It won’t help. He willfully ignores or retcons so much - including stuff he just introduced two years ago in season 10! (Which itself retconned a fuck ton from the original run.)

I have to have a clear recollection of everything in order to be properly annoyed! =P

Also, handy tip for anyone interested. You can watch the one episode we’ve been talking about free on Fox’s website!

While Were-Monster was hands down the best thing about last season. I wouldn’t promote that one episode over the rest of the series. =P

Oh I misread that as the entire season, not series.

The End of the F***king World is excellent. Far better than it has any right to be. Imagine a Wes Anderson movie mixed with an Edgar Wright movie, with a bit of Bonnie & Clyde mixed in for good measure.

That sounds cool i will see it soon. 😃

Derry Girls - a Channel 4 comedy set in the early 1990s during the Troubles, on the personal exploits of a teenage girl, her family and friends…

Two episodes in and some good humour and promise about the show. Hope it continues 😃

Looking forward to seeing Season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale (starts 25th April - trailer).

Westworld season 2 in April as well.

Getting back into Justified. The first half of the first season was hit or miss and I gradually gave up on it, but the second half was great. Glad I gave it a second chance.

Continuing my Netflix Marvel watching as I can.

The Iron fist: I feel like the lead is the worst actor. Or maybe I just struggling to believe that he is serious when he gets all mystical. I watched it because I had to.

The Defenders: not bad, but not great. Glad to see Jessica Jones though. I watched almost all of the season and it has just barely gotten the team together. Lots to do in the final 3 eps.

Do you think they came out with anything better than the first Daredevil season so far?

Jessica Jones season 1, IMO.

Hannibal Seasons 1 & 2 are great!

I love Mads Mikkelsen in anything he does but this is clearly his best performance. I still haven’t gotten around to watching The Silence of the Lambs, so I don’t know if Hopkins is better or not.

Overall 9.5/10

Going to watch Season 3 over the next few weeks.

Fair warning: the first half of season 3 is even more abstract and artsy than the first two seasons (and a loose adaptation of Hannibal the novel minus Clarice). Don’t let it put you off though, it’s still good, and the second half of season 3 is a mostly straight adaptation of Red Dragon with less focus on Dolarhyde, a very different ending, and some character swapping. It’s my favorite of the three Red Dragon adaptations, despite the two movies being varying degrees of “more faithful” to the novel

Yeah. But I admit Daredevil was quite good too.

I was going to watch Jessica Jones S1, but never really ended up doing it. I guess I will have to now!

Just finished Futurama (thanks Ash). Apparently there are some movies and a couple of other, newer seasons. Has anyone watched them? Does anyone know if it’s as good as the original?

Nothing ever is quite as good as a first run. But yeah, the later seasons have some great episodes in them too!

Ooh boy, my time to shine! 😄

There were 4 seasons produced for Fox. Fox doesn’t know what the fuck they’re doing and jumbled up the episodes, so they aired those 4 seasons as 5. Hulu and Netflix (when they had it) used the Fox 5-season order, the DVDs use the 4-season production order.

Comedy Central brought it back for four DVD movies which make up production season 5, aired season 6 (Hulu has the movies in their cutdown 16-episode format as season 6). They’re good.

Then Comedy Central brought it back “properly” as two 26-episode season orders, production seasons 6 and 7. They aired them as four 13-episode seasons, aired seasons 7-10. Hulu and Netflix use the four aired season orders, the DVDs use production episode order but still split them up into four “volumes.”

The last seasons are good overall, but the lows are lower than the Fox seasons. They’re definitely still worth watching, and the finale is excellent (though I still prefer “Devil’s Hands” as the “true” finale).

Ok… so I think I just finished the Fox seasons. DVD, seasons 1-4, which apparently means that I’m watching them in “production order”. That means I should look for a season 5 that consists of the DVD movies (or the DVD movies themselves), and then the CC ones. Is that right?

Author
Time

That’s correct. The movies are on DVD individually:

  1. Bender’s Big Score
  2. The Beast with a Billion Backs
  3. Bender’s Game
  4. Into the Wild Green Yonder

Watch them in order.

Then the Comedy Central seasons start with Volume 5 on DVD (even though the DVD movies go between Volume 4 and 5). First episode of the Comedy Central seasons is “Rebirth.” It follows on directly from the fourth movie.
