I’ve been saving up Amazon Gift Cards I’ve acquired until I have enough to buy an inexpensive guitar (a Squier Bullet stratocaster by Fender) and a copy of Rocksmith 2014 to teach myself how to play.

I don’t recommend a fender squire. Remember you pay for the name when you get a fender. If it was cash I would say you’re better off getting a used guitar that’s better (as long as they were well cared for an old guitar that was a better model will always be better than a new cheap model). But since you are going the Amazon route, I recommend getting a cheap Sawtooth guitar. They are the same price but a bit higher quality as you are not paying for the name.

Well, I got a guitar. It will be delivered today.

I got a Sawtooth kit, primarily because of Possessed’s recommendation. I really was leaning toward getting a Fender Squier, even if I’d pay more for the name, and probably because of the name. But I kept talking myself out of it. For one thing, I want a kit and the Squier kit on Amazon is ever-so-slightly out of my price range. I’m a complete newb at guitar and don’t want to front significant money (yet) for a hobby I may not stick with.

So in the end, I decided to give Possessed the benefit of the doubt regarding Sawtooth not being worse than Squier for less money.

Good luck to you. I learned to play by reading tabs and then playing along to led zeppelin albums. Eventually I started being able to add my own improvisations and flair and developed my own style, which is a strange hybrid of Jimmy page (led zeppelin), stevie ray vaughan, and metal.

Ok, I’m with you on mimes, (except for Bowie) but what did ventriloquists ever do to you?

I just discovered this was a thing:

Strawberry and banana … sounds about right for Urkel.

I always did wonder if the rest of the Family Matters cast resented the way Urkel took over the show. Not the actor’s fault of course.

Hey congrats man. Four years? For some reason I figured you on being deep establishment. Like maybe belonging to a 10 year stretch. Or something?

Anyway. Glad you’re here in a steady way

K. Let’s have this ride.

Scared me with their unnecessarily scary dummies! (and you never know what they get up to when the ventriloquists aren’t around - irresponsible parenting, that mate 😉)

I much prefer the Muppet versions - rather than the old wooden dummies…

What about Ronn Lucas? I know he had a show in the UK for a while. And one of his characters, Scorch the dragon, had a short lived sitcom here in the early 90’s. I love Scorch!

Another fellow, David Strassman, has a lot of fun playing off the evil demonic dummy trope. I have no idea why either of these guys don’t get the following Jeff Dunham does.

What are your guys favorite type of apple and why?

Personally I’m going with granny Smith. Not too sweet like golden delicious and none of the bitterness of a regular red. Plus I loved sweet tarts as a kid and this is like a healthy version of that.
