiivskyi ( https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1227626/ ), and Yurii Kudriavets https://kinobaza.com.ua/persons/yurii-kudriavets

In 2018, Episodes IV - V - VI were dubbed by LeDoyen Studio (https://www.ledoyen.com.ua/en/about-us) - on commission from Disney Character Voices International.

Emmanuelle - the 70’s porn film series, is out in HD on blu ray.

Flesh Gordon - the 1970’s sex comedy/parody, is also out in HD on blu ray.

BFI to screen Star Wars 1977 Theatrical Version
Time

Opening night – Star Wars (Thursday 12th June)

An unmissable treat for Star Wars fans. A long time ago, George Lucas’s original space fantasy set in a galaxy far, far away was released in 1977, captivating countless imaginations for generations to come and forever shifting popular culture. Film on Film presents Star Wars exactly as experienced by audiences on its original release, screening from one of the precious handful of dye transfer IB Technicolor prints produced for the first British release, preserved in the BFI National Archive.

On display to coincide with the opening night screening there is also a rare opportunity to view material from the original continuity script for Star Wars, which includes rare on-set Polaroids, annotations and deleted scenes. The script is from the collection of Ann Skinner, script editor on the original film, and is now cared for by the BFI National Archive.

and

The prints in this year’s programme have many stories to tell. There’s the original, unfaded dye transfer IB Technicolor British release print of Star Wars (1977), preserved in the BFI National Archive, and ready to transport us to a long time ago, and a galaxy far, far away, back to the moment in 1977 when George Lucas’s vision cast a spell on cinema audiences.

The whole article is well worth a read - and great to see BFI continuing to showcase many rare films and format variances.

Definitely have to try and get to this. The BFI do a quality job preserving and restoring various films in all formats - as anyone who has been to their many previous screenings and film festivals will attest.

On-sale dates

BFI Patrons – Tuesday 6 May (from 12:00)

BFI Members – Wednesday 7 May (from 12:00)

General sale – Friday 9 May (from 12:00)

Full details will be listed on the BFI website from Monday 28th April. (www.bfi.org.uk)

Article on The Grauniad: Star Wars original cut to be screened this summer in London

James Bell, senior curator of fiction at the BFI National Archive, said: “One of the ambitions of the BFI Film on Film Festival is to screen original release prints that transport audiences back to the moment a film was first released – to give audiences of today the special emotional connection that comes when viewing the very same object seen by a film’s original audience.

“In the case of Star Wars, the festival screening is a unique opportunity to present the film to audiences in exactly the same form as they would have watched it in 1977.”

The BFI said Lucasfilm and Disney had granted permission for the original version to be screened. There are no plans to show the original cuts of The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi.

Making 4 ‘link request’ posts in less than 7 days is a bit impatient, mate. Look around the site and you’ll realise it can take weeks or months before someone can receive a link.

Plus, some members choose not to give links to ‘hit & runners’ - nor to people who only ask for links and give nothing back in return - no feedback, no reviews, no helping others with queries, nor simply joining in with the discussions across the boards - or making any effort to be a part of the community on here.

Hi everyone, thank you for the interest in the 4K filmized remasters and fanedits. Unfortunately, I have to take a break from this amazing journey because of other priorities. The Alien Saga Redux will probably be my last thread on this forum until a long time. Every project teased and/or released until now will still be available. You’ll always be able to reach me in private. Anyone being active on the forum will always get a DM. But on the other side, anyone creating an account only to send me a DM won’t have any reply. During the last days, I’ve received many link requests from new accounts that unfortunately cannot be trusted. I hope you’ll understand. Take care everyone and thank you for your reviews and replies. It’s been a lot of fun.

<strong>Tales of the Underworld</strong> <em>(animated series)</em> - a general discussion thread
Time

Two Favorite Star Wars Bounty Hunters are Back for Tales of the Underworld- article at the official Star Wars website.

In the newly revealed trailer and poster, catch up with Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane before the third season of original shorts debuts May 4, 2025 on Disney+.

'Lady Asajj Ventress and her yellow lightsaber are back alongside the infamous quick-draw Cad Bane in a new anthology of animated shorts.

Today, Lucasfilm and Disney+ announced Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, the third installment in the Tales anthology series following Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, revisiting beloved characters to explore previously untold yet pivotal stories. Streaming on Disney+ this Star Wars Day, May the 4th, Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode journey following two notorious bounty hunters: former dark side assassin Asajj Ventress as she’s given a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally, and outlaw Cad Bane as he faces his past when he confronts an old friend, now a marshal on the other side of the law.

In the new trailer for the series, fans get a glimpse at how Ventress and Bane are surviving in the shadow of the Empire. In a tattered cloak, Ventress — last seen in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 — ignites her saber to face a mysterious enemy with a red blade while a young Padawan grapples with life after Order 66. And donning his iconic hat, Bane finds himself in another tense blaster fight as steelpeckers circle overhead, a standoff that reminds us of his live-action appearance in The Book of Boba Fett.’

The new key art for the series gives us a closer look at a host of new characters and one other familiar face: Latts Razzi, the Theelin bounty hunter we first met in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Ventress, Bane, and the rest hover over a credit symbol, the third in a trilogy of posters that previously showcased the Jedi Order symbol and the Imperial cog emblem.
