Nice. But there is still a light source that is lighting up the edge of Luke’s face for some reason from the tip of his nose to his chin.

You could attribute that to the glow off of Han’s shirt.

yeah, that is what i think it is.

1 makes some sense, which I think is what nuCanon says, but the other two are trying to establish rules that the movies themselves don’t follow.

1 is the old EU explanation. The new canon has turned them into mood rings.

Combing the first 26 pages of this thread, there is no such mention. But there is no reason to assume he would recolor it. There would be no point to changing it other than for purely aesthetic reasons. It would have nothing to do with improving effects or fixing plotholes.

The purpose of Revisited is to make a Special Edition worthy of the original, not to act as George did and change things because reasons. Yes, Ady did make arguably unnecessary changes to ANHR, like altering the music during the Ben/Vader battle. But to some degree that made sense. Coloring Luke’s lightsaber in Jedi from green to blue doesn’t make sense.

Ah, yes, “reasons”.

  1. Jedi use Ilum crystals, which only come in blue and green. Sith use synthetic crystals, which only come in red.
  2. Jedi sentinels use blue crystals while Jedi consulars use green.
  3. Kyber crystal colours reflect the affiliation/temperament of their users.

Blah blah blah bullshit.

Aesthetics and symbolism are the only valid reasons for any lightsaber colour.

How is it “bullshit”?

It’s bullshit because all the stuff you quoted is no longer canon anyway (for example, there’s now no such thing as a synthetic crystal in canon), and new bullshit has been made up to replace it (crystal “bleeding”). And none of it matters to the films themselves anyway.

It’s also bullshit for the simple fact that I don’t like it. I don’t like anything that reinforces the RGB lightsaber colour scheme.

But that’s a discussion for another thread in another subforum, so I’ll end talk of it here.

Hey Chiron, just pointing out (as it was pointed out to me by doubleofive) that first and foremost these are actually Ady’s edits and the main goal behind them wasn’t necessarily to make versions of “what the special editions should have been” even though this perfectly epitomises the first two revisisted movies. But while they were “fan fixes”, it has been stated that ROTJ:Revisited will actually be a “fan edit” and therefore you should not be surprised if Ady does change a bit more with this movie.

It has also been said though that he will not be changing the colour of Luke’s lightsaber which I to am happy to hear 😃

A bit off topic, but can anyone tell me how to find the previous two revisted?

Yeah, just have Luke use the force to suspend the hilt in the air as he dragged his father from the throne room all the way to the nearest hangar bay! 😃

For the Tydirium, you could use the transport from ANH that dropped off the stormtroopers on Tatooine or the one from Rogue One…

When Han tells Chewie to “fly casual” I would like to see the shuttle to a barrel roll or a loop de loop, lol

Who is the more foolish, the fool, or the one who follows him?

Personally, I think Tydirium should be the Sential-class from the SE. It wouldn’t take too much to make the exterior set look like the cockpit & the interior set would match well.

The Return of the Jedi: Revisited $1000 challenge begins now!

The project has only just begun, and there are already hundreds requests from numerous people specifying what they want to see in Return of the Jedi: Revisited. Adywan and his crew sacrifice their time for the Revisited projects, learning skills and doing things most are unable or unwilling to do just to create a fan edit of someone else’s movie. There are a lot of people enjoying Adywan’s meticulous work on Star Wars & Empire, I know I have. He is doing this project not just for his own love of Star Wars, but to share his ambitious vision of these films with fans around the world. Now it’s time for Return of the Jedi to get its own Revisited treatment, and cash is needed to make it happen. With all his friends on Facebook and all the members here, people constantly throwing in their two cents and critiquing his work, it’s surprising that the project is now having so much trouble raising funds. It’s a shame that there are some who feel entitled to have regular requests and opinions on this project, but have no intention of ever donating to contribute. I know there are some who truly cannot afford to donate. But if you can, at least donate the price of a movie ticket. However, considering what you gain from Adywan’s dedication to this project, the price of an average Blu-ray would be much more appropriate.

$5, $10, $15 or $100, make any donation to Return of the Jedi: Revisited today through Sunday (Monday, Nov. 6th through Nov. 12th) and I will match all donations up to $1,000.

For your donation to be matched, you must make a note to Adywan when you make your donation that it is part of the $1,000 challenge.

Let’s get this started.

On the face of this… it seems a very kind and noble gesture to aid the funding of ROTJ:R - though we obviously have some concerns that this may not be legit.

We are asking around to get some info - for now - please do not send copies of paypal receipts.

Hopefully this turns out to be legit - though we are sure ‘1000 Challenge’ understands why we have to be a little careful…

Edit - this kind offer by 1,000 Challenge is indeed legit. (thank you Ady & doubleofive for the info)

Please read the this post by 1,000 Challenge - http://originaltrilogy.com/post/id/1126679 - and hope many members can donate some funds 😃

I get it.
That’s why I notified Adywan and doubleofive last night that I intended to do this. This username was created for just for this challenge. They both know my legitimate user account. I have been an active participant on this site for nearly 5 years and I would expect that you might even recognize my usual user name. I was also one that helped Adywan out when his camera broke a while back (over $800).

The only thing I can do with the info in a Paypal receipt is put money in your account. Though if anyone feels there is any sensitive info on the receipt then black it out. I just need the date and the amount. Or if anyone has another suggestion for proof on paid donations feel free to speak up.

Why did you feel the need to make a sock, which is against forum rules?

How about just have adywan tell you how much he received during that time period? we can trust him.

And we can trust him more than the random user, any of whom could easily make their own paypal receipt. Unless I’m mistaken, you can’t verify those transactions anyway.

Anyway, you probably should have gotten permission for the sock from the admins as well. Or at least waited for Adywan to respond…

I trust Adywan, but he may receive donations from people who know nothing about the challenge. I don’t want to pay up on those donations. I am willing to match up to $1000-but only for the challenge donations.

I did get a reply from Adywan and doubleofive before I posted the challenge. If either had any questions or reservations I would have waited to post.
