Our likely best hope of a professionally done restoration for a 4K theatrical version of the Original Trilogy probably lies here - with poita’s superb The Original Trilogy restored from 35mm prints ongoing project.
Solely as a member here, I’d recommend anyone & everyone to have a look through the above thread, to contribute to help bring about something that many of us here, if not near-on all of us on this site, want to see come to fruition.

I read through 3 pages worth of threads today to catch up and I couldn’t find the reason why Warb left. Granted, I didn’t read the politics thread because oh god no, so I guess that whatever happened happened in there, but yeah.

I don’t think there was one specific incident that caused it this time, just a lot of pent-up stuff boiling over.

Well, the latest is The Sims 4 Pets just came out a few months back and was the best selling pack for the game so far. Then they put out a DLC for a DLC for the first time and no one was happy.
I remember playing a lot of The Sims 2 and then 3 when that one came out. I ended up getting most of the DLCs that were released up till june/2011 for 3, too. Never played 4 or 1 though.
Sims 3 didn’t have DLC, it had Expansions 😛 . Sims 4 is a travesty. The original is more fun to play, and in some aspects isn’t as limited as 4 (crazy, right?). I spent a lot of time with the second and third games, I couldn’t tell you which one I’ve spent more time on (probably 2).
These days I can’t even play 3. It’s just so unoptimized it’s painful to run, and it was never as much fun as the second game anyway. People criticize the fourth game for removing the open world, but I never really saw much use for that in a Sims game anyway, most of it was empty space that ate up valuable resources.
And here I am still angry at what they did to SimCity…

I’m angry at what happened with Spore, and disappointed with the Sims 4. The SimCity fiasco at least made them rework TS4 into an offline game. But it’s just so shallow in comparison to the earlier entries.

The only thing I didn’t get for 3 during the time I played it was the crazy Katy Perry pink/candy world thing. What the heck was that. You’re right, I was being facetious ^_^. But TS4 definitely treats their add-ons more like DLC in the worst possible way. They still call them Expansions and Stuff Packs (and Game Packs, woopie…) but they’re much less substantial.

Yeah, that’s around when I lost interest in The Sims for maybe the second or third time. It was the first time I was truly embarrassed to be a fan of the series. I just recently became interested again.

See, I really can’t tell which I played more. I’ve had 2 longer, but I went through a six-generation legacy in 3. I never spent that much time in a single neighborhood before, or a single family at the very least. Then again, I guess that’s one of the main differences between the two. One definitely favors playing a single family, and the other favors playing the whole neighborhood.
I’m about to hit the hay right in the mouth.
