SSWR's Attack of the Clones - Alternate Timeline Edit — Page 3

The matte painting approach is interesting, however even the OT often had many things happening in a single shot - consider the Ewok celebration:

There are several areas of movement within even a static matte painting. So I’d suggest adding a few other ships in the distance, entering or leaving the clouds.

I thought I’d post this one SFX shot and see if I could get some feedback. This is me still at the beginning stages of learning After Effects. I know what needs to be accomplished, but I don’t think I know the best way to get there:

I’m just having a hard time making the ship blend in with the background.

I think I went about rotoscoping the wrong way. I used the pen tool to basically make an outline around the ship, but now I’m seeing other videos that say the best way is to use simple (but multiple) shapes (w/the pen tool) to be more accurate.

I did use the color match (premiere) button but still adjusted the colors because it made it too blue. Still, it looks off to me.

Also you might notice the background looking a bit off. I used the content aware tool to remove the Naboo fighter. I tried to adjust the movement of the Jedi Starfighter to pass by just as the image looks really funky but you can still see it anyway.

Anyone care to comment?

Is there a light wrap function available? where like, light from the background footage sort of affects the foreground?

The black wrap from the old background is making it stick out a whole lot

Guys, I fixed the worst shot in Attack of the Clones:

I find that answer vague and unconvincing. Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? And say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

PM me for links to my edits; apparently, some feel shy about this.
