Idea: Star Wars (with pop song soundtrack)

I’m not making an edit of this (at least for the time being), but I thought it’d be fun to put together a thread for such an idea. Heavy Star Wars is a thing, but I’m sure there’s plenty of opportunities it missed, so let’s have some fun, shall we?

For starters, Don’t Stop Me Now over Lando’s Death Star run. It would work perfectly to relieve the tension after the throne scene.

I suggest The Beatles! 😃

Well, to be more precise… Palette-Swap Ninja’s quality Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans as a fun and educational option (for some) 😉

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Toto’s Africa over Binary Sunset

You Spin Me Right Round over the space battle in TPM (it is a good trick after all)

You’re Gonna Go Far Kid over Palpatine doing his Prequel puppetry. The song’s practically tailor-made for him.

"And no one even knew

It was really only you"

"With a thousand lies and a good disguise

See the lightning in their eyes

See 'em running for their lives"

Viva la Vida over Order 66 is a must.

Elton John’s “The King Must Die” during “Palpatine’s Arrest” please…

“Vader! Hologram, now!”

“It’s the end of the world as we know it” when the Trade Federation invades Naboo, or when the Empire claims Cloud City.

“Funkytown” when the heroes arrive to Coruscant in Phantom Menace.

The version of I’m Still Standing from the movie Rocketman un-ironically fits with the end of The Rise of Skywalker.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

Shoot to Thrill during the Death Star trench run. A little too Marvel, but they copied Star Wars first

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” would fit in any number of scenes from Revenge of the Sith.

Ladies and gentlemen, I hope it will please you to know that this exact same thought occurred to me, and I followed through:

‘I’ve created a pop music soundtrack for the Despecialized Edition (2.5) of Star Wars IV: A New Hope.’

For the record, Don’t Stop Me Now is a dream over the Vader/Kenobi duel, and I very much look forward to showing you that clip.
