Should I have kids, I probably won’t deliberately expose them to SW. It’s just not worth it being a SW fan. Instead I’ll show them stuff by Bergman and Kurosawa and co. and try to get them interested in classic foreign films.
I figure that basically all people being born this decade will be a part of Disney’s master plan for the franchise whether they like it or not. And since the OT can be a brilliant and transformative experience for a young child and gets much less effective if introduced at an older age, it would be a shame to deprive someone of that.
Of course I do not suggest depriving someone of the experience of good foreign films, but unless you watch a dub it’s going to require a child with the ability and patience to read for several hours at a time.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I’m going to amend this.
I’ll expose my kids to arthouse and classic horror films. Then, when they’re older, I’ll bring on the foreign films.
As for Star Wars, I’ll show them the theatrical version of SW. If they like SW, then I’ll show them the theatrical version of TESB. If they like TESB, I’ll neglect to tell them about ROTJ and let them assume a third movie was never made.

I suppose I should try and explain myself for that comment. I was trying to be rude because Handman’s comment pissed me off, but at the same time the simple “Fuck you.” has been an OT.com lighthearted insult that I thought most people would get, although I guess it has been replaced by “Up ur” now.

Not having that mate, at all. If you want to use that ‘Up ur’ as a ‘ot.com lighthearted insult’ instead, then ok.
‘Fuck you’ means exactly what it is - and could well lead to misunderstandings and further issues.
I’d recommend everyone not use that term to other members of the community in the future.
