I’m sure nobody here will have the same frame of reference, but the new Han looks just like Dick Valentine, singer for Electric Six. My Lady and I can’t stop laughing about it! (we’re big E6 fans)
The more I see of him, the stronger the resemblance becomes. If he yells “YES!” at any point, I’m not sure we’ll be able to recover.

I saw Electric Six live at Lollapalooza back in 2007. Weirdest yet coolest show ever, where he did this Sci-Fi thing:

In the post #metoo era today, this would probably get him kicked off stage now, lol. Still one of my most amazing memories from any Lollapalooza. “BUSH! BUSH!”

Do you know how when you drive a different car than you’re used to and you need to mentally readjust your sense of the width and height when driving in close to walls etc but how after a while you just get used to it and know without looking how much space there is?

Well, the new positioning of the Falcon’s dish makes me wonder if Lando had forgotten that it wasn’t still laying flat when he flew it through the Death Star in Return of the Jedi.

I bet after he said, “That was too close” he thought to himself, “…and it never would’ve happened if you’d kept it in the same place I installed it, Han old buddy.”

This was a surprisingly insightful read. I never thought of it that way.

Colin Cantwell’s concept design for the Star Destroyer will be used in Solo (as an Imperial Cruiser) 😃

That is too cool. I’m more and more excited for this film…

I think having NO expectations and little interest when it was first announced have played to this film’s benefit for me, as each new thing I see they’re doing with it makes it seem neater and more interesting. I feel like this film may wind up with a similar aesthetic and feel of R1 (in that it feels like the better 90’s EU come to life) which is actually getting me pretty hyped… I LOVE that aspect of Rogue One, so here’s hoping they succeed with this one too!

I think it’s ugly too but that’s ok, it’s a bulk cruiser not a crowing jewel of the navy. Something that always bothered me about the EU was how it claimed the Empire had 25,000 or so Star destroyers but the 25 destroyers at Endor was the largest fleet ever assembled. Makes more sense if arrestors were the police force, while the Star destroyers made up the military. That way there could be around 100 star destroyers in the entire galaxy, with nearly all concentrated around the rebel alliance sector for the war. Meanwhile the rest of the galaxy was less secured.

I dig this one and some of the others, too. Might get the lead-in books. I’ve never done that before.

I agree. Awesome artwork and a nice touch having the unaltered Falcon on the Lando cover.

Oh man that looks terrible. Why would they put that stupid design in the movie?

Because you’re wrong.

^ Same here.
When it was announced, I was sure I wouldn’t be seeing it. Not out of silly protest, but lack of interest. But the promos n’ such have won me over.
I’ll be there opening day. Haven’t said that since TPM…

+1

Much like my attitude toward Rogue One, these stand-alone movies are like extra credit. It’d have to be real bad to register as a negative for me, and if it’s halfway decent I’ll enjoy it without the anxiety of a new saga movie.

The anthology films are like meeting a new coworker with potential to develop an independent friendship, and the saga films are like meeting a new lifelong family member.

My stance on revising fan edits.
