Here they are! These are my official Slipcovers for the Original Trilogy. They can be used for any version of the Original Theatrical Cuts (Despecialized, Silver Screen, Grindhouse, Puggo Grande, Poita, GOUT, etc.). Take them! Use them, as I will! Tell your friends about them:

^ This TESB photo of Luke was already found like this. I had to do the others myself. However, I did “adjust” the grayscale and the contrast.

As you can see, these were “inspired” by the CBS/FOX release (this was how I was introduced to Star Wars as a child):

I still have to work on my Slipcase, though. The inner and outer slipcases will be “inspired” by this:

I’ve been holding on to these covers for quite some time now (about 8 months) and I’ve decided it’s time to let them go.

Based on the Criterion layout, these covers present the Despecialized project without cluttering the front artwork. I went with striking images and embellished them for a unique look. These are inspired by JMoomer’s previous designs, which I became obsessed with and decided to work on some originals. This is a set with a theme, and I have more sets designed with the same layout that have different themes (those will be posted at a later date so look out for further posts)

The covers are made for Criterion Single Disc Cases and are FREE TO DOWNLOAD AND PRINT FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY, which I would greatly enjoy seeing photos of.

! PLEASE KEEP THESE IMAGES OFF OTHER SITES !

I made these for the forum members here and I don’t want to find them anywhere else. If I see them pop up on eBay or other forums, the designs will be pulled and I won’t post any more of the many I’ve made.

However, if you would like a set made for you, I am offering to do so.

** IF YOU’RE READING THIS PASSED JULY 4TH IT’S ENDED

The trilogy set will be 40$, 15$ each individually, all in Criterion cases and with an inside print unique to each film as well.

NO DISCS INCLUDED!

those you will have to handle yourself. Shipping only to United States for now. This is a timed production. From now until the 4th of July, you can PM me if interested. Expected delivery by August 1st.

Hope you enjoy the designs and the coming covers.

GORGEOUS work, my friend. Gorgeous.

Well, in addition to the set I’m still working one (I’m still not finished with the Slipcases), here are my “Retro” Disc Labels. The color scheme is reminiscent to the Original VHS tapes I had. The white with the black text represents the white label that was placed on the center of every tape. The black background represents the tape itself. I just added a star field (which is the one from the beginning of the first film) as a bonus, because it’s Star Wars, and it kinds adds to the “Retro” look. If you hate the star field, I will gladly give you one without:

I cannot print these for myself yet. I have neither the label sheets, nor the applicator.

No, no, no! Don’t put labels on optical discs! They will deteriorate much faster than the disc itself and when they do, they can cause possibly irreparable damage to your blu-ray player!

Take a look at this article. There are also posts about this floating around this forum.

People posting disc art around are here intending it to be printed directly onto inkjet printable discs using something like this:

I can’t afford something like that. Besides, I’ve been spending months trying to create proper labels on Avery.com. Are you ****ing kidding me?! Only now I start to hear problems? I’ve been using all that I have (paper, cardboard, etc.) to create this set. I don’t have card stock or photo paper. I had to do it myself with what I only have in my possession, and all this hard work has stopped for something like this…Without these labels, my set can’t be completed.

Unless someone does it for me, I have no other options.

Would a friend, or local library or local printers/stationery store be able to help you out?

This thread may be of interest for a little more info on printers with ‘print-to-disc’ facilities:-

Surprisingly, many printers with the print-to-disc facility aren’t much more expensive than the printers without - though obviously it is an otherwise unnecessary purchase (and ink can so expensive these days too).

Good luck with it - I really hope you complete your quality set.

By the way - superb covers and discart - very cool 😃

I can print out the labels myself. I just need the proper materials. There have been people who have had printed labels on discs for years and still no problems, as long as it’s smooth with no air bubbles.

I respectfully do not agree. I have been using printable labels for a few years with no issues thus far (to be fair, only been using PS3, PS4, and other Sony branded blu-ray players) While damage to any player is not impossible, I would argue that this would only occur after hundreds of hours of constant play.

I decided to not use the “individual” slipcovers for my set. The set will already have to slipcases anyway. Why add more to the load? Besides, I want to make room for a “fourth” case for a bonus disc which will have “From Star Wars To Jedi.”

Here’s my cover for “From Star Wars To Jedi: The Making Of A Saga” for the set. I title (for the most part) had to be made from scratch. I pretty much gave it the same basic design as the other covers, but with more text on the back. Like the other inserts, you are free to use it:

Edit: Fixed for typos.

I might also try to make set with all three movies in one case. A three disc case. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions for a picture that can represent the entire trilogy (other than the Star Wars Trilogy picture)?

That’s a cool idea - though one if the problems for doing 3-in-1 covers many have found is that there isn’t too many quality pieces out here that encompass the whole trilogy…

Detola ended up making his own quality cover - some others have used logos, a few have used a 3 way split like the Faces covers.

A trawl through some of the 3-in-1 covers and boxset links in the post below may be of use/inspiration (as well as a few art sites that feature Star Wars stuff too):-

BTW - That’s a very nice bonus cover you knocked up too 😃

Update! Here’s an “alternative” look to my 3-1:

set

As you can see, I replaced the images on the back with actual screenshots from the movies showing key parts. I’ll be using Ralph McQuarrie art for Disc Labels instead. I also changed the colors of the titles on the back to something “loosely” based on the way they looked on the 1995 THX tapes (which were the last “Official” Unaltered releases on VHS). This will be the version that I will be currently using, but you are free to use it as well.

Here’s a double-sided option:

That is some great work - and nice choices of art too.

It’s always nice to have options and possibilities for our Star Wars covers & art 😃

Please give some consideration to starting your own thread so it, and maybe all your top work, can easily be found in one place (no worries if not) - and thank you for sharing.

"Trilogy" Blu-Ray Cover

Unlike my two previous Blu-Ray cover designs, which were designed strictly for the Despecialized Edition, this custom design is intended for ALL 3-in-1 Original Trilogy sets. I was inspired by this poster : http://i.imgur.com/dynJlyt.jpg

Been working on this off and on for a few weeks, and I think it’s ready to share finally!

Here’s a complete set of simple Blu-Ray cases that should fit any version of the films. Minimalist backs - no features listings, taglines, or synopses. Running times for the OT are based on Despecialized (and the logo blocks include Harmy’s logo, so they’re obviously meant for Despecialized, but nothing else specifically states as such).

These are heavily inspired by phildesfr’s awesome covers, and even use some assets he graciously provided in his MEGA links, including his textless variation of the theatrical TFA poster and some of his logos. I did heavily customize his AOTC logo, and the ESB logo I used is literally the one on the poster itself since it ended up landing in the right spot.

As for other stuff, the TFA logo I used is based on Owain Wilson’s, the TLJ logo I used is lifted from one of Jim Titus’ designs, and the alternate TFA poster is by Grzegorz “Gabz” Domaradzki.

So here they are - I may have to edit this later because I’m just uploading the full-size versions to imgur and they might clutter things up (and imgur might fuck with some resizing, I dunno), and I’ve gotta get off to work right now. In case that happens, here’s album links:

“Theatrical logo” spines
"Saga logo" spines

Covers themselves, “theatrical logos” first:

The “saga logo” ones are the same except for the spines, so I’m going to just leave the album link up for that, but here’s the alternate version of ANH with the “saga” logo and ANH on the front logo:

Hope you like them, and if I’m stepping on anyone’s toes with these (especially phildesfr, since they’re basically modified versions of his covers), please let me know and I’ll take them down.
