Just saw this on Twitter.
I suspect that Lucasfilm has been experimenting with different lightsaber effects for some time. Unstable blades were present in LucasArts’ 2008 game The Force Unleashed, along with lightsabers whose glow shimmers in waves from bottom to top like a refreshing TV screen.
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
Just saw this on Twitter.
“Best joke tellers in the galaxy”!
I’d love that this unused design from the very first movie would finally appear in a forthcoming film…
Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

It’s more possible than you might think and not exactly unused.

(It hasn’t happened yet)
But does he tell the best jokes in the galaxy? 😉

Of course, I’d like it more if the artist hadn’t slapped tattoos on her.
Duracell sock confirmed.
“His Vision Returns”

Probably been posted before - but fair play to whoever came up with this…
(edit - doh! Apologies - was meant to post this in the ‘random Star Wars pics’ thread.)

Hahahahahaha!
I liked it when this thread was exclusively “awesome” art.

I’m not sure that was ever the case. Take a look at the first page.
Of course, what counts as “awesome” is entirely subjective.
I think we should all be able to agree that “awesome” usually means “not shit.”
Sorry but that isn’t art and not sure if anyone would think the image before was awesome, either. You can find mediocre slave Leia images all around the web.
His Vision Returns is a great piece though but I’m pretty sure it has been posted before.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Nah, the original pic is cool. You can see neat details like the taxidermy-ed heads on Jabbas chair.

Nah, it’s stupid. Why is she still wearing that? Why is Han looking at the roof? The artist is talented, but that image is stupid from concept to completion. …which I’m sure it’s helped many geeks to achieve.
These are just my opinions, of course.
But I’m right.

OK, Han line of sight is slightly off. This scene is supposed to happen just when they returned to the Falcon, after escaping from Jabba at the Sarlacc Pit, and being caught in a sand storm along the way. Hence the sand in Han’s boot, and Leia still wearing the slave outfit…

Nah, no.

Yeah, yes.
Perhaps there should a “Discussion on the Objective/Subjective Nature of SW Art” thread.
Nah.
