Not exactly. It’s not like an image of them in peril or something. Just an ordinary photoshoot of them, usually smiling. But it’s so poor quality, think ‘high school graduation photo’ look, it’s not ‘last known photo’, more like ‘only known photo available before they died’
On a similar note, when you google search a first name and someone comes up with just their name and a random ordinary photo of them, no other sentence that tells them what they were/are (e.g. “American musician”)
That’s what gives it away that you know SOMETHING bad happened to the person.

I don’t know of any examples of an inverse of the ‘so bad it’s good’ phenomenon, other than the obvious examples of Oscar Bait tending towards over-seriousness and pretension.
However, media can certainly become a victim of its own success in terms of overexposure, such as Hamilton, or exploitation of nostalgia, such as Star Wars.

Why are 90% of Hollywood “Golden Age” movies so…average, bare-bones and forgettable? Especially musical, comedy and romance films in that time.
I ain’t talking about Citizen Kane, 12 Angry Men, King Kong, or anything like that, I mean most Hollywood flicks.

Sorry, I didn’t mean all genres, mainly 90% of the romantic comedies made in the time, especially musicals (uhhhh) and comedies.
EDIT: I believe it is because I haven’t SEEN any of them.
What I really meant to say is most of the short silent comedies from the ‘20s, but I believe that was the point.
