Help: Looking for... Reivax DTV Capture of the 1997 Special Edition

According to https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-V2-7-MKV-Released/id/12713, one of the sources used in the Despecialized Edition was a Reivax DTV capture of the 1997 Special Edition. It was also used as a source for the Respecialized Edition. I would like to acquire a copy but I can’t find it anywhere. Any help would be useful. Thank you.

Mod Edit: just for info… there is some discussion on the Reivax DTV version of the 1997 SE (amongst other projects), here:-

Info: 1997 SE DV Broadcast Info & Discussion; and also in here too - Star Wars: SDTV & HDTV digital broadcast * database *

I love Japanese media and talk about voice acting a lot.

It appears to be on Usenet: search for “reivax” on nzbking•com and look at the last two results. The “free-usenet•com” news server has ceased to be, sadly. Unless you know of a good alternative to this (please let me know if so!) or you already have a Usenet account somewhere else, you’ll need to sign up to a free trial with one of the many providers.

I did not find it in any Usenet search.
Are there any screenshots?

I like the Special Edition from 1997 because of nostalgia.

Yes it’s linked to this thread with some infos added from you.
As it is also captured from a Digital Betacam tape like the Flunk release, a quality comparision would be fine, even if it’s only text based.
The Flunk release has more visible MPEG-2 compression artefacts compared to the DVB capture from TB.
Also Flunk has a too high contrast, which lacks some details in darker areas.

Team Blu wrote somewhere that the TB release was the highest quality capture if i remember correctly.
And they used it for they’re restoration.
But i interested in Reivax, since i read about Harmy’s Respecialized Edition used it as a source.

I like the Special Edition from 1997 because of nostalgia.

Here are some screenshots for a little comparison.
They’re in pixelratio 1:1 without any scaling for an unadulterated comparison.

Reivax:

  • A bit more blueish tint
  • Sometimes a little bit sharper, but often a bit less sharper
  • Overall less compression artefacts
  • But at scene changes the last frame has significant compression artifacts
  • At scene changes there are also horizontal lines

TB:

  • A bit more greenish tint.
  • Overall a little bit sharper
  • Overall more compression artefacts, but it’s still decent

Reivax:

In the second to last picture it is still ok.

But in the last frame before the scene change there are obvious compression artifacts in Reivax.
Look at the dark palces on the roofes and in the corners from the picture.
