This is really only for the people from the UK...

I moved house recently and need to be connected.
Any good broadband recommendations...I was with NTL, but bollox if I'm going to pay £35 a month for BB.

So, what do you guys use...?

I like to play games online too, so obviously I need something that doesn’t lag me out or re-connects every 10 mins!!

I thank you for reading!!

For home use I use Telewest broadband because we also use them for the telephone it may be just for a specific area (London) though but Im not sure, its generally reliable but I have had times when it has gone down because of technical problems. At work I use Tiscali broadband which has been very reliable.

bluyonder/telewest for me too.

I've been with them for years now (was on their dial-up and switched to broadband a couple of years ago) - never had a problem connecting, and always get a good download speed.

Good value for money - and if you have the cable tv, phone and internet package (3 for £30 a month) - the better

Hmm...I was with NTL at my old pad, but decided on getting Sky when I moved house. (only really for Sky+)
I don't trust the Sky broadband package, and I'm not too sure if NTL will let me have just the broadband without getting the phone line or TV package. And besides, NTL 10meg is £35 a month - fuck that.

Therefore, what I'm looking for is probably the best ADSL without any probs connecting and no probs D/L or playing games.
And man, there are a few to choose from....

Looking back I should have gone with NTL and have everything in one go...but my old bills were coming in at £85+ which is a bit high

Oh well, cheers anyway...suppose I'll have to keep looking around.

I am with ntl for broadband only. If you have been with them a while then you can phone up and say you're thinking of leaving, and you will normally get offered a reduced rate deal. You just need to phone them every 3 months or so. We're currently on 10Mb for £19.99 a month.

Customer support is crap but the service is pretty good (and you get access to some of the binary newsgroups).

Bought a second hand Sky dish + box + expired card off eBay, fitted it myself, gets us the free to view channels. Also still get some channels on the ntl digital stb that they never collected when we cancelled the TV subscription!

Our phone service is through Vonage for £7.99 a month (all geographic calls free) and a couple of contract mobiles.
