Would it be possible to restore C-3PO's bit of dialogue from Star Wars: "The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations. A power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave."? It is available on an earlier laserdisc edition which has been mentioned often in this forum. And would be a most welcome addition to the Definitive Collection transfer.

I'm on this this weekend!

So we'll see how that turns out...................

Rikter,

Any chance the new transfers you're working on will be anamorphic?
What kind of LD player are you using? Some like TR47 and Laserman seem to think this makes quite a difference.

Does anyone know of a way to transfer the entire supplemental disc downloaded from torrents, into M-PEG or AVI or something a little more suitable to be written to a simple VCD?

Or if someone has done this, could that upload THAT as a torrent?

My stance on revising fan edits.

Does anybody of you know if there are any Dutch subtitles available for these DVDs? (TR47 or anamorphic pre-SE set)

Or has anybody of you already created subtitles for them?

I don't really need them myself, but I'd like to share the movies with friends and family, and some of them will need Dutch subtitles.

Any pointers or tips would be appreciated (you can PM me if you don't want to post about it on the forum).

SINCE HE BROUGHT THAT UP, WOULD ANYONE BE INTERESTED IN MAKING A SET WITH FRENCH SUBTITLES, (PREFERABLY THE TR47 BUT I WILL ACCEPT THE ANAMORPHIC AS WELL). I HAVE A FRIEND IN FRANCE WHO WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A SET BUT ONLY IF IT HAS FRENCH SUBTITLES.

Hello.

Does anyone know if the Making of Star Wars or various other SW documentaries such as SPFX or Classic Creatures are available to download?

My wishlist for the 3 OT movies:

  • Anamorphic video (flawless w/ welding scene & no "gaps")
  • PCM 2.0 audio (straight from LD, lossless)
  • Interactive menus (with chapter selection)
  • NOTHING ELSE (all space devoted to maximum quality)

Is anyone working on a version that fits the bill?

I'll second that svenge! I'd like to see the same thing. With the addition of C-3POs "tractor beam" line put back in and also having them on dual layer discs!

For beginners use something like Dr DivX and make yourself a version that will fit on a cd.

If someone can point me at the laserdisc that has the missing 3PO part you want included, then I can do what you are asking for - just the movie and the menus on Dual Layer - THe welding scene is not a problem

As I recall, the 1989 LD version has that line. The cover has the spotlight "widescreen" logo on the upper center part. You can get more info about it from HERE

The Special Edition LD's also have that line. I thought I would like the "Close the blastdoors!" line, but it doesn't sound right.

I'm still trying to figure out how to upload the torrent of the missing Leia welding footage and the best place to put it up. It is a raw AVI and is only 48 megs.

I recently came across this forum after trying to find copies of the original trilogy, after reading all the posts and different reviews of all the bootleg versions, I must say I'm more confused than ever. I considered purchasing from the endorforest web site, but it seems there are a lot of mixed opinions about that set, and i'm not sure if they are the same set that Prillaman reviewed on his site a week ago, as the artwork seemed a little different to what's advertised on their site, and judging by the discussion relating to other people's versions of the discs it seems that the standard for both picture and sound is pretty high on most sets

to put it in a nutshell I guess what i'm looking for is

: the most complete versions of the films (i.e preferably with leia welding scene from TESB and that 3-PO tractor beam line from ANH)
: preferably an interactive menu would be nice
: bonus features (either on a seperate disc or with the film as long as it doesn't sacrifice too much quality)
: The original classic 'making of...'specials would be a dream come true
: cover artwork (although not essential)
: and lastly someone who can ship to Australia for a decent price

hopefully someone can point me in the right direction

Would you prefer an anamorphic or letterbox version?

If you look in this thread:-

http://www.originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=801&STARTPAGE=1

on the 1st post of the 1st page scroll down and look for thse two releases...

Star Wars: The Original Trilogy - The TR47 Version (Letterbox)

Star Wars: The Original Trilogy - The Anamorphic Widescreen Version

there may be enough info for you to decide which version you want.

Hope it helps.

Hey Patrick, what do you mean it doesn't sound right? That's how it sounded in 1977.

Greedo shoots first? Not in my DVD player.
