Spoilers
I definitely didn’t expect Luthen to be cut out of the chain of command, but it makes sense. He wants to stay on Coruscant, doing his thing. I find it very hard to predict what’s left to do in this show, other than his death. It was nice that they wrote Bix out of Cassian’s life without killing her too.
So I guess what’s left is
- Luthen’s death. Maybe Kleya’s too, but not necessarily.
- Dedra’s death? Some other resolution? Probably death. I expect these last two events to be tied together
- Dedra learning what the kalkite is really for
- Cassian & K2-SO4 working together seems like a good idea, just for showing their friendship more
- More Melshi
- The Rebellion getting wind of the Death Star, or at least Bodhi’s defection
- Writing Vel out somehow to explain why she’s not part of the crew that join Cassian & Jyn
- Cassian’s personal journey as a single guy or however he views himself post-Bix
- A resolution to Wilmon & Dreena, and Wilmon’s relationship w/ Saw
- The breakdown of whatever relations there are between Saw and the Alliance

I was having an okay day today, until I saw this:
Bix went back for B2 and they are now living somewhere safe - and will see out the Galactic Civil War. That is the only way I can struggle through with that!
Otherwise, it is this all over again… 😢
I also got sent this 2 minute montage youtube video which somehow resulted in a lot of dust suddenly being in the room where I was located: My Love, you’re sleeping now | Andor - by ‘Star Wars Alert’ 😢.

'It’s almost time to send Cassian Andor off as he takes his final steps to Scarif in the Andor Season 2 finale next week.
To mark the occasion, the end of a five year journey for the cast and crew behind the critically-acclaimed and beloved Star Wars series, Star Wars YouTube will host a special LIVE Q&A — Andor Season 2 with Tony Gilroy & Diego Luna — covering the momentous events of Season 2.
Join creator Tony Gilroy and series star Diego Luna (Cassian Andor himself), Tuesday, May 13 at 12 pm ET / 9 am PT as they’re joined by special guests Denise Gough (Dedra Meero), Kyle Soller (Syril Karn), Elizabeth Dulau (Kleya Marki), Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma) and Adria Arjona (Bix Caleen) to talk about the journey so far.
“I think the banality of evil runs through the entire show,” Gilroy tells StarWars.com. “Season 1 is about the education and radicalization of Cassian, about the making of a revolutionary. Season 2 is…you could call it the ‘Winds of War.’ It’s a whole bunch of characters that hopefully you really care about and suddenly there’s that inevitable moment where things have just gone too far and the inertia of the Rebellion and Empire conflict is too strong. It’s coming. There’s no way to stop it. And I think it’s about a lot of people, ordinary people, being pressured by this unstoppable force of war that’s coming.”
Like the special look back at Andor Season 1 earlier this year (below), Gilroy and the cast will reflect on their experience making Season 2 while also taking live questions from fans watching the stream from home. Tune in and submit your question through the live chat for a chance to hear it answered on screen!
Then get ready for the series finale of Andor, with the final three-episode arc premiering May 13 at 6 p.m. PT only on Disney+.’

This seems to be an unpopular opinion among the American monomyth enjoyers, but
I don’t think Luthen and Kleya “have” to die. I don’t think characters that we don’t see in the OT have to die. I don’t think that characters who have done questionable things for the rebellion don’t get to experience and participate in rebuilding the new, better world, and heal together with the more pure of heart characters. Luthen has been cut out of the chain of command, and there’s no reason he can’t have continued to be a spy on Coruscant or something through the war. The rebel life he leads is one of the riskiest of all the people in the rebellion, but it would definitely be a nice subversion of the cowboy trope for the guy who’s sacrificing everything for “a sunrise he knows he will never see” to actually be one of the few OGs that do get to see that sunrise in the end.
As for Dedra, I think she finds out what they’re really doing with those rocks, and I don’t know what’s going to happen, but probably the obvious thing would be for her to eventually be posted on the Death Star, right?
Anyway, I agree with all the praises of the show’s nuanced writing and music and stuff, obviously. There is room for different genres in Star Wars, but I do miss this level of subtlety in other shows (namely whenever Filoni does a politics-related plot or whenever anyone but Zahn writes Thrawn…)
reylo?
This perfectly explains my nitpick; missing sequences.
Gilroy On Scrapped “Andor” Horror Episode

I don’t understand; how is it “missing” if they rewrote the episodes after they realized that episode had to be cut?

Completely agree.
This show actually does for Rogue One what a lot of people say the Filoni show does for the prequels. Rogue One is a better movie as the Serenity to Andor’s Firefly than it is as a paint by numbers steal the Death Star plans prequel movie.
Hm I hope so, but at this stage I’m still not a Rogue One fan. Mostly because it centers around Jyn who’s still a nothing character.
I don’t understand; how is it “missing” if they rewrote the episodes after they realized that episode had to be cut?
But it would have made far more sense if the droid followed them onto a ship because it was relentless, rather than the re-write where it was just randomly picked off the ground during a massacre.
Picking up K2 off the ground makes perfect sense. Those droids are extremely deadly and almost impervious to blaster fire. They don’t have any counter to it. If Cassian is already hopping on a truck and it’s right there, why wouldn’t you take it back? You would want to study it for weaknesses, reverse engineer it, or use it. He stole an experimental TIE interceptor at the beginning of the season for the same reason.
I thought it worked out perfectly in the show. 🤷♂️ And yeah, we know Cassian is obsessed with stealing high tech Imperial equipment.
It’s honestly such a small nitpick. It really feels like people are trying to find something to complain about…

Wow, I would have killed for more of this show. But so thankful for what we got! Hot take, but I think this final arc was my favorite of the season. Hard to deny last week’s though, so I’m not ready to lock that in. Definitely going to need to rewatch. If I didn’t have work in a few hours, I’d throw on Rogue One right now!
Also, really enjoyed the classic SW score that kicked in towards the end of the credits.

amazing just amazing
one thing i saw on twitter that i agree a lot with is that different from the others shows, Andor fells like essential to watch star wars, is something that the other shows despite their subjective quality feels like just just optional stuff, that is more fine with the cartoons but the live action shows not so much.
9/10
idk
Thanks for recommending the series Jason and sticking with it.
I haven’t liked anything else they’ve done recently. Except for Ronin from Visions.
I even think light and magic while initially awesome petered off.
There isn’t much on the Disney service worthy of one’s time and effort to fully digest it.
Andor is well written and has good sets and production values, it does not look completely faked in the volume and cgi. Nor is it insultingly cartoonish.
Finale was great! I’m still kind of bugged by
what they ended up doing with the character of Bix (i.e. pretty much nothing except making her this unachievable dream for Cass), but yay Vel, yay Kleya, good that they showed Perrin, even though they probably shouldn’t have cut the scenes with him from the previous arc. Yikes what a poetically cruel ending for Dedra,
and agreed Vladius vis-a-vis Rogue One (even though it’s still not the best movie imo lol - but this for sure enriches it).
The time-jumping did rob us of a lot of on-screen character development and I still like season 1 more, but man what a show huh?
reylo?
Well just finished watching. Excellent. My emotions were up and down. So proud to have been a tiny part of what I would say is the best star wars story to hit the screen since this whole Disney take over began. Bravo to all involved. Definitely going to be watching Rogue One again now with a whole new appreciation of Cassian’s character.
slow clap
Now, where’s the Jyn and Saw prequel series?
There were some subplots that didn’t end up going anywhere. Some of it is a result of the season compression but other stuff I think they just didn’t know what to do with. The big ones are:
*Mon Mothma, her family, and anything to do with the wedding. The only major thing that affects anything else is Luthen taking out Tay Kolma. The rest is all fluff. Mon already made the “sacrifice” of marrying off her daughter in season 1, we don’t need to see it play out.
*Bail Organa staying on Coruscant. Doesn’t matter at all, he’s teleported to Yavin after the timeskip.
*Wilmon going with Saw to steal special fuel and inhale it for some reason. It seems like it’s going to lead to another bigger mission and like he’s going to join Saw’s faction, and this was a rite of passage. But the next time we see him he’s with the main rebel/Luthen group like nothing happened.
*Similarly it seems like Bix is going to start doing missions in the middle and she’ll have a Bonnie and Clyde thing with Cassian but really they were just taking revenge on the torturer guy. Her worries about killing the innocent soldier guy on their last mission, and her drug problems, don’t go anywhere either. Although it is nice that she’s happy at the end and you can say that that was the point all along.
*On a related note there’s the setup where Lonni and the other ISB guy are going to supervise the other Imperial intelligence branch working with the torturer and making sure they don’t screw it up, which could have been entertaining. But that’s dropped when he’s killed right away. Maybe that was to make it more shocking when Bix takes him out? Who knows.
Overall I still thought it was satisfying and well done and the time skips were useful for getting to the good parts quicker.
Yeah the Saw fuel heist thing went nowhere, beyond filling in his change in personality from prequel era to Rogue One. I thought the stolen gas would appear later somewhere.
Bix ending was fine though she could have been used more earlier, however the PTSD and drug use was obviously no go, removing herself from the equation makes some sense. Not sure about being on that same farm planet was a good idea though.
Lonni and the other guy plot was just there to lead into Bix being taken on the revenge mission; he used the guy to get info for Luthen. Somehow he never got caught afterwards and the ISB didn’t think it was suspicious.
I was disappointed there wasn’t more Saw in the last two arcs, maybe something with his group doing something so bad as to explain why the Alliance pushes them away. On the other hand, I underestimated how much the Alliance pushing him away can mostly be in his head.
Having him saying “You have no idea where I am!” when they know and we know that he’s definitely on Jedha was perfect.
Bail’s remaining on Coruscant was necessary simply by way of the fact that we already knew both he and his daughter are active members of the Senate right up to its dissolution. When he was saying that his place was there, he just had to stay, I think part of his reasoning was that he can’t risk his family being scrutinized or taken into custody; he knows he has one of the two people most likely of being someday capable of taking out the Emperor and Vader.
I did not see Partagaz’s suicide coming, but Anton Lesser really sold it. Incredible performance. I had always thought he was fond of Lonni; I was so so so so glad they brought back Nemik’s manifesto. Of all the monologues in this show, it’s the one that sticks with me.
Partagaz was such a likeable guy, it was maybe a little too good to have him turn, though this was obviously the saddest way to do that. I think there’s still a lot to process there.
I could not be more pleased with how things turned out for Heert and Meero, and Perrin for that matter.
