The Criterion DEVO LD I presume? I know there was a DVD release of that, but the R U Experienced video had to be cut because the Hendrix estate suddenly had a stick up their butt or something.

The Go Monkey Go video, (from the Powerpuff Girls movie soundtrack) came out on a Cartoon Network DVD that came in Kellogg’s cereal boxes!

Yep, thats the one. Much better quality than the DVD for some reason. “R U Experienced?” will be included.

As for “Go Monkey Go”, the source I’m using is taken from an HD copy on the site of the studio that produced it. 😃

Weird that the DVD looks worse. Will you be including the commentary tracks?

Cool that you got a pristine source for Go Monkey Go.

Commentary will be included!

Had to backtrack a bit due to problems with the audio. I wasn’t happy with some of the restorations, so I’m working on new versions. This means the screenshots in the first post don’t necessarily represent the final versions.

I also have a small problem regarding the commentary. Since my Laserdisc player does not have a remote, I can’t record the commentary for “R U Experienced”. All the other commentary tracks are easily obtainable through the DVD, so for the time being we may have to end up with “R U Experienced” not having the commentary, unless someone else has the disc and could possibly record it for me?

I have the LD, but have a backlog of captures I need to get through first.

Looking forward to this 😃 I’ve been trying to compile all of devos and related musical output together in the highest possible quality

Well, I found a remote for my laserdisc player on Ebay. Once it gets here, I’ll be able to record the commentary for “R U Experienced”. I’ll update the first post with screenshots from all the main restorations later today.

After doing some research, I found that most fans say the best source for the majority of the videos is the 2003 DVD, which is said to be better then the 2014 dvd (the one I have). With a bit of digging, I found some rips from it, and It is in fact better than both the laserdisc and the 2014 DVD.

Therefore, to ensure that this project is the best it can possibly be, new restorations are underway. I know I’ve been going back and forth on this, but really want the outcome to be the end all version of these videos. Please bare with me, and stay tuned for more info.

I looked at it earlier today, and unfortunately, it doesn’t really look any better than the laserdisc, plus it has titles at the beginning of the video which makes it not usable. I’d like to thank you for sending it however, and it can be used as reference material for the color correction. Thank you so much for the contribution. 😃
